A lovely family run hotel with great accommodation, food, ambience and facilities. We stayed a week and came away very relaxed and rested... Just what was needed! We were made to feel very spoilt and although the hotel it deserves 5 stars we were also treated as part of the 'family' - both Mr and Mrs Read (owners of the hotel) made time to talk to us and make us feel 'at home' and very welcome. So much more than your average hotel!

This is a wonderful facility, truly first class. The service, staff were efficient and very friendly. The food was outstanding. We spent time with the owner Mr Red and he could not have been more cordial and very funny.
The grounds are beautiful as are the flowers. If anything may need a little more attention to manicuring-trimming.
My wife is very cleanliness conscious and was well pleased.
We highly recommend the Read and have already rebooked for next May.

Room Tip: Bring a couple of good books. Great place to relax and be sure to spend a day or two in La Plama, great quaint city.

I have stayed at Read's the past two years for a cycling vacation. It is located perfectly for that activity but more importantly, all aspects of the experience have been fantastic. From the very friendly and accommodating staff, to the wonderful rooms and spa and finally the outstanding restaurant, I would wholeheartedly recommend this facility. With their new chef from Budapest and a healthy dose of Mr. Read himself patrolling the place to ensure satisfaction, Read's simply cannot be beat. I will be back next year!! Try it!

Room Tip: Have enjoyed room 2 in the main hotel and room 26 in the annex!

You could just tell that the family who owned the Hotel cared when you walked through the door. from the attentive receptionist who wanted to check our room as they were still serving breakfast when we checked in top the happy staff from cleaners to manager. Big Comfortable room and Bathroom. Great restaurant food and light lunches or menu Del Dia by the pool at lunchtime complimented with superbly chosen local wines. The Spa was perfection with three treatments by three different girls who were polite and friendly and very very good at what they did. Ok maybe some of the decor is last decade but so what. People are what make hotels and Simone and Her dad have got what it takes. Great dedication and we hope to return.

Great property and there are loads of great things about it and a few things that could be improved. When you stay here, you feel like you are staying in a holiday home rather than a hotel. If you appreciate staying in period properties and do not mind the cons that come with that, then this is def the place for your holiday. Beautiful grounds, gorgeous spa and fabulous staff!
