Hotel Riu Palace Tres Islas
Ranked #11 of 45 Hotels in Corralejo
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 14 August 2014

Just returned from 11 nights at the tres islas. The hotel is beautiful, the beach is amazing and it was a great stay.
A lot of reviews say the hotel is predominantly Germans- when we went it was roughly 60% german 40% English families! but I can imagine that outside of school holidays the hotel is mostly german.

Check in was really speedy, given drinks and our cases were dropped at our room which was on the 5th floor. Personally I wouldn't pay extra for a sea view. We didn't and had an amazing view of the sand dunes and we actually kind of got a sea view without paying! We didn't spend much time in the room anyway so I would say it's not worth it.

The food was amazing. Breakfast was the usual cooked buffet, meats cheeses bread cereals, fresh smoothies etc, with chefs cooking omelettes and pancakes how you wanted. Dinner had a great choice with something for everyone from pizzas and pasta to rabbit, goat, octopus if you're more adventurous . The snack bar at lunch was reasonably priced but the menu slightly limited.

The rooms were pretty good. 3 of us shared a room and that meant some furniture shuffling to fit in a campbed, but apart from that I found the rooms were clean and spacious.

The pools were great, people did reserve sun beds but it wasn't too bad. You could get sun beds up till around 10:30 am. The pools weren't too busy and the hotel is literally right on the beach. The beach is beautiful, I wouldn't bother paying for beds on the beach as you can just walk back into the hotel. The sea is great for surfing/body boarding, but it's very strong and sometimes impossible to swim in unless you're a good swimmer. I wouldn't buy your own body boards as you can borrow them from the mini club.

The thing letting the hotel down is the entertainment. Nearly every single night without fail a middle aged couple called Paloma Sang on stage, it got extremely tedious. You will go home with an extensive knowledge of german karaoke. In any other hotel this wouldn't be the main show, it would be the background music at a smaller bar or at dinner. You'd have thought a decent hotel like this could afford better entertainment. They got other acts in roughly every 3 days, such as bee gees tribute bands, Beijing acrobats (who basically just juggled a few hats) and some African dance group. There isn't really anything to do in the evenings apart from watch the show, corralejo is a bit of a dump and you aren't within walking distance of anywhere.

Finally, I didn't have a problem with the wifi. Yes it had poor range, but I could often get it from the pool and found it fairly fast. The entertainment is what's holding me back from 5 *.

Just returned from 10 nights at this lovely hotel with husband and 11 year old daughter.
Its by far the best hotel weve stayed in abroad in a long time and we have visited Fuerteventura many times. On arrival we were met by the porter who took care of our luggage whilst we promptly checked in. Check in was very effiecient and we were also greeted with a glass of cava and orange juice for our Daughter. Our room (322) was in a fantastic location. Beatiful views of both the beach and the pool. Maid service every day and rooms cleaned to a very high standard.
The restaurant service and food was 5* too. So much quality food and choice. We never struggled to find anything we liked. Drinks served to the table. Two choice of sittings and you keep your same table for your evening meal - very well organised and efficient.Breakfast was great everything you could think of and more! Our daughter (aged 11) also said this was by far the best restaurant food she has had abroad.
The pool area was also very clean and drinks served to your sunbed.
If you want a relaxing family holiday whilst being very well looked after, this is definately a good choice! - We certainly hope to return!

Room Tip: We had 322 which face the beach and pool.Lovely!

An absolutely superb hotel!
Champagne on arrival, beautifully clean rooms, AMAZING staff & right on the beach!

Definitely worth having half board here as the food is WONDERFUL! So much variation from one night to the next. From salad, soup, fish, meat, vegetarian options, pizza, pasta, garlic bread, dishes in sources, ice cream, yoghurts, fruit, to beautifully presented desserts. I can guarantee you there will be at least 5 separate meal ideas you will like each night. Great for the kids & adults.

The rooms are beautifully cleaned each day by the maids & are of a very high standard.

The location of the hotel in relation to the town could be better, but it only costs around six euros in a taxi. In comparison, you literally step out of the pool area on to the gorgeous white sand & turquoise sea!

The gym could be updated, but is still good enough.

The staff are incredible & cannot do enough for you.

Strongly reccomend travelling & doing this all with Thomson, as they made our stay perfect.

Thank you Riu. Another superb hotel!!

I cannot fault this beautiful hotel. We had an absolutely amazing stay. The hotel was grand and stylish with such friendly staff and fantastic choice of food. The place was spotless every minute of the day and the pools and beach were gorgeous. I am also a Coeliac and need a Gluten Free diet and the restaurant could not have made me any more comfortable with eating there. They were totally on the ball and the good was delicious!
Recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing break. Cannot wait to return x

We have stayed here the last week of july. The location is gorgeous! The beach on the left side is superb. Hotel stuff is very friendly and helpful.

Beds are awful. Pillows are stinky. Carpets in the room - awful. Food is awful. Many times I had dirty bord in the restaurant in my hands or glas with still lipstick on... Unacceptable...

Sunbeds are being reserved by guests...so we almost didnt stay at the swimming pool area's.

Kids club leader is strange...

Probably I would come back here because of the convinient location of the beach... but of course comfortable sleep and good normal food are the nessesary parts of good relaxing vacation for me. This is what I had missed at Tres Islas.

2nd time to stay at the Tres Islas Hotel in Fuerteventura. Right on the beautiful beach, swimming pool is generally quiet and spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Major downside for us was the hotel resident entertainment which was very poor quality.
Not a cheap hotel to visit and such a shame that they do not invest a little more in the quality of entertainment - although all the elderly people at the hotel seemed to like it.
Would definitely go back again.
Beds are a bit hard for some but the hotel provide mattress toppers if requested.

Room Tip: Ask for either pool view or side beach view (which is incredible).

Nice lobby and rooms. All rooms have a nice Ocean view with balcony. Two big swimming pools.
Very clean and large beach...very easy access from hotel gardens. Weather is always around 23 celcius and 20-22 at night. Bit windy, but very cool and enjoyable on beach. Wi-Fi only in Lobby.
