“Lovely hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

We stayed here for a week. Only booked here because of the great reviews. The good points are the rooms are very spacious with a lovely modern bathroom and great shower, we had towels changed everyday but the beds were made up but no sheets was changed during our weeks stay.
Coffee/ tea on a tray was filled up when used. The rooms were cleaned everyday. The pool area had lots of sun-beds but the sun did not cover the full area, left side in the morning and right in the afternoon. They are a few sun beds that get the sun all day which you will see when you have been there a few days. The food is good and plentiful, if you don't want the food they put on in the trays they have a chef who will cook fresh meat for you .. Chicken, fish etc. lots of salads / pasta if you want the healthy option, they also do healthy choices of milk to choose for your cereal.
The reception staff was very helpful and polite and Lucas the guy who gets you to do activities is really jolly and nice. The only bad points in my opinion is the pool is smaller than we are used to and in high season could be a bit full and not much room to have a good swim. Also we found the beds to be hard. The entertainment was ok on the night but found they catered more for the older people, they was a variety of ages i.e. Young couples and young family's maybe introduce more games on the evening as the quiz night was really good. Overall we had a great time and the hotel is lovely.

Room Tip: We stayed in A block on the 5th floor with great views and gets the sun on balcony in the afternoon.

A wonderful hotel, clean and friendly. Smiling staff and good food most of the time. Mushrooms at breakfast, great. The rooms are very spacious, but minus a bath, shower only. TV gets most UK channels, watch the news before your evening meal. Could I improve things, yes and here is how. The public toilets have timers, so the lights can go off every minute, please, for the sake of a light bulb put permanent lighting in these toilets. In front of the stage are about 40 tables with chairs, lovely, but no parasols so it is too hot to sit there during the day, a few umbrellas would help. Please stock the inside bar with crisps etc, cannot always find the change for the machine. Fancy a large beer in the afternoon, sorry, the bar only provides plastic cups which hold about a quarter of a pint, larger containers please to avoid the walk to the bar every 10 minutes. The pool table was very popular, mostly with teenagers and it was difficult to get a game, another pool table, which earns 1 euro every 10 minutes, cannot be bad. I found the entertainment poor, only two good acts in 7 days. I do not much fancy acrobats and Spanish ballet. Where are the old comedians that used to do the circuit. Oh, and the entertainment finishes at 11 pm at this hotel. 5 minute walk to a large beach, turn left for a walk on the prom., turn right for the shops selling all the usual. Bike hire etc. Plenty of cafes and bars along here, cheap holiday shoes for the girls, 1/4 the price of M&S. A couple of people we met book another holiday whilst at the hotel, only have to find the air travel. They reckon they saved £400, sorry Thomson. Would definitely go back here, especially with another pool table and bigger beer containers.

Room Tip: All rooms overlook the pool as the hotel is U shaped with the pool In the middle. As the sun alters...

Have just arrived back from a 1 week stay at the Palmeras Playa in Sa Coma. All the reviews i read before booking this holiday were very positive so went ahead and booked. Well.......not disappointed at all. The hotel was very clean, the food was very good especially the stir-fry and the staff were all very friendly. The bar staff (Paco, Kevin, Alex, Josh) were great and worked none stop. When checking in you get invited to the Italian evening to say thank you for choosing their hotel and this is a must! The setting, food and staff yet again were brilliant. The bedrooms are lovely and spacious with a good size bathroom with a large walk-in shower and all have pool view. If you are a keen walker then Sa Coma is for you. There is a lovely walk to Cala Millor via the Castle where you can get a drink and capture some lovely photo's so make sure you take your camera. There is also a nice short walk to S'illott, ideal for an evening stroll especially after dinner.

Without doubt the rooms were the best we've seen. The food was lovely. Oh my god the stir fry (spicy) is amazing I had it every night. My wife is coeliac when it comes to food they even catered for that. Only downfall was that the entertainment was limited and there could have been more choice of all inclusive alcohol drinks. The staff where amazing always friendly and happy. You must go and watch pirates. It's a must. All in all it's a lovely place, peaceful and quiet what you need for a break from the real world.

Have just arrived back today after a wonderful weeks break at the Palmeas Playa and can not praise the hard working staff from the manager down who make your stay a memorable one.
We arrived in the early hours off the morning and the night porter made sure the holiday got off to a good start by making the check in as fast as possible so we could have a rest before we sampled the delights of the gastronomy on offer in the hotel. Special mention for the sweets that were available at every meal and also the cooking station where you could get a sumptuous Chinese stir fry. Have stayed in a Protur group hotel before and the rooms at the Palmeras are up too the high standard the group sets. Would have no problems in recommending this hotel for an enjoyable break.
