We stayed here with some friends from 4-11th August. The hotel itself is lovely and we really liked the fact that it wasn't huge, kids were safe and you always knew where they were. The food was always of a high standard and fresh, with plenty of choice. The staff were all lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Javi in the restaurant in particular was great with the kids and remembered their names every day. The reception team were fantastic and very helpful in the lead up to our stay as I was emailing them regarding upgrading rooms. The rooms are lovely, the bathrooms are of a high standard with lovely walk in showers. There were two draw backs for us. The first one is the sunbed issue. The pool doesn't get sun all day, other than around the baby pool. Our kids are 2 & 6 so we wanted to sit by the baby pool to be able to see them.if you wanted a sunbed there you had to be up early!!! I got up at 6am to get 4 sun beds by the baby pool, however you have to sit on them until 9am otherwise the staff chuck your towels off!!!! The majority of the people sat by the baby pool didn't have kids which was really frustrating!!! There needs to be something done about this. The second issue for us was the animation team! Bring back Kevin!!!!!! When we were there Kevin the team leader was brilliant then he left to go to another hotel and another guy came who was, well........erm.....awful!!!! In all the hotel was amazing but they need to sort the sunbed issue out for me to go back!

As a family of 4, 2 adults, 2 girls aged 13 & 9.We arrived on 29th July.
When booked our holiday we had to have two twin rooms. As our oldest was 13 and we had to pay adult fare. On arrival it was clear as the rooms were so large with 2 pull out beds we could easily fit into one room. Which we did for whole duration of the holiday. At other hotels we have always been put together in family room or 1 bed suite. We did have superior room here. Quite an expense for an empty room.

I cannot praise the hotel staff enough. On arrival we were greeted in a personal and friendly manor, explained where things were, times of meals, safe deposit, use of towels- €15 euros per towel borrowed and you get back at the end if your stay.

Rooms were spotless and much larger than we have had previously, the walk in shower was fantastic. Rooms cleaned daily and toiletries were constantly replaced. Tea/ coffee making in room and free use of a fridge.

Pool was never too crowded although the sunbed situation was a pain. If you wanted a bed in a certain location then you needed to be down to reserve at 7. You had to stay with beds until 9 otherwise the towels were removed. We did this once then opted for the beach. The down side was the hotel was half in the shade and for sun lovers like us you need to move beds half way through the day!!! Not the easiest thing to do.

Food was outstanding, the choice at breakfast and dinner made for a difficult decision daily. The stir fry at night was cooked to order and in spite of an odd queue was well worth it.
I don't normally eat desserts but was tempted by a few.... The only slight let down would be the salads, green beans and cauliflower not for me. Pool bar offered snacks and lunch, ideal for kids with pizza, burgers, hotdogs. The ice creams were constantly topped up and the 'magnums' a favourite. Red and blue slush a hit also.

Evening entertainment was the best by far we have had over past 5 years of holidaying in Majorca. Abba, Tom Jones tribute was fab and the best by far had to be George Penna- had every seat outside filled and in fits of laughter for the whole time he was on. So glad to have seen this act.

Animation team were very welcoming to my 9 year old and she really enjoyed the time in kids club which offered a variety of activities and you could go when required. She also loved the dances and mini disco.

The beach was a two minute walk and you could hire Sunbeds for €4.70 each. Lovely bay which was ideal for children. Banana boats and pedalos also available.

Personally I would like to say a huge Thank You to all the bar staff. Especially to Tomas and Alex, a great double act who had us in fits of laughter with their jokes, songs and dance routines. They remembered our favourite drinks and It was lovely to meet them, they worked hard and made our holiday. Javi was very patient chatting to my youngest in Spanish. Thank you for your help.

Overall I would highly recommend this hotel. We had a relaxing and fun time and well worth a stay.

We stayed here 26th July for two weeks. It is of a good standard, but not one of the best we have stayed it. We were really looking forward to the food at the Palmeras, I am a fairly fussy eater and my husband will eat most things. The first few days, the food was good and we always found something to eat, however after a while we really struggled to find something, especially at lunch time in the main buffet restaurant. On arrival at the hotel, we were given an invitation to attend the hotel's Italian Restaurant, which transforms its self from the pool bar in the evening, very nicely done. The food was much better (in our opinion) at the Italian, the garlic flatbread and pizzas were served to you, as were all your drinks, the hot buffet was self-service, so best of both really. We were informed that, so long as they had space, you could ask at reception to be booked in on any other evening, we went a total of 5 times over the fortnight.

By far the best attributes to this hotel were the staff, from reception to restaurants, to bar staff, to cleaning staff and to maintenance people, all worked hard and were very pleasant. The hotel was very clean. As most people have said, the pool is small for the amount of people at the hotel, but it's a hotel that's been there for many years, so that's all the space you get.

The hotel is situated in between Sa Coma and S'Illot, which was very handy. We actually enjoyed all the entertainment at the hotel, so a bonus for us. Enjoyed the holiday but not sure if we would go to that part of Majorca again.

just returned from Palmeras Playa, went last year too. It is a brilliant hotel.
stayed there twice before, over 18 years ago. much improved.
The rooms are clean, which is important to me, Dining area superb, lots of food to choose from ( too much really). pool area good, although pool cold first thing in morning.
We had room in A block, emailed hotel prior to going and they gave us the rooms we asked for. Thank you David
Had my family come out for the second week, 8 of them. Once again provided them with rooms we asked for. thanks Claire.
Staff are excellent, cheerful, helpful, friendly. Couldn't ask for better staff including reception, dining area, pool bar and evening bar.
had a few problems, but dealt with immediately.
only one thing disappointing was evening entertainment, too many singers, would like to have seem more shows. on the last night saw George Pena, hilarious.
went for nice walks along the promenade in the evening. even took a cab to Porto Cristo, beautiful.
would I go there again...most definitely.
Hotel so central to everything.

We stayed here in late June and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the hotel. Food was the best we had ever experienced in any all inclusive, including an invitation to a separate poolside Italian restaurant for one evening. Sweets were the piece de resistance, but the main courses were varied, high quality and delicious also. The rooms were quite luxurious and well cleaned/maintained. There were sliding "bamboo" style sliding doors to separate the sleeping from the lounge area and the bathroom was spacious with a walk in drench shower and contemporary suite.
ALL staff in this hotel are courteous, friendly and give excellent service whatever the time of day.
Bar service was good and the range of drinks and cocktails included in the all inclusive menu was comprehensive.
Entertainment was of a high standard and varied throughout the week.
We weren't at peak season, but, although a parent of 2 myself, I can see the peak season being a nightmare for those who have paid a little bit more for their relaxing holiday, only to be irritated by unruly, over excited kids running around I n the evening (it's ok as long as they're not irritating their own parents!)
Perfect holiday though, and would return (out of school hols) without question.
2 things to improve :- Air conditioning in the gym, it was un useable after 20 mins due to the heat and the WIFI was so bad, I had to resort to 3G for some unexpected work communication.
Finishing comment.
Congratulations to Protur for the high standard of this hotel, the food, and for the excellent and extremely courteous service that was received from ALL of the staff who gave their all 24/7

Room Tip: All rooms here are superior and look over the outdoor seating/pool area.

This was our 5th stay at Palmeras Playa and yet again another great holiday. What makes this hotel is the staff. All the reception staff are fantastic. I am Facebook friends with Claire and my wife is a regular e mailer to her. With regards to the other hotel staff they all go about their jobs with efficiency and smiles on their faces. The manager Marc should be congratulated on his staff.

Very spacious and well maintained.
High quality and superb selection.
Evening entertainment can be varied but usually of a high standard. I only say varied because personally I can't stand flamenco dancing. Abba tribute and Tom Jones certainly gets you up on your feet. During the day the animation team are very laid back but there is always something going on. The kids club is great but mainly aimed at under 9s.
As I said all fantastic. A special thank you to the bar staff who go out of their way to not only serve you but have a bit of a Craic with adults and kids a like. Paco, Joyet, Kevin, Kiki, Chelo, Alex and everyone else you all contribute to a great holiday.

Overall this hotel is of a very high standard and would recommend it in all honesty to anyone.

In conclusion, as I said earlier, this was our 5th stay and after 5 years my only gripe is there are no soup spoons in the restaurant. If that's my only complaint after 5 visits it can only be one of the best hotels on the Island. If you're thinking about staying here just book it.

See you all in July 2015.

Here the standards are high. This is a good international four star hotel. The staff are the most courteous and professional team that I have ever encountered in Spain. The food quality and choice is excellent. At every meal there is a Mallorcan corner (close to the bread station) which should not be ignored including the most delicious specialty bread that seemed to be overlooked by 99% of guests. A lovely choice of dining inside or on the terrace. An unhurried and far more serene experience than we have encountered in other AI's. The bedrooms are very clean comfortable spacious and stylish with an excellent maid service. A handy launderette is situated on the ground floor. The ice creams and afternoon cakes were again an excellent standard but the drinks perhaps slightly dissapointing. The coffee was all out of a machine (okish) soft drinks good, wine awful and spirits not too good. We have had better at other AI's.
The pool is lovely but pretty small especially in high season. We did feel the animation team could have worked at including the large no of inbetweeners on hols with their parents who mainly seemed rather bored. One table tennis table and pool table just wasnt enough. There is no room at the hotel for a kick about or place for older kids to meet. That being said the little ones were well provided for. Would we return? No but that is not a refection on the hotel but more becuse of where it is and the rather restrictive pool area. Sa Coma is a tourist resort. it has no authenticity or atmosphere. Very few beach bars but lots and lots of touristy shops and unhygenic looking eateries. The beach however is lovely! A short stroll from the hotel white sand and turqoise sea. If you time it right (3pm on) there is a large strip of natural shade along the back. Pleanty of breeze and great body boarding. Would recommend beach bar on the far right that looks like a circus tent. The young Spanish lad who works there is a keen diver and is lovely. Nothing the hotel can do about the town I appreciate and that is why it deserves the 5*'s of this review. We had a hire car for our full stay which for us was essential. Arta is a beautiful inland town and spotting "Currywurst" in Cala Ratjada kept our boys chuckling for a while!! Next stop for our holiday was Prt Pollensa.......Stunning..... but hotel standard not a patch! Can't have everything ;)
