“Beautiful inside - excellent location”
Reviewed 13 October 2012 via mobile

I have just returned from a 7night stay at the Blau Mediterraneo Hotel on a half board basis.

The hotel looks rather ugly from outside but it is a different world inside. Compared to lots of other accomodation during my search, i found this hotel to be spacious, contemporary and clean. The hotel has a slightly odd layout with 2 receptions but this was clearly explained and caused no issues whatsoever.

We hired a car from the airport and had no trouble finding this hotel. There is a small car park which was full most of the time but there is plenty of parking on the roads around the hotel which was very safe. The hotel has an excellent loction on a beautiful sandy beach. Cala Millor was a few miles down the road, we drove to a town called Porto Cristo which took around 10minutes.

We were given a room on the ground floor so did not get much of a view. The room had 2 double beds, coffee table with chairs, small tv, wardrobe and side tables. It was very clean and spacious. We had a small terrace area where we could have sat out and dried some clothes out there. There us a safe in the room but you need to pay at the reception for a key- it cost us €16 for the week and an extra €3 deposit which was returned at the end.

Half board included buffet breakfast and dinner. Breakfast - there was a good selection of food from breads, spreads, cheeses, hot plates, omlette station, juices, pancake station, fruits and cereal. for the evening meals- the buffet was slightly varied each night again with quite a good selection. Sat was gala buffet night, Wednesday was Mallorcan theme night. The food was gwnerally ok but not outstanding. We tended to have dinner at around 730 to avoid the crowds but found some of the food was warm. For guests who stay more than 7night, you have the option to book into the Japanese restaurant or Tapas reataurant on certqin nights for 1night during the week. We tried the Japanese restaurant which was quite nice. It is a set menu and it really filled me up.

There is a fantastic pool with lots of sun loungers. Spa pool was amazing and peaceful. You can get pool towels but you are required to put a deposit down of €10 each.

Staff were extremely hard working throughout thw hotel. 95% of the staff were very friendly, in particula a chef who wears hit hat on the side and a lady in reception. One particular manager who i saw most evenings outside the buffet restaurant seemed like a nice lady, taking time to speak with guests, however i did feel she was selective in who she spoke to. On the evening if the Gala Buffet, she offered everyone champagne apart from me and my husband. Im not if this was because she felt we were underage.

Overall, the hotel attracts a more 'mature' groups but there were families and younger people towards end of our stay. It us very german orientated, it caters well for families and those with disabilities. I had a very enjoyable stay and would definately recommend this hotel.

We went to the hotel for a five day break and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a good location, with a short walk to the beach (lovely white sand and clear blue sea - a little bit of sea weed, but don't let that put you off) . Our room was a good size and overlooked the sea. We booked half board - the food was excellent with a good choice to suit all. The staff were helpful and friendly. The pool and spa facilities were excellent - if anything the sunbeds were a little close together, but it didn't spoil our stay. Would look at returning here sometime in the future.

Room Tip: Request a sea view

Me and my wife celebrated her 60-years birthday at this wonderful hotel at Malorcas east coast.
We were enjoying our stay over a period of nine days with a fantastic ocean wiev in a super clean and well dressed room. If the breakfast was fantastic the buffe on Saturday evening was one of the best we ever have enjoyed.
The pool area and the one and a half km long beach with white and soft sand just about twenthyfive meters from the pool gate was such a nice experience so we really enjoy coming back to this ecxellent hotel again.
The reception service was nice and friendly. The pool activities like dart, table tennis, riffle shooting, aerobics in the pool and a lot more were effective throughout the whole week.
The Americano team also arranged live shows beginning at 9:30 every evening.
We'll be more than glad to recommend this excellent hotell to everyone that really want to have an enjoyable and relaxing vacation.
Note: There are also some really nice resturants down town the centre with fish/lobster- and cool grilled meat speciallities that need to be visited
Many thanks to the staff from Inger and Tommy from Sweden

Definitely would stay here again. A little pricey and I think if I used their grounds more I would feel as though I got my monies worth. Rooms were spacious and clean. Courteous and helpful staff except at the information desk. They had NO information regarding the rest of the island. Only in the immediate area. My friend and I wanted to see the northern part of the island and one woman at the information desk, was not helpful at all. The second woman tried to help but, clearly, had no information to give us. We used the internet to find what we needed. The included breakfast was good. The wifi was very poor and annoying that you can only use in the lobby of the hotel. All other hotels we atyed on had wifi in our rooms. Overall it was a nice stay and compared to what we saw around us, we had the best hotel.

Room Tip: They charge per person for the room so becareful when booking.

A friend and I came back yesterday from a weeks stay at the Blau. We had a lovely time - it was the perfect place to relax. Sunloungers were still available at 9.00am (not prime spots but still good choices), the staff were VERY friendly and attentive, the selection of food for breakfast and dinner was varied and excellent and rooms were modern and clean. We requested (and paid for) a sea view and it was fantastic looking over a gorgeous beach with aquamarine water and soft white sand. There is not much to do around the hotel in the evening, just a few bars and restaurants but if you are looking for a relaxing break, with great facilities and somewhere you can really kick back then the Blau Mediterraneo in Sa Coma is for you. Enjoy!

Just got back from a 2 week stay at the Blau Mediterraneo Hotel in Sa Coma and had a fantastic time. Never mind the 4* rating, the hotel should be made 5* for all of the little extras that were included during our stay.
Firstly although we arrived late the restaurant staff had still prepared us something to eat in the restaurant which was very kind of them.
Our hotel room was fantastic, not only were we on the 6th floor so had a fantastic view of the swimming pool and beach below but it was cleaned every single day by the maids.
The food in the restaurant was always delicious, always of a high quality with much selection. Restaurant staff always very helpful and welcoming. Once a week special Gala Dinner nights were put on with Majorcan specialities on the menu. During Gala Dinner nights on entrance to the restaurant we were also given free flowers and champagne, even sangria and sherry some evenings! The hotel dancers or the pianist also regularly put on performances in the reception area before guests entered for dinner too. All of these little extra's which made our holiday that extra bit special.
Cannot fault the pool area, very big and spacious with a lifeguard on duty from 10am-7pm. We never had a problem getting a sun-lounger either, always seemed to be a lot available. From 12am- 5am a snack bar is also open serving sandwhiches, pizzas, hot meals and desserts etc. Again just like the restaurant, food always very nice, reasonably priced too with lovely staff. On the other side of the pool is also a drinks bar serving smoothies, soft drinks, milkshakes and alcohol etc.The main night-time bar is also open throughout the daytime out on the terrace.
Entertainment also excellent. Of a daytime there is an animation team which put on a number of activities and games e.g. aqua-gym, Spanish lessons, ping pong, darts competitions etc. Shows put on every night, some better than others but most what you would expect from a 4* hotel. The Blau Dancer shows are a must see! Absolutely fantastic! Once a week there were also special themed nights, on the first week there was White Night where the hotel was decorated beautifully with white banners and rose petals on the terrace, the second week was Hawaiin Night, again where the terrace was decorated beautifully, the bar staff dressed up and everyone really got into the Hawaiin theme.
At the night-time bar alcoholic drinks were always of good measures, were of reasonable price and there was always a cocktail of the day. Free nuts were also given out to guests every evening before watching a show (another extra). Bar staff were all very lovely and easy to get along with especially Jose, Dominic, Xavi, Isais, Monolo, Anna (to name a few).
Other facilities at the hotel include a spa where there is an indoor pool with a jacuzzi, a sauna room, an ice-shower, massage room and hair salon. There is also a pool room, a cards room and Wi-Fi access.
Sa Coma is a much quieter part of the island, however there are still a number of shops, bars and restaurants down the road from the hotel. Spa supermarket is situated just across the road! There is also a bus stop right outside of the hotel with buses operating all over the island, reception staff always very helpful with directions and advice on excursions. Rooms safes can also be purchased at reasonable rates.
Many people have commented that the hotel is very German orientated, yes it is, however this never affected us as most of them spoke English anyway! Most staff relatively good with English too so there was no problem for us in this area.
The only negative thing I would say about this hotel is that it is not really aimed at families with young children, would say it was mostly aimed at families with older children and adults as entertainment mostly geared towards them. Much more formal atmosphere around the bar and restaurant, yet still very chilled out and relaxed.
In conclusion we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, definately worth everything we paid and would certainly go again! Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Request a high floor room for the best view over the pool below and Sa Coma Beach!
