Just returned from the Riu Palace Tres Islas after going there for the fourth year running. I did read recent reviews and thought people were just morning for the sake of it, but actually many of them are right! I emailed the hotel two months beforehand to ask for a high floor and as usual for the second floor! On asking for a high floor I was told that they were fully booked, but I found out that they were lying to me. This is a real shame. They seem to save the high floors for Germans.
On the whole the hotel is superb but it certainly needs a bit of upgrading now. On the surface everything seems fine, but there is a lot of furniture, decorating etc. that needs re-doing. There are also broken tiles in the pool on which a young boy cut his foot and had to be taken to hospital to have stitches.
It was disappointing to see that they obviously take no notice of reviews as they do nothing about them.
We had superb weather and met some wonderful people which made up for the rest. Maybe this will be our last trip there - who knows???More
