“7 Night Stay - December '13”
Reviewed 21 December 2013

Location - Roughly 45 minute transfer from airport in a coach. The hotel is next to another Riu hotel, these are the only two in the area, they both sit directly on the beach which is part of the sand dunes (national park). The area is very peaceful and the beach is beautiful. There is a supermarket in the hotel which is only open between certain hours or there is a supermarket about 5 minutes walk away. Corralejo is less than 10 minutes away in a bus/taxi. Bus will cost around 1.40 euros or taxi is roughly 7 euros one way. The rep told us that you can walk to corralejo and it would take around 1 hour and a half. There is a lot of shopping to do here plus lots of bars/restaurants and people selling excursions. You can also get the ferry to Lanzarote from the port in Corralejo.
Rooms - We stayed in a standard twin which was lovely. The beds are firm but I actually found that I had a better sleep due to this. It had everything we needed and everything worked perfectly. Shower/bath, wardrobes, tv, balcony and furniture on balcony. Most people recommend a pool facing room however I disagree as we were in room 414 which faced the gardens rather than the pool. So we sun bathed by the pool/beach in the first half of the day then once the sun moved round the back we went up to our balcony and enjoyed the sun there until it set, and we still had a sea view from the side of the balcony which was nice.
Areas around the hotel - There is the main entertainment bar which we only went in for our welcome meeting, it seemed nice enough. The piano bar which was always pretty full and again pleasant and the pool bar which was handy. There is a lot of outdoor seating and indoor seating around the hotel, wherever you are the waiters will make sure you have everything you need. The outdoor areas and gardens are all very well kept.
Pools - There is a heated jacuzzi in the spa area which is amazing, there's also a jacuzzi facing the beach which isn't quite as warm in the winter, there is also a very shallow pool for little ones. The two main pools are surrounded by sun loungers, one is slightly heated and one is not, i'm sure in the summer all the pools would be a lot warmer. All very clean.
Restaurant (Buffet) - Breakfast was excellent, there was a large selection of breads/pastry's and cakes, cereal, fruit, yoghurt's, cold meat, cheese, and hot food like bacon/sausage/beans and pancakes/omelettes. Dinner was also very good with a massive variety of food. There was a salad bar, cheese and crackers bar, cold meats, cold sea food, desert bar, pizza/pasta bar, chips/rice/potato bar, with lots of different grilled meats and fish. Plus lots more.
Restaurant (A La Carte) - This was amazing, there wasn't a huge menu but everything that we tried was fabulous, it was a nice change to be served rather than walking around a buffet.
Staff - All of the staff I met were extremely friendly and so helpful. The staff here are the best I have ever come across. They are so genuine and nothing is too much trouble.
Spa - We used the spa twice and it was well worth the money, again the staff are very friendly and make you feel very comfortable, the treatment rooms are laid out beautifully and have a very relaxing feel to them.

I would definitely stay here again without hesitation. The majority of guests were elderly german couples, however they were friendly and always made an effort to say hello to us, I found them very polite and do not understand why anyone would complain about them.

I work as a travel agent and would not have any problems recommending this hotel to my customers if it suited there needs. If you want to be right in the centre of town then it's probably not for you however me and my friend are in our early twenties and we didn't mind the bus ride into town at all.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor to get a better view

Just come back from this hotel, the food was excellent, the bedrooms was kept spotless
and the staff was always helpful and friendly. I only had 1 complaint that is there was 2 sittings for dinner 6pm and 8pm I did not know this when I booked for me 6pm was to early and 8pm was to late I like to eat about 7pm but being on holiday 8pm was ok. book a sea view it is a fantastic view
the hotel sits in a desert it is more like Egypt than Fuerteventura, it is a bit isolated but there is a very good bus service. all in all a very good holiday

Room Tip: book a high sea view

Typical Riu hotel great staff , food and good quality accommodation . Location is unique as a combination of beach and desert . The isolated location will not suit everyone but if you need a relaxing comfortable break then this is the place .

The weather in mid December was mixed but warm enough to swim and enjoy beach walks on most days .

Fuerteventura means strong winds and yes it is true occasionally .

Key question " would my wife and I return ? " . Definitely .

Room Tip: Sun gets to rooms overlooking pools

Just back from the Riu Palace Tres Islas and already planning my next holiday to this great hotel. From the minute you arrive you are made very welcome by all the staff - nothing is too much bother. If its a total chill out holiday you are looking for this is the place to go. Enrique who plays most nights in the Piano Bar is a great entertainer and gives everyone a warm welcome. Saw some amazing acts during our stay - my favourite was il Quattro fantastic can sing anything from classical to pop. Poolside bar is good for a beer after a walk along the beach.

Room Tip: Would recommend a pool facing room, if you like sitting on the balcony ask for a room that gets sun...

I read some of the reviews and laugh. I'm in my 40's work long hours so having the peace and quiet is heaven.
People who complain about the food must be very hard to please.
The staff are amazing, every single one if them works extremely hard.
I travel in September with my husband and then have a week on my own in December and I can't fault the place.

Just got back from a very relaxing week at the Riu Palace Tres Islas.
The location of the hotel right on the beach was excellent.
The reception staff were very helpful and always had a smile. When we arrived we were able to upgrade to a Junior Suite and the cost was quite reasonable.
The best side of the hotel for good afternoon sun was the side nearest the tennis courts facing the beach.
There were 2 sittings for dinner and you made your choice when checking in. We chose the later sitting.
The food was just what we expected from a half board buffet with plenty of it though the seating arrangements for dinner, we were allocated a table on the first night and that's where we had to sit all week, reminded me of my school days!
The bars were all very nice though the main piano bar serving staff were a little lax during the day and the feeling of dying of thirst comes to mind.
The poolside bar and the salon bar were excellent and the staff couldn't do enough for you.
The variety of entertainment was fine and if you didn't want to be in the thick of things there were plenty of quiet areas to relax.
As with all holidays the rule about not reserving sun beds was ignored and if you wanted a good one you had to get up at the crack of dawn though they were plentiful. One of the 2 pools was heated as we were there from 13/11/13 so very nice. Pool towels were available fresh every day between 8am and 1pm.
We went onto the beach most days either to swim or walk.
There is a Spa on site and a gym but only walked around them didn't use them, very lazy holiday.
The main town of Correlejo was fine but as we were there to relax didn't spend much time there.
The hotel is geared mainly for adults and works very well that way even though there were a few children.
The WiFi was only available in the reception area and really was slow. Would have preferred WiFi to be available in the rooms.
All in all a very good hotel and we would look at returning in the future.
Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday very relaxing.

Returned from Fuerteventura a few weeks ago after yet another fab holiday on the island. Hotel was lovely as usual, not perfect but that suits us just fine. Reserving sunbeds from 06:00 is a bit much but can be turned into a sport for fun.
Pools are lovely .... never got in them though as the sea is on the doorstep.
Rooms are basic but clean and tidy, everything you need ... apart from the British need for a kettle!

Car hire! That's a whole other story. easy*** !! Very, very poor service and their in-country providers cars are definitely not made of gold. Dreadful.

The hotel and Thomson Holidays were absolutely spot on. Flights on time and more than comfortable.

Off road motorcycling was a great day out with Nigel based in Pozo Negro. Thoroughly recommended to you off road guys as a holiday treat.

Room Tip: Any room is good. The higher, sea facing are probably the favourites. I could be wrong but, Brits se...
