Reviewed 29 August 2014

We went 14th to 21st August with our two young children. As previous reviewers have said all staff are so friendly and all made the effort to speak to the children.
The room was spacious and kept very clean. The beds were hard but not uncomfortable.
The beach was a 2 min walk from the hotel which was nice although a lot of see weed which didnt seem to worry the kids!
The food in the restaurant was lovely at each meal and beautifully presented, although laid out a little oddly. The stir fries were a real hit and didnt mind the wait for one while it was cooked fresh in front of us. The fresh pancakes at breakfast were also a huge hit with everyone despite the queue. The food in the pool side snack bar was a little over cooked at times but made a nice change at lunch times from the main restaurant.
The entertainment crew worked hard and werent too pushy during the day and the kids loved the mini disco in the evening. Evening entertainment was a bit hit and miss the week we went.
There were plenty of sunbeds for everyone and although the poolside was pretty crowded it wasnt a problem. The sunbeds beside the baby pool got the sun until about 4pm and the sunbeds alongside block A got the sun from about mid day until evening. The sunbeds alongside the showers got the sun all day and those people who were on a 2 week holiday which atarted the week before knew this and reserved them either with towels or by sitting on them from before 6am (on the day of our departure we witnessed them sitting on them reading by torch light ) so good luck if you want one of those! The pool staff only seemed to enforce the 'no reserving sun beds before 9am' rule on occasions by removing some of the towels but there was no consistency and the towels were never removed from the most popular sun beds which was a little strange? On our last day one employee appeared to be acting a little controversially by going round at 8.30am and removing towels from the beds where one person was reserving a couple of beds after breakfast but leaving the ones which were unattended - trying to cause an argument maybe? He was also seen spraying water on peoples belongings who weren't on their sunbeds which spoilt the poolside relaxed atmosphere a little that morning.
Overall a fantastic hotel and would definitely go back again!

We returned from our holiday only today and could not wait to congratulate this hotel on their impeccable standards and fantastic service. All of the reception staff, Alba, David and Dominique were polite and could not do enough to help. They were always there to help and nothing was too much much trouble. Aaron the first choice rep was a credit to first choice, polite well mannered and always smiling. The food selection was amazing, always replaced by fresh food regularly and desserts were perfect! Kristof and the 2 animation team girls were so entertaining and made our daughters holiday so enjoyable. The pool was beautiful, the area was always cleaned and the rooms also. The sunbed issue was not too bad.. It just takes a bit of courtesy from other guests to not reserve beds on both sides of the pool ready for when the sun moved, leaving others with nowhere to sit .. And then going to the beach! We do not blame the hotel for this, just inconsiderate guests! Would we return? 100%!!!

we have just returned from a wk at this hotel 20th- 27th, and what a lovely place were customer service is second to none from reception staff to cleaners every single member of staff can not do enough for you and always greet you with a smile, we travelled as a 40+ couple , with the intention of getting out and about during the day from which we did from wat we could see you had the usual sad sun lounger brigade so if you had the intention of staying around the pool all day then yes you would have to get up early....so I guess maybe the management should stick to the rules of no towels on sunbeds unless your actually sat on them giving every guest the opportunity to get a slot....right now the rooms we was situated in block A and was given a junior suite which was a lovely clean room with sliding partition seperating our bedroom and the overall size was fantastic the en - suite was very modern and rather big with clean towels provided every day so a big thumbs up to the cleaning staff...the food at palmeras was of a very good standard with always plenty of choice on offer so well done to all catering staff .....the bar staff and entertainment staff worked tirelessly to keep all guest well watered and entertained....but like I mentioned we travelled has a couple so families were having a great time with the usual hotel entertainment but if like us you like to get out and explore there are plenty of bars with in easy walkin distance so yes it was a great little break...sa coma itself is a lovely little place and I would definitely return again....well done playa palmeras keep up the good work

Stayed for two weeks in mid August this year. We had a superb room in block c (1235) which faced the main street and not the pool - this is ideal if you don't want the noise from the entertainment in the evenings. Shower was sublime and room facilities were very good.
Food was fine but not as good as many other four star hotels we have stayed in. The best evenings are the Gala Dinners - the chocolates made by the hotel are wonderful. We ate outside each day under the shaded terrace, this was easy to do, we never had a problem getting a table and the service was excellent. Inside was much noisier and cramped - so try to avoid this.
Pool area was fine - good bar and friendly staff. Limited space but then compared to other hotels in the same resort the hotel was better than most for this. The beach is less than a two minute walk away - this is a great beach for children. Yes the popular sun beds went early BUT you could easily find one up to 10am each morning so ignore what other reviewers say.
Now ... the entertainment was a bit weak to say the least - no real 'shows' as the animation team consists of there people, so all entertainment is brought in. Most of which 5/7 nights is singers and the common theme was Tom Jones songs! The magic show is okay as is the circus show but not very child orientated and not up to the standard of other 4 star hotels we have stayed in. However we chose to go for a walk on the promenade instead which is 3-4km long, we hired bikes etc and did our own thing.

Room Tip: If you don't want noise from the evening entertainment don't opt for a pool view room as all...

We have stayed here three times and have loved it -2 adults 2 children.
Lovely staff, very clean rooms and hotel.
More sunbeds this time, although the pool became quite crowded often.
So near to the beach, just great.

Room Tip: Be on the 7th floor in A or C block.
