Yes, you can get a cheaper holiday! But with Thomson you are buying a service.
From the Thomson Travel agents {sorting out our problems} Thomson ground staff, at both airports, plane staff. BRILLIANT

Coma Grand Hotel & Pool were spotlessly clean.

Room. It was great to have a small kitchenette, even though we were all inclusive.

Food. It was fantastic. Well done to all the kitchen staff. I read a review that said ‘the food was cold’? NOT AT ALL! Repetitive a little, But you don’t go to a Harvester every day do you?

The Thomson hotel reps. they really do earn their money. With Party ‘Poo Poo’ Paul and Shabby ‘The Shabster’ Abby, Then you have Big Jay, Nutty Nicky, Atomic Ash and many more. From 11am to 11pm these guys are on the go. Our favourite was around the pool. The grandchildren loved every minute.

Being that, my husband and I are in our 50’s. It reminded us of our childhood. With the old Butlins Red coats in the 60’s & early 70s.
Go you are getting what you pay for. SERVICE WITH A BIG SMILE.

Room Tip: Get up early for a pool side, sun bed. I was up at 6.30 just to watch as I found it funny.

Having a great time at the coma gran the refurb is really good. The staff are brilliant as always, a special mention must go to atomic ash as she has been amazing with the children&adults alike taking time out to sit & talk with us which is the only rep that has done this since we arrived. I feel it is always important that the reps no what we as guests think of the entertainment. My daughter can't stop talking about atomic ash she thinks she is great. I can see her going on to do lot bigger things. We was very impressed with party Paul Aswell as he has so much energy.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks with my wife and 2 children. We were self catering so can't comment on evening meals but met people who were all inclusive and they said it can get repetetive. Hotel was clean and rooms were basic but ok. The pool area was the best thing about this hotel especially if you have children under 8. The shows of a nite were terrible as was the beer. Very close to beach which was lovely. Overall a bog standard hotel

Room Tip: Up high and off main road

Stayed at the coma gran in june. Recently refurbished. Beautiful. Spotlessly clean. Maintained constantly. Apartments good size with fab air con. Waitress and bar staff all friendly and welcoming. Never been anywhere like this where sunbeds available all day and a parasol to each two beds. Nice touch. Food at bar fantastic. Restaurant bit same old but fresh and always replenished. No queues as id expect for fully inclusive for drinks etc but it was june not august.
Kids reps relentlessly happy, cheery, friendly. Lovely guys and girls.
The entertainment staff were amazing. Endless energy. Minnie mouse megan was the sweetest, friendliest girl never anything but smiling all day and night. Great snow queen.......fab dancer... Loved by all. Party paul and shabba great entertainment too. The thomson staff deserve medals for the hours they put in to maintain their level of enthusiasm. The thomson rep acts by far were better than the drafted in ones. Though games and activities thru day around you. Not in your face or spoiling sun time.
One negative ? Please coma gran manager consider giving the team free refreshments and light food......to watch them pay was shocking !!!!

Room Tip: Pool view great if you have slightly older kids that can go on ahead as you can see all pool an foot...

Spent 1 week at the hotel with a 10 year old and a 13 year old. The hotel has undergone a refurbishment with brand new pool. Lots of sunbeds and brollies to be had and very comfy.

The all inclusive food was excellent and it is the first hotel I have stayed in where lunch was served waiter service at the outdoor bar - best meal of the day. Fantastic selection of food. Breakfast and dinner served in the restaurant and again food was lovely. You are allocated the same table for the duration of your stay which was great.

Thomson entertainment team were great - games during the day if you want to get involved. Evening stuff - bingo every night followed by outside act [hit and miss] or Thomson team. Entertainment area is lovely with comfy seating.

We had a 1 bed room apartment in the 7 storey block - be aware that these are smaller than the 1 beds in the 6 storey block and the bedroom is right beside the corridor which has a marble floor. Constant noise from passers by. If you can e-mail the hotel and ask for an apartment in the 6 storey block which has a carpeted corridor.

Pool area is lovely - but agree with other guests about pool being overcrowded at times. Considering it is brand new they could have made it larger considering the size of the hotel. Outdoor pool was closed for the full week which was not so good.

There is a small multi purpose sports pitch and 3 pool tables - would say that the hotel is definately suited to younger children. My son did struggle particularly at night and he didnt make any friends this year. Hotel has free wi fi but didnt seem to work on the 5th and 6th floor.

Cannot fault the food, accommodation, staff, Thomson team but lack of facilties for older children and the pool size would put me off returning. If you have young kids they will love it.

Sa Coma beach was a 5 minute walk away and you have everything you need on your doorstep. Bars are around the hotel but the patio doors block out the noise very well.

Definately recommended for younger kids - they will have a ball!

Room Tip: Pool facing definately in the 6 storey block furthest from the Britannia bar.

This was one of the best hotels I have been in for a long time. I went for 1week in July14 with my 3 grandchildren and we all had a terrific time. It was very clean, good food and great entertainment for all to enjoy. The children had the time of their lives. They are catered for all ages and the Thomsons club reps are all fantastic and energetic young people. Thanks you all for a very good holiday

Room Tip: We had a 1bedroom apt which I felt the bedroom was a little small, and because it did not have a win...

We have never written a post-holiday review but we feel compelled to this time after a superb two-weeks stay at the Coma Gran. We stayed from 19th July -2nd August and had the most memorable holiday in Mallorca to date.
The entertainers - namely party Paul, Atomic Ash and Shabba were the most talented and enthusiastic we've encountered and made the children ( 4 and 6) feel very involved. The pantomime show displayed their real potential and was a fantastic performance.
The hotel has had some renovations to the pool and outdoor bar area over the winter and it looks very contemporary. The only slip-up (literally) are e poolside tiles which are extremely slippery when wet. Plenty of sun- loungers to go around even if you are not up at 5 in the morning like the other residents.
There is no escape from the sound of nightlife regardless of what room you stay in. If it is not coming from the entertainment on stage it's one of the music bars outside.
The rooms ending lower numbers (01- 06) are at the most northern aspect of the hotel and get a view of the stage. Higher floors 4 and up get a sea view. The highest room numbers on each floor get a wrap- around balcony that is considerably bigger than others. Rooms around number 20 ish are nearest the lifts. Pool view are the best option as there is little to see on the street view rooms and still get the noise.
Food was not as good as some Thomson resorts but no real faults just limited choices at times and not much character to the dining area.
The Kids club were very useful and provided plenty of opportunities to off-load kids of differing ages for an hour or two. The kids always returned raving about how much fun they'd had. A great team of child entertainers from Thomson again.
In summary this hotel looks good and although the rooms are a little dated, were comfortable and very clean. The Thomson team were fantastic especially the entertainment. The area is not as busy as Cala Millor but beaches and nature reserve were more picturesque. Eating out is a little limited if you want to sample something different but our most memorable meals were at the restaurants Bollywood Star ( yes a curry) and Amore Mio ( pizza and pasta) which are just up the road.
Would love to book this place again next year - actually might do it now.
