Just come back from holiday at the Playa Dorada Hotel.Had a fab time,The Hotel was kept very clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly and helpfull especially in the resaurant. The food was excelent and varied from day to day, the paela was especially nice as we have had it at other hotels and not thought much of it. Tony the waiter was lovely and reserved our table for us as there was 4 adults and 1 child and you would sometimes find 2 people sitting at a table set for 4 or 5 people. The rooms were in need of a little up dating and the beds are a little hard as i have a bad back. but we had an excelent view of the pool and the sea.The main beach is just 2 minuets away and is clean and safe to paddle or swim in. If you go along to the end of the promenade there are plenty of shops and restaurants where you could eat if you fancy a change from the all inclusive menu. Or you could go to sillot to the small beach there where it is nice and shallow for children to catch small fish and to find hermit crabs. On the whole we had a fab holiday and would definately go back again.

Stayed here two years ago and any potential customers need to realise how bad this hotel is.The Hotel is geared to cater for the german tourist not British/Irish.

I lived on Bread Rolls for most of the week. Also spent a fortune at the local restaurants as the food was so poor at the Hotel.Quality of the local alcohol was also poor but one invariably find this at A/I.

Usual 2/3 star nonsense ,up early to find a sun lounger, rubbish food, poor entertainment,
limited facilities.Overbooked on first night tried to persuade us to stay in another Hotel.
Had to demand our room.Nothing for Teenagers in terms of entertainment.

Misold the holiday, went to ABTA for some support.Managed to secure £200 compensation.Met some nice Germans ,Welsh and English people and this did a bit to offset the disaster.will never go back.

Room:
+ve : clean, spacious, air con works, sea view
-ve : balcony is overlooked by neighbours, i have a 15 month old daughter and she couldn't get to sleep cos the entertainment on the terrace in the evening was just too loud. this was at 10pm. was told that all rooms overlook the terrace/seaview and they couldn't do anything with the entertainment, have to pay for tv ie. deposit, no hairdryer/ kettle provided.

Location/Amenities:
+ve: 2 min walk to beach, spar just across the road, beauitful beach & scenery

General: I thought the hotel and its amenities was average. It wasn't a disaster. Food ok..breakfast is the same everyday.. lunch/ evening meal was slightly better. The beach was nice though.

reception had been updated recently, comfortable and clean. Rooms were in need of modernising, all balconies overlooked by neighbours, not private at all. All rooms had a sea view.
We had all inclusive 7 nights at this hotel, the food was very samey, and often cold chips. Lacking in choice, which catered for the Germans. Good job there was a Spar shop across the road where they served HOT baguettes at a reasonable 3 euros each. The bar snacks were usually pizza and cake.
The entertainment was lacking, but what there was was very poor. Didnt feel it was value for money. Have stayed in better for less money.
Holiday was spoilt by bad weather, so everything looked gloomy.
The resort closes at midnight, so not for the party goers amoungst us.

We always go all inclusive when on holiday and have never had cause to complain, but unfortunatley this hotel fell below the standards of which we have recieved from other hotels. Upon arrival the outside of the hotel and reception area gave a good impression.
Rooms are basic, but clean, beds are small with smelly pillows, sheets not changed during the 5 nights we stayed, clean towels are provided everyday, there are no simple toilteries provided or even though you have the facilities to make tea or coffee, these were not provided, as unlike other all inclusive hotels. There is one small restaurant with limited selection of food which again we felt was below the 'credit crunch' standard. Breakfast was the same everyday, which was eggs, beans, hot dog sausages, bread rolls and cold meats and all drinks were from vending machines. Dinner and evening meals were usually the same, but seemed to improve as the days went by, they were edible for survival but below our expected standards. Dont be late for meal times as they remove all food before the end time stated. There are no snacks outside meal times, apart from some cold pizza and cake in the afternoon. The bar was clean. There were no international alcoholic drinks, only a small choice of local drinks, which we thought tasted cheap and nasty and the 3 cocktails they offer are pre-made. Dont expect a drink, (even soft or hot drinks) after 11:50pm, as the bar staff are reluctant to serve and close the bar, and by 5 minutes after midnight they turn all the lights out in the bar area and the outside terrace is in pitch blackness, shortly after, you are ordered to go inside and they lock the doors. There is no entertainment for adults, only repetative child entertainment which is ran by two teenagers. The pool area wasnt swept, cleaned or washed down over the 6 days we were there, so your feet stuck to the spills of dried sticky drinks and encouraged ants. Although the hotel is 50 meters from the beach, there are dangerous rocks between the beach and the sea, so you have to walk abit further for the safe sandy beach. Overall, we were disappointed with this hotel, some of the staff, the limited selection of food and drink and entertainment.

me and my girlfriend stayed here for a week at beggining of sept. we loved the hotel and some of the reviews dont do it justice! at first we stayed in apartments that are opposite the hotel and are huge but very dated so we asked to be moved into the main hotel. the staff were great and did this for us with no problem, the room in the hotel was fab very clean and modern and the view from the balcony was breathtaking! the food was ok and there was always something to eat but we found it to be a little boring and repetitive so ate out most evenings in some very nice restaurants in sa coma( the brittania pub has the best kebab i have ever had!!) lovely beach less than 5 mins away, we had no problem with sunbeds and got one at all times of day. sa coma is lovely and has some nice bars and restaurants. overall we loved it and will definatly be returning again!

I just comed back from an all inclusive 7 nights holiday at Playa Dorada. I went there with my wife and our 11 months old son. We have found the place to be very clean, close to beach, spacious room and terrace, nice pool. Food was very good. Have been reading some of other reviews and I am surprised how people can say the food is no good and not enough choice. I am asking myself what are those people eating,as you can find almost every type of meat, vegetables, fruits, etc?
The only bad thing about the hotel is entertaining, and maybe the coffee, but that is all I can fault. For the price we paid we did not expected to be a Hilton, but we felt like beeing in a Hilton.
You can have a very good time in Sa Coma even if you go there with kids. The beach on the left of the hotel is fantastic and the water is perfect.
There is a charge of 2 euros a day for TV,same for air conditioning, and same for safe box. There is no soap in the room. Supermarket across the street, though.
Enjoy your holiday!
