“Excellent facilities, just a bit too big perhaps!”
Reviewed 6 September 2009

We visited these apartments for the last 2 weeks of August, myself, husband, boys of 11 & 14 and my parents. We each had a 1 bed apartment next door to each other and were fortunate to have a lovely pool view.
The transfer time from airport is just over the hour. The Thomson reps are very impersonal, when greeted at airport, they never asked your name, just asked where you were staying & gave you a coach number. Similar on return, no rep on bus, driver just checked your flight number to make sure you were on right bus.
The location of the Safari Park is excellent. A Spar shop just outside the entrance & numerous other shops, bars, restaurants within 5-10 minute walk, although not typically spanish. My Dads favourite was the Kings Head as the desserts were Spotted Dick , Syrup sponge etc all served with custard! The apartments are a good size and well cleaned, although the furniture is showing its age & could be replaced. It is a big complex with about 600 rooms. There were loads of sunbeds & you never had a problem getting them after 9.30. The only drawback is they were positioned very close together with hardly any room to get to the pool. The crazy golf was excellent, escpecially as free. Tended to play most nights after meal ( we went self catering so can't comment on hotel food). The entertainment was similar to what you get everywhere & as very busy with lots of small children running around we tended to avoid.
We visited the La Reserva waterpark twice. It opens at 10.30-5.30. Buy your ticket the day before as we wasted an hour the first time queuing to buy the tickets at the Clubhouse.Food is included in 20Euro price, you get breakfast food until 12.30, then meats, pasta, salads etc until 3pm, then until close it's tea & cake, so you tend to spend all day eating! Only 2 slides though so could be improved for older children with a few more.
Excellent bus service available, used to visit the Caves of Drach. Took about 20 mins & cost 1.65 Euro each way. Be aware they only let you enter the Caves on the hour. We arrived at entrance just after 12 and had to wait around until 1pm until they let the next group down. There must've been a good couple hundred people waiting by then so very busy & you have to keep moving, bit like a conveyor belt & you couldn't stop to fully appreciate their scale & magnificence.
Finally beware of the Doctor that visits the Hotel. They advertise as being there twice a day, but this is a bit erratic. My son had the usual ear infection (he's prone to them!). Doctor didn't turn up but reception advised that he was on his way as they'd called him in to see someone & I could catch him. Got prescription for antibiotics (which cost 30Euros) but the doctor didn't tell me before being seen that he would charge 100Euros just to see you. A bill was left at reception for us when we checked out!
An excellent family resort with a lovely beach. Accomodation is fantastic if you don't mind it big & busy.

very nice clean hotel was unsure when reading other reviews before going but some people are never happy , ok so there was a lot of Germans and dutch but they like us were on holiday out to have a good time , so didnt bother us at all, the food was very good something different every night the theme nights were very good i dont eat meat but always found something to have the veggi option was always very nice . As for putting towels on beds dont worry any put out bofore 9 were removed so most people came down at that time, so no need to get up at the crack of dawn and there are loads of beds !! . la reseva is brill and i would recomend it well worth the 9 euro per adult and 4.50 for children if you are all inclusive . It is really lovley and quiet in there, just dont go at the weekend because all the spanish go and gets busy . the bar staff were very good as for saying they were slow there was a 1000 people in the hotel when we stayed there most all in inclusive , they worked very hard and went as quick as they could. The room was the best we have ever stayed in very big the kids in the living room and us in the bedroom tv in living room was good got quite a few english channels and cartoon network that kept the kids happy , the air conditioning was really good and had different controls for the living room and bedroom and you could adjust the temp , that and the electric went on when you put a key card in a slot in side the door , so could only be on when you were in the room but didnt matter as it was very good .overall i would reconmend this hotel to anyone it was an excellent holiday ( just a special mention to the hotel reps they worked so hard and were always happy and smiling well done )

If you have children this is the place to go plenty for them to do, great scooter and quad bike rides close to camp but cost is 9 euro. If you have a problem with the germans or dutch dont go here(make sure you are up early if you want a sunbed)Food is very biased towards them and we found it difficult to find something nice to eat especialy for the kids, hardly any potatoes all week mainly chips. Entertainment very good.Staff could have been a bit more friendly and a bit quicker at the bar. Basically if you are not to worried about the food(or like german & Dutch food)i would say it is a great holiday, but if food is your priority dont go there

We stayed here for two weeks in August 09 on an all inclusive basis and had a great time. We took our 20 month old daughter with us and she really enjoyed herself. We arrived early but our room was ready and waiting for us and they had even provided a proper cot for my daughter, not a travel cot which makes a nice change.

The rooms were very nice, clean spacious and lovely and cool with the air conditioning. The blinds all had black out curtains and the windows were double glazed which meant my daughter was still able to have her daytime nap comfortably. The lifts to the room were small which meant you had to wait during busy times but we found some more by the pool which were always quieter.

You had a small kitchenette which was more than you needed on an all inclusive basis but no microwave to heat baby's bottle. Bathroom and shower were always very clean.

The food was very good and there was always a good variety of food options so something for everyone. They served chips with everything (which was practically all my daughter ate!) but also lots of lovely seafood, bbq meats and pasta. The ice cream was also fantastic.

The drinks were good and my husband liked the beer and he is fussy! They even had three cocktails and a cava on the all inclusive option. Drinks were always cold the bar staff friendly.

The hotel is very big and it was busy during August, however we always managed to get a sun bed if we wanted one and as there are three main pools they were never too crowded. There were three small baby pools in the hotel however we found the best kids pool was located in the childrens park called Park Paradis which had a slide that all the kids loved.

There are lots and lots of activities to do in this hotel and it would be difficult to get bored. They have two kids clubs - one run by thompson/first choice and the other run by the hotel. The hotel one seemed more popular with the older kids and the kids were always kept busy.

They ran a kids disco every evening at 8.30 and always played the same songs but the kids loved it as they could learn the dance moves. However the songs will get stuck in your head!

All in all a great place to take the kids.

This is my second stay at this hotel, which probably answers most questions. This is a large hotel however there is no queues for food or drink. I would say guests were approx 50% English & 50% German / Dutch. The Hotel is a approx 10 minutes gentle walk to the beach. The pools were never over crowded with atleast 3 little paddle pools for toddlers. Sun Beds, plently the Hotel also enforces no reservations of sun beds with towels before 9 am, they do walk around and remove towels if no one is on the beds, great to see. Additionally, we reported to the staff that door handle was loose and we had no English Channels on the TV, both were sorted within 2 hours.
Staff - Either English or spoke excellent English, helpful and friendly
Room - Very clean, we were fully inclusive but had an apartment which was great
Food - Varied, hot always things for children, themed foods, Chinese, Mexican etc. Also you can dine around at the Hotles Tapas, Italian, Steak House of Argintinean. During the day there is also an outside BBQ
Entertainment - Normal spanish hotel style, kids club, shooting, archery, loads of other things available. There is also a 54 (split into 3 levels) mini golf course which is free. Guests also get free access to the Bio Spar which was rated the second best spar in Europe, its excellent, Hot Spar, Plunge Pools, Steam Room, Sauna etc
Also attached to the Hotel is a Water park - cost 9 Euro for all inclusive guests a little more for different boards. Its great and very tranqual with a swim up bar, all food and drink included in the price

The local area is quiet, a very nice place to relax. Tried a few of the English Bars food is nice. Nearby atractions: Caves of Drach is about a 30 minute bus ride

We just got back from our holiday at the Safari Park in Sa Coma, Mallorca. I have to say, it has been the best hols we had for a while. Everything was clean, very organized and the drinks were cold and tasty. The kids (6 and 11) loved every minute and yes..... we bought the minidisco DVD incl. Karaoke. The songs are stuck in my head 4ever lol. We are living in germany (husband is english). We very much enjoyed the company of very nice friendly english and dutch families and other germans too. Thanks for a nice holiday and we will come back!

Just came back from a week in the Safari Park, its the first time we have done an all inclusive so were a little anxious. Three families travelled together for a week of fun to help us celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and we were not let down. Our friend had booked direct with the hotel and they had booked our transfers from the airport. On arriving at the airport a polite bus driver took us to a lovely clean bus (just for us) and whisked us off to the hotel - no waiting around for other passengers. At the hotel our rooms were ready (11am) and had placed us all next door to each other on the first floor overlooking the pool. Rooms are spacious, clean and had maid service every day (except Tues) - beds were changed, towels were replaced and rooms cleaned to a very good standard. We always managed to get beds by the pool (and there were 10 of us) - yes you needed to be down before 9am but it just made us make more of our holiday. Once tried to wing it and put towels on before 9am and leave them but as it says in the book, if they are left before 9am they will be removed, folded and placed to one side; fair play they did! Anyway we all agreed that coming down in the morning at 8 45 am was very peaceful and we could see why so many people were happy to come down and put their towels down and have some quiet time.

Entertainment - as said in another review - bless them they try hard. Throughout the day and evening the protur team provide an endless stream of events for kids and adults. We took advantage of the air rifle shooting, archery, tennis, and squash (all free). Each night people got cerificates for what had been won during the day. The kids disco started at 8.30 and the evening show at 9 45 - to be fair we never really watched them as the kids were all just happy playing but it was really busy and if you wanted good seats you needed to be there early.

Food - excellent. The buffet breakfast was great, lunch could be served in restaurant or at the country grill (this was our favourite and suited the kids). Bookable restaurants were worth it - yes you did need to queue but again no big worry. On the night of our wedding anniversary the hotel had let our friends pre book the argentinian restaurant- which was a meat eaters paradise, they even provided us with a cake. La Bodega - the tapas bar was good and plenty to eat, La Fontana - the Italian was very good, we sat inside in the air conditioned restaurant and was served bottles of san miguel and bottles of wine (nothing on tap) and lastly there is the Country Grill which is fantastic with steaks, chops, etc. We did use the restaurants more than once and no one seemed to mind.

At one point I thought my 2 year old may turn into a mini milk after eating 5 on the trot - but what are holidays for? and isnt it nice not to have to say no! Our friends have a little boy who is allergic to dairy and they catered for him both with ice lollies and in the restaurants. The main desk provided him with a slip to show when he got the other ice lollies and we did not need to pay so was very pleased he did not need to miss out.

Water park - great we went twice - not huge but clean and safe and great for our kids (age 5 months to 7) where else do you get a water park attached to your hotel. You do need to pay 9 euros but all food and drink is included for the day, and the food is lovely.

Crazy golf - there is 3 courses on the hotel site and our kids and husbands really enjoyed it and again no charge.

So in all a great hotel and complex that has plenty to do do for all the kids - would defo go back!!
