“Cant wait to return!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2012

I have wanted to visit this hotel for a few years and finally decided to visit for a special anniversary.
The staff are attentive, pleasant and very professional. Five stars is not always a reliable indicator of what a hotel is like but on this occasion it was evident why the hotel has this rating.
Our room was very spacious and on arrival there was a complimentary selection of melon, a bottle of red wine as well as fresh flowers . The decor is contemporary and the bed was the biggest I've ever seen. The balcony looked out over the Majorcan countryside and a nature reserve as well as having a partial sea view. The hotel pools had day beds around them . We were entitled to one circuit of the aqua spa per day which we used.
The food was wonderful almost TOO good to eat! There were lots of tiny desserts arranged on glass and the name of the dessert was iced onto the glass. The attention to detail was phenomenal. The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained. This hotel is in easy walking distance of Sa Coma beach. A wonderful break and we can't wait to return KimnPhill

Room Tip: I don't think there any bad rooms here.

Last year I submitted a review of this hotel after a one week stay. We enjoyed it so much in 2011 that we returned in July 2012. Once again we have had the perfect holiday. From arrival to departure we were treated like special guests as well as friends. The staff are so polite, so happy and so eager to please and they are overseen by the director Antoni who has a wonderful rapport with both guests and staff alike.
I have never seen such a proactive manager/director as Antoni and his dedication has certainly been taken up by all of the staff we met, from domestic staff to waiting staff, chefs to barstaff, all are so keen to make the holiday a wonderful one.
The hotel facilities are second to none with the buffet restaurant and four specialist restaurants (specialist restaurants incur a small extra charge), two outdoor pools (one adult and one for families) and a small indoor pool should you need it. A spa is available with some spa time included in the price and an activities centre, available to all hotels in the Protur group, is onyl a 100 metre walk and offers tennis, archery, shooting, diving and other sports. The hotel and activity centre both have good quality, well maintained cycles for guest use at no charge although a small deposit is required at the activity centre.
The food at the hotel is amazing with so many choices at breakfast (7.30am to 11am) and dinner (7pm to 10pm). Freshly grilled to order meats and fish are amazingly well cooked by the grill chef and there is also a selection of cooked and cold choices available. Each Thursday the staff work like Trojans to transfer the entire dining experience outside to the Terrace with charcoal barbecue taking the place of the grill plate and extra food, including sushi made by the resident Japanese chef added to the experience.
Breakfast includes sparkling wine, mineral water and a selection of fresh and Nespresso coffees to complement the food. Drinks at dinner are charged but measures of spirits are certainly generous. Wine is purchased by the bottle but a clever and useful idea is that, if you do not drink the entire bottle at one sitting a label is provided and the restaurant then store the bottle until the next evening and so on until the bottle is finished. This means that, as in our case, where only one person drinks a small glass of wine with dinner the bottle will last three or four nights.
The rooms are well equipped and, once again we were upgraded to a suite on arrival. The cleanliness of the hotel is faultless. Rooms, public areas and pools are spotlessly maintained with room towels and bedding changed every day. Maintenance is excellent and any problems are always quickly dealt with. The gardens are beautifully maintained by the staff and certainly enhance the hotel.
Sa Coma is never going to be the best resort in Majorca but it is what it is and, to be honest, there is no real need to leave the hotel if you don't want to.
We asked about car hire while at the hotel and, yes, they also arrange that through Protur cars. The vehicle was good delivered to and collected from the hotel and even when I mistakenly handed the car back 13 hours late it was sorted with no extra charge. Included in the hire was a complete protection package covering punctures, recovery, lost keys etc etc.
All in all, I cannot praise Antoni, his staff and the Protur Biomar Gran Hotel and Spa highly enough.
We fully intend to return and I would like to thank Antoni and all of the staff for making our visit to Majorca such a wonderful holiday.

Room Tip: If you can, a room overlooking the pool is best.

Firstly i would like to thank the manager and all his staff who do a great job at the Hotel.

Good points-
Free upgrade on arrival, the junior suite was fantastic.Rooms are modern design.
No noise from other rooms.
Hotel well spread out.
Grill for lunch was very good. Try the coconut cake.
Pools were not heated but still good to swim in.
Cleaner for our room (carmen) was very good.
Buffet was good
nice bathrooms
Wi-Fi in rooms
Manager was always about ensuring everything was OK with guests.
Sun beds were great. You can lie in and go down to pool at 10am and barely any beds taken.

Bad points-
Italian was poor. Tasteless pizza. They did take it of our bill though.
They have made one pool adult only but guests don't seem to stick to it.
The beds in the rooms are terrible.Too hard and uncomfortable. Not what you expect from a 5 start hotel.
Sa Coma- Not very nice at all. Bit like a spanish Blackpool.

A really nice hotel with great staff which is let down by its location. We ended up going through to Cala Bona at night which has a really nice Marina.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main road. Do the searunner trip. great fun.

This is a laid back but high quality luxury hotel in all aspects. We (2 kids and 2 adults) stayed for 5 nights in a duplex apartment and were very sad to leave. The restaurants serve high quality food, the rooms are modern and well appointed, the staff are superb, spa is really nice and the property is well laid out with nice pools. Various activities are available in the complex if that is what you like but we spent most of our time between pool, spa, restaurant and room - there are even spa treatments for kids as young as 4! Each night there was a really good buffet or they had one other restaurant open which you can go to (Italian, Spanish or Asian - Japanese). We tried the Spanish and the Japanese restaurants. The Spanish was a really nice 7 course menu and the Japanese was a la carte. To be honest we were disappointed in the Japanese food - the sushi rice was not great and some of the other courses were not at all authentic - although it should be noted my wife is Japanese and we have all lived in Japan for at least 10 years so our standards are probably pretty demanding. The hotel manager - Tony is fantastic and he ensures his team are great too - they are always friendly, polite and go out of their way to help. An all together WONDERFUL experience. Thank you

This was our second visit to the Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

Firstly, probabally everything has been said about the resort so I will not reiterate those points. All I will say is that sa Coma will not change for you so you have to change for Sa Coma so you can either take it or leave it. Personally I think its OK.

For this review I will concentrate on the infrastructure of the running of the Hotel and there is no doubt that great credit must be given to the General Manager, Antonio who from us entering the Hotel welcomed us and arranged for a room overlooking the pool.

I have visited many Hotels over the years and I have never witnessed the presence of the General Manager to be overseeing the running of the Hotel in the manner he did. He and the other Management staff ensure that this Hotel is run like clockwork ensuring guests thoroughly enjoy their stay.

The Restaurant Manager was extremely pleasant with all his staff very polite and helpful.

This politeness from all the staff about the Hotel is something that the Management can certainly be proud of.

So, I do not need to list as to what is good about this Hotel as everything about it is perfect and to conclude the credit for that has to go to the General Manager and his Management team around him.

Thank you for an excellent stay and we will certainly be returning.

Have just had a splendid fortnight again as we did last year.No need to repeat the detail in my
report on 26 June 2011.The only changes were that the food and the staff were even better ,as also was the weather .The night entertainment was not well supported and quite low key but we were very impressed by the jazz singing of Rosa Saintandreu.Again there were only a few English voices to be heard in the hotel but plenty on the beach.

Room Tip: 3rd or 4th floor in first block overlooking pool get morning sun.
