We visited this hotel for one week beginning 26th August - 2 adults and 2 children. Not at all sure where the negative reviews have come from other than to say those people are extremely picky. The cleanliness of the Hotel is second to none. The sun loungers around the pool area are fantastic. The food quality and variety was very good. The staff were helpful and very accomodating. I struggle to find any negatives with this hotel other than to say it could perhaps be in a nicer area however if you are only venturing out for water etc then its no problen at all. We met some wonderful people whilst we were there with wonderful children and I would go back there tomorrow if I could. The presence of the manager and his interest in whether we were having a good holiday was positively refreshing. Probably one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Well done to all the staff who work so hard.

Room Tip: We had Rm 116 which had a lovely view of the pool. Very spacious and very clean.

It's a very well run hotel although I wouldn't say it would qualify as 5 star service in other parts of the world. It is friendly on the whole although there were a few surly types here and there. The build quality is pretty good with a high quality finish although architecturally it's not a pretty building and the furnishings are quite bland. Also, and amusingly, the beds are on coasters so if you're having a "romantic" experience, prepare to travel some distance on the beds. The Spa is good and not too overpriced. The food however is pretty awful. We live in London and travel a great deal and have been fortunate enough to enjoy some of the best food it's possible to get and we don't mind paying for it. This gives you some context for our comments on The Grill at Biomar Sa Coma. The food is below average and extremely overpriced. It's your only option at lunch if you're having a day by the pool, so it's real issue. The food is all cooked on a hot plate, not a flame Grill as you might expect, so it all tastes the same. We also gave it a try one evening and it was truly terrible. The comedy moment was a Strawberry and Chantilly Cream desert which consisted of a spoon of cream with one strawberry quartered. I won't go into detail on the rest of it, but it was not of the standard you'd get in even the most average of gastropubs in the UK.

We visited to get a quick blast of sun at the end of summer, so didn't subject the trip to the usual planning, and were Mallorca novices, so we were fooled by the description on the site of a hotel near a marine reserve. We assumed it would be in a less touristy part of the Island, but Sa Coma really is Brit holiday hell - crappy theme pubs and Fry-ups. if you're into design and prefer a more premium experience you'd do well to avoid this area all together and head to Cala D'or or Deia.

However, if you are not the most imaginative of travellers, the hotel does appear to be a cut above the general standard in the more touristy parts of the island.

We thank you for your comments. We have sorted out the issue of the beds. We are sorry that your stay in this area of Majorca did not live up to your expectations but we can assure you that there are lots of things to see & do if you take the trouble to ask for information. Best regards on behalf of all the staff.

This 5* hotel is excellent value for money when you compare it to other 5* hotels i have stayed in around europe. The large beer at 4 euro 50 cents is around 2 euro 45 cents cheaper than the last 5* hotel we stayed in which was in Malta. The accomodation is very spacious and spotlessly clean. There is also two beautiful pools a Spa, gym and absolutely loads of activities for those of you who want to be involved in such activities. The attention to detail is not quite up to the best of the best 5* hotels but it is still very good

Decided to go on a last minute child free holiday before the birth of our baby .Upgraded to a suite on arrival ,had a beautiful large room with ample wardrobe space in both the bedroom & seperate lounge area .We had two balconies and a large bathroom with double sinks and a seperate shower .Rooms cleaned to a very high standard .
The pool areas were immaculate with the comfiest sun loungers and balanese day beds ever.
The staff at the hotel were welcoming ,helpful and always plesant and the food was amazing ,we stayed for 14nights and there was always plenty of choice at both breakfast & dinner . We had a very relaxing holiday and will definately return in the future .The only negative was that the holiday had to come to an end .

We are a family of two adults and two children aged 6 & 3. We were struggling to find a hotel that would accommodate us within one room rather than having to book two, or were facing ridiculous suite prices.
At this hotel we booked a junior suite and it was perfect for us. Good value for money.
It is the best hotel that we have stayed in, in Spain.
Built in 2008, everywhere is spotless, modern, spacious, with attention to detail in its design/layout. An actual five star hotel!!
Great quality food and variation for buffet dinners - something to cater for everyone. Plenty of choice for breakfast buffet too. There's also the choice of Spanish / Asian / Italian restaurants in the evening, with The Terrace Grill for lunch.
Pools were perfect. No problems getting a sunbed / cabana - hotel has a policy where you can't reserve sunbeds until 9am. We didnt have a problem after then either. All sunbeds are cushioned, not those dodgy plastic kind that collapse easily !
Staff very friendly and helpful.
The numerous facilities within the Protur resort keep everyone entertained - Kids club, mini-golf, swing park, tennis, golf. The spa is wonderful and treatments are very reasonably priced. There's also an aquaparc within the resort that is excellent value for money and ideal for families with young children.
Walking distance from the sandy beach.
Sa Coma is quite small as a resort, choices of bars/restaurants/shops all within walking distance. Set up for tourists, but not a nightlife hotspot - no clubs or touts to bother you - they've left that to Magaluf !
We will definitely be staying here again, although we shall probably venture out further than Sa Coma itself for a change of scenery.
A great, relaxing hotel that created a great holiday for us all.

My Husband and I have just returned from this Heavenly Paradise of a Hotel... true luxury! We booked the A la Carte option which included taxi transfer both ways, we were made to feel so special. All the staff at all levels treated us like part of their family & couldn't do enough for us to make our stay so enjoyable. We fully recommend the a la Carte Restaurants, especially the Asian & Spanish cuisine. The amenities are wonderful including the Biomar hydrothermal Spa which gives you a true sence of relaxation & wellbeing. This is the 1st time on holiday that we just wanted to stay at the hotel & not bother hiring a car - we had a complete rest & such an enjoyable time being pampered. Lastly but not leastly... the sunbeds which were the most comfortable ones which we have ever had on our holidays, it took you all your time to get off them!! We would definately return to this Hotel & recommend it to anyone who wants to "chill" & live in luxury.

I know Mallorca well, and used to work along the coast from Sa Coma. This hotel is almost there but a few things let it down. We had a room on the 2nd floor, junior suite but it was invaded by ants, they were in the wardrobe, in my bed, in draws. I don't expect that to happen in a 5*. They came twice to kill them but are obviously not putting stuff down to 'block' their path as they just returned (twice). I actually found one on me on the aeroplane! A bulb went in the room, although attended to v. quickly. There are not enough hangers in the wardrobe and in the second wardrobe (mini) there were none! the smaller balcony also did not have chairs on it which made it a bit of a waste of time. Our room was a side room overlooking the pool and unfortunately part of a very busy road. We couldn't really hear the traffic with the doors shut but sitting out in the daytime was noisy and although I'm used to traffic noise, as I live in a city, I would have quite liked a rest from it. Entertainment is pretty non-existent, but that suited us. Kids club is a hut with one member of staff, so if you go thinking it's all singing all dancing, don't! I didn't use it and I think the children seemed to be enjoying themselves it didn't really strike me as being that well organised. The reception staff were excellent, especially Alvaro, but the Terrace Grill service at lunchtimes was slow and very poor compared to the rest of the hotel. One day we waited 15 minutes just for a menu! they were disorganised and didn't have enough staff. The hotel was spotless, the facilities like indoor pool and spa were wonderful. However, they need more sunbeds around one of the pools, it was half empty and they could easily fit more in. People kept reserving them which was really annoying, especially the 4 poster ones. We weren't bothered about that but i witnessed an argument one day which was uncomfortable and shouldn't have been happening in a 5* hotel! We didn't try the other restaurants I thought an extra charge for these was pretty poor really as we'd already spent a lot of money on this holiday. If they offered a bigger discount, perhaps we would have tried it.

For people who don't know Mallorca and expect an upmarket resort you will be disappointed with Sa Coma, the main beach was packed and very 'chavvy'. However, to the left there are pine woods and tracks, and I'd recommend buying deckchairs and sitting in the shade of the trees away from the crowd. Not on a Sunday though as all the Spanish arrive for picnics in the woods, which looked great fun but if you were looking for peace and quiet you wouldn't get it. There is horseriding nearby but we didn't try it as we were only there for 7 days.

Having been to a 5 star in the canaries last year, this came a very poor second (although the spa was great). All in all, they could still do a lot better but thank you to those staff that helped us.
ps we never saw our rep, or even had a note from them to see if everything was ok, or directing us to details of our return taxi transfer. I found that a bit annoying really.

Room Tip: If you're in Block B, ask for a room that doens't overlook the road, it's VERY noisy!

Thank you for your comments. Unfortunately ants is a problem, especially in the heat. But we are sure that your chamber maid was diligent. Normally children can either stay in the hotel with the children's entertainer or they can be accompanied to a sister hotel where there are more activities. We have taken note of the rest of your comments and thank you for them we will take them on board to help correct things where necessary. We thank you for your time.
