“Excellent Hotel”
Reviewed 17 March 2011

We have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel, in line with many reviewers it was very quiet, the resort of Sa Coma was pretty much closed! However this did not make any difference as we were quite happy within the hotel. We did walk across to Cala Millor and Cala Bona most days through the lovely nature reserve which can be accessed right outside the hotel.

On our return every day we took advantage of the ability to use the spa facilities including the large pool with various massage stations and the steam room was one of the best we've come across. On site gym facilities were also excellent with modern equipment and plenty of each to avoid queues.

We were upgraded to a junior suite overlooking the pool which meant we had the extra seating area, the rooms are very modern and very comfortable and kepty spotless, bath robes are renewed evry two days. It was rather strange at first when moving around that you didn't see anyone, we estimated that there were probably a maximum of 20 people stying there outside of the weekend period when more seemed to arrive for a couple of days but it was surprising how quickly you got used to it!

The buffet restaurant was only open on the Saturday evening (guess it would not be practical to prepare a buffet for so few people, which meant that 2 of the 3 main restaurants opened on differeing nights meaning you could eat in all of them and still go back to your favourite. Every meal we had was excellent with service to match. Breakfast was also very good with the chef cooking hot food to order and great variety of cold options available, we ate so well we did not feel the need to have a meal at lunchtime!

The staff at this hotel are very friendly everyone spoke from the general manager (who we saw often around the hotel he certainly doesn't spend his time hidden away in an office!) to the gardeners. We have already decided that we would love to return, probably when the weather is a little warmer so we could use the pool and have a drink at the outside bar area which looked lovely but it was just too cold at night!

We loved staying at this hotel for the wonderful relaxing atmosphere and exceptional service. The furnishing is beautiful and cosy. Food was great with big selection, especially paella put on the menu just for us. Added bonuses were spa, cycle hire, mini golf, etc for free! It made our anniversary truely special

This is a beautiful hotel in a fairly ugly resort – there are other hotels nearby and the shops cater to that market (ideal if you want to watch Spurs, which we did one night, but no good if you want a decent restaurant serving local produce). The beach is a few minutes’ walk away and is quite pretty and sandy, but very busy – we only went there the once. We’d absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to take some serious time out – we spent our 10 days almost exclusively in the hotel’s environs, reading and relaxing and being utterly pampered and spoilt by the amazing staff. Our room was beautiful and spacious with two balconies, a sitting room, a large bathroom, an enormous, comfortable bed and 2 flat-screen TVs (which get channels in several European languages, including English). We spent our time by the main pool – the curtained cabanas are very comfortable and there were few problems in getting one. Marga, the pool-bartender, deserves special mention for her delightful service and wonderful, meticulous approach to her work. Food was great – I’m a vegetarian and always had plenty to choose from; my husband, the omnivore, was in his element. Breakfasts especially were fantastic – they go on until 11am so there’s no need to get up very early; coffee is fresh and plentiful; and there are numerous dishes, fresh fruit, pastries to choose from. The staff in the main restaurant, too, are excellent. This is a 5-star hotel in all but a very few details (there’s no turn-down service at night, for example, but that’s no big deal). I really hope we’ll go back next year to unwind and relax once again.

My husband and I stayed at the Biomar Gran for six nights. First holiday without the kids so thought we would try 5star. From beginning to end the hotel was perfect. We were up-graded to a junior suite which was beautiful, lovely bottle of red wine, fruit and fresh flowers, all complimentary. The room was spotless and tastefully decorated. Never a problem getting a sun-bed and no loud music playing! .The lady working at the poolside bar is great!
Drinks are quite expensive but no more so than we expected in a 5star hotel. Every member of staff from maids to management were extremely friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was always fresh and of a very high standard, the restaurant itself was also a pleasure to be in, quiet and a good ambience even in mid July!
If a relaxing peaceful break in a fabulous hotel is what you are looking for then the Biomar Gran delivers on all fronts! The only negative I can write is that the resort of Sa Coma is not the best in Majorca, we hired a car and found much nicer places to spend our time away from the hotel. All in all, FABULOUS

This hotel appears to be run less than 1/2 full. Whilst we were there one 'block' completely unused and the other not full. As a result a real haven of peace and tranquility. We were upgraded to 2 junior suites, one for us and another for our teenage daughters (14 and 16, who loved it here too).
Service great and staff really friendly.
Massive choice for breakfast and dinner, and although a little repetitive excellent quality. We managed to eat something different every night for the week we were there.
Spa and gym very good, but we didn't have any treatments.
Such a lovely place to unwind we couldn't really be bothered to leave the hotel, but when we did we have to admit that we didn't like Sa Coma or Calla Millor, but a tiny bit further afield both Cala Bona and Porto Cristo very nice.
We moved to south west of the island for our second week, and wished we could have taken the hotel with us!
