“Absolutely 'Spot On'”

We stayed in this hotel for 10 nights in July 2013 and I have to say that this was the best all round hotel that we have ever had the pleasure of staying. Staff, food, room, service and cleanliness was all of first class quality. We were blessed with excellent weather and the air conditioning in the room was extremely efficient and surprisingly quiet. The room was modern and with comfortable beds. There are two pools which have very comfortable sun beds and large parasol's. One pool was specifically for the over 16's which was brilliant for us as we have already done the 'Kids' thing and enjoyed the tranquillity. The swim-up bar was a bonus and popular with the guests. Overall, a fantastic hotel and I look forward to returning in the very near future.

My husband and I spent another great week at the Biomar (14-21 September) arriving on out 28th wedding anniversary to a chilled bottle of cava and chocolate covered strawberries! We have stayed twice previously but always in March and always promised ourselves that we would visit in the summer to be able to take more advantage of the pool and outside seating at the piano bar etc.

On coming out of the lift on arrival we were amazed to find that we had been allocated the very same room we had on our previous trip, it was top floor overlooking the road and the farm opposite. Having noted a previous gentleman’s comments regarding the cockerel at the farm I can honestly say that whilst I occasionally heard him it did not spoil things, would rather look onto the view I had and hear sounds of the country than other buildings and noisy bars!! Other comments have related to the road, again whilst this was busier than in winter it did not impact upon our stay.

Weather was lovely and not too hot to prevent us going out walking, either along to Cala Millor / Cala Bona or to S’Illott. Were pleased to see that the small German bakery just round the corner towards Cala Millor was still there and thriving and went every afternoon to share a piece of cake and have a coffee.

It was really strange to be in the hotel when it was full of people as in the winter during the weekdays we pretty much had the place to ourselves as there were very few guests and the majority of the time we were the only English. We are torn as to whether we prefer summer or winter as whilst it was lovely to be able to sun bathe etc in the winter months the main restaurant was only open at weekends and we got to eat in a choice of two of the speciality restaurants open each evening which was lovely. We used our free meal to eat at Toscana on our anniversary which is our favourite of them all. The main restaurant always had plenty of choice although things do get a little hectic around the ‘show cooking’ station as people wait to be served, not sure how the chefs ever remember who is waiting for what. The al fresco evening was a different experience, could not believe the size of some of the steaks they were cooking, will remember another time that they serve cocktails to guests arriving for the meal as we had stopped off at the piano bar for our usual pre dinner fino sherry!

Entertainment was in the main very good, we would usually have a short walk out after the meal and then judge when we returned how long we were going to stay and listen, if we thought we were not going to stay long would order a glass of wine but on the evening that the Jazz saxophone group who were very good were on we had a gin and tonic each which were huge!

We did not use the spa pool as much as in the winter but made full use of the gym every afternoon. Whilst there were more staff around in the summer we did spot familiar faces amongst them and every member of staff was always very polite, I feel they all take the lead from the general manager who is the most hands on person I have ever come across and always fully engages with his guests. After having a bad week at work the week prior to going away this hotel was just what I needed to fully relax and chill and am already looking forward to going back some day when the travel schedule allows.

My partner and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at this hotel, and we both agreed this is probably the best we've stayed at for the price, we could hardly find a fault with this hotel, staff brilliant, always ready to assist in any way they could, and with a smile, hotel room, brilliant, plenty of room, loads of storage, clean, fresh towels every day if needed, tea/coffee, bathroom extras (shower gel, shampoo, moisturisers, toilet paper) replenished on a daily basis, bath robes, huge beds, they are a little on the hard side !! (this was our only markdown) Air conditioning, balcony with table and chairs.
Meals are "buffet style" ( so big eaters can really dig in !! ) and I have to say, the selection of foods for breakfast and evening meals are amazing, breakfast, fresh fruits, all kinds of cereals, fresh breads, croissants, all sorts of pastries, fresh juices, coffee/tea. Evening meals, freshly cooked meat and fish steaks, cooked to your desire, lamb, beef, pork, tuna, swordfish, grouper, sole, you name it we had it, there's something for everybody, vegetarian and meat eaters, salads out of this world, the sweets/puddings really are something else !! I have never seen such a selection of handcrafted desserts.
There are two main outdoor pools, one child friendly, no under 16's allowed, so peace and quiet if you need it, plenty of sunbeds with mattresses, umbrella's, screened cubicles, pool side bar. Evening entertainment on most nights.
The hotel is located between two beaches, one about a ten minute stroll, the other about a 15/20 minute stroll, there is a "castle" (Martello tower) nearby, about a mile from the hotel, which is a very nice walk along the coastline.
There are shops, other bars, within a short walking distance, which have daily papers, groceries, and the usual touristy trinkets.
Okay to wrap it up, would I stay here again ? Definitely !!
Would I recommend to family and friends to holiday here ? Definitely !!

We travelled as a family. My husband and I and our 2 daughters 2 & 5 and my parents. We originally booked a different hotel in Majorca but became very worried After reading reviews on trip advisor. We changed our holiday to protur biomar after reading the fabulous reviews so went with very high expectations and 95% of them were met!!!!
On arrival we were expecting a drink as lots said but this wasn't available but we were greeted in a very pleasant way and quickly shown to our beautiful junior suites. They were exactly what we expected. Very spacious. Perfect with children and we had a very large bathroom. Constantly replenished with toiletries from the very nice maids! The cleanliness of the hotel cannot be better. It is spotless.... We arrived on a Thursday...... And that evening was the show cooking what a start to the holiday!!!!! We have been lucky enough to visit some of the best hotels in the world and the food at this hotel was very impressive and was always something for our children to eat!!!
Tip... Have a massage by the pool it is wonderful and it's a proper massage v good!!!! Also check your info in the room to pick from the pillow menu... If you want a treatment at the spa you have to book 2 days in advance... Book your free fine dining restaurant ASAP as they book up very quickly and we couldn't book in on the day we wanted we ate at the Spanish and it was very good!.... If you want other entertainment the playa hotel at the rear of biomar has more going on! Especially if you have children!

The seating area around the pool was very comfortable and the four posters are perfect to get children out of the mid day sun! And there is an indoor pool in the basement of block 2.

There was a couple of negatives.... The pools were very cold and in September sun you don't need to cool of like you do in middle of the summer and was often too cold for the children if the sun was in! Also the gym doesn't open till 12 which ment a quick workout before breakfast was off the cards!

I must say sa coma isn't as bad as everyone says... It is what it is... A tourist resort. calla is a 10 min walk but the kids enjoyed buying the bits and bobs out of the shops and it has a lovely beach and great ice cream shops!

Overall a beautiful hotel and ideal for couples or families. We would definitely go again .

Room Tip: We were in block 2 and faced the family pool it had a nice view but no sun!

We booked this hotel as part of our silver wedding celebrations. Having never stopped at a 5 star hotel before we were not sure if we would notice the difference from a 4 star but we certainly could. The rooms were large clean and in good order, with lots of attention to detail.

We were at the front of the hotel which caught the afternoon sun and was fine for us.

I found the staff very good through out the hotel. On our first evening we just missed the evening meal and headed to the Piano Bar, in the hope of a drink and a bar snack. When we explained the situation to Jan (i think) as he came to take our drinks order, he immediatly went off to the kitchen and brought us a selection of bread, meats and cheeses at no cost. Great service and an example of the standards set at the hotel.

Unlike some hotels where German seems to be the default languague all the staff could converse in English or German, and we were greeted appropriately on entry to breakfast or for our evening meal.

The variety of food was good my only slight gripe was that the area around hot food grill for the main course could get very congested. I think if the meat and fish grill area was separated or even signed more clearly it would help the situation.

The entertainment on a night was limited to the Piano Bar, but the acts I saw were good and fitted in well with the mood of the hotel which was relaxed and very couples orientated
