Just come back from Fuerteventura, stayed at the RIU Palace Tres Islas. Hotel is great, reception lovely, staff friendly & very helpful. Rooms nice, spotlessly cleaned every day, Restuarant run very effiecently by Ulises & his team, food very good & variety for all types, Evening entertainment not great but cant have everything, Gym / Spa good, Grounds & pool areas very good, plenty of space if you like lazing by the pool or looking out to sea, now for the best bit, LOCATION, it was fantastic, lovely clean sandy beaches either side of the hotel, plenty of room if you wanted beds or just to lay your towel, water was beautiful, clean & crystal clear. Great if you like waves as well, not so good for children or older people as undercurrent was fairly strong on occasions.

Only thing we missed was a good evening stroll along a promonade although ok'ish on beach was harder work as we had older parents with us.

Corralejo Town not so great, have been to better in Spain & the Islands but cant have everything can you, Boat trip to Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote for the day was good, about an 1hr & 20mins & only 35euros from Thomson Guide, no cheaper in the town.

Overall a very good holiday made good by the Hotel, its staff & the Location.

PS: Forgot to say was, What i did like about it also was no Brits with football shirts, also dress code in restuarant was good.

This is a fantastic hotel. We stayed in June 2010 and went with Thomson. As I wanted to recommend this hotel to others I have help produce this website with lots of information and pictures:

We just returned from this Hotel and had a great stay.
The hotel reviews are very fair which is one of the main reasons we chose this hotel, and to be honest it wasnt a thought through holiday, more a snap decision!
We were not disappointed at all, The food is excellent, a good choice for all tastes.
We had suckling pig, steak, crevettes, squid, paella, salads, fresh fruit was abundant as was the bread and pastry assortment.
Dont worry if you are half board, the resatuarant is open serving excellent pastas, grilled sandwiches, salads, steaks if you do get the munchies during the day.(extra charge)
The rooms are clean and you have everything you need except a kettle.( I would take my own next time as I am a fussy coffee drinker!)
The facilities are excellent, heated pool and non heated pool , a great gymn with views over flag beach, lots of changing areas outside so you dont need to tramp through reception soaking wet.Everywhere is spotless the staff are so freindly and cheerful.
he bed were too hard for me so I didnt sleep much at night, and we had the room next to the lift shaft and stairwell, noisy at times- thats really the only gripe I have.
The beaches are unbeleivably beautiful as is the sea- crystal clear waters.
We had some cloud during our stay and it can get windy!
Corralejo is okay, but the main square on market day is fantastic with a live Spanish band and the locals singing traditional Spanish folk music, a market full of artisan crafts. We ent on a Sunday and had coffee and omelettes at therestaurant within the square. Its just fantastic!
Go - you will love it.

My husband and I have recently returned from 11 nights at this wonderful place. We were on holiday with my brother and his wife. I (like most people) read several reviews before booking and found most were positive but some were very negative and I am left wondering if these negative people stayed at the same place as us.

We usually stay Thomson Gold (child free) or Platinum and I have to say that after this place it would very tough for us to ever stay anywhere that is anything less. From the moment we arrived (at 12.45am) into the sumptuous foyer, we were greeted by kind and cheerful Receptionists and waiters who served us with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and were shown to the restaurant where a plated meal was waiting for everyone arriving late. This standard of cheerfulness and pleasant helpfulness all the timewe were there, went right across the board from Managers to cleaners, but a special mention has to go to the waiters and waitresses who worked so hard but always with a smile.

Our room was very nice with a balcony overlooking the pool & sea, we took other reviewers' advice and emptied out the mini bar onto the top of the chest of drawers and filled the fridge with the water, soft drinks and some beers & wine for my husband and I that we bought from the nearby supermarket. The bathroom was great as was the shower. I did take my own travel kettle but understand that you can actually hire them from the hotel. They will also loan you the cups etc for your room. The beds are very firm but I wasn't bothered as our own bed is on the firm side. The pillows are a bit thin but I asked for extra and got them straight away. The room was spotlessly cleaned with the bed made with a different effect each day.

The food was excellent in my opinion and you would have to be extremely fussy if you could not find something to your liking every day. I could not fault the food or the service in the restaurant. Yes there are several Germans staying at the hotel and yes they do have a tendancy to 'push in' but there were also several Spanish and Brits who's manners could be improved as well. Nevertheless, on the whole we found the other guests to be very friendly and as we were there during the world cup game between England and Germany there was some friendly banter before the match but no gloating after we lost. In fact, the Germans were saying the same as us with regards to the disallowed goal.

I simply could not fault the hotel or the staff. OK the entertainment wasn't always great but there were some good acts such as an ABBA tribute band, Chinese acrobats, traditional spanish dancers.

There were some children at the hotel and there is not much for them to do but they were not intrusive at all and they appreared to enjoy the childrens pool or the sea/sand and large waves on the beach.

We did not have a problem to find a sunbed once, there were always plenty to go round and the pool was excellent. The white sandy beach (accessed directly from the hotel) was very pleasant and seemed to go on forever, however the wind was just a bit too much at times when we were on the beach and we left feeling somewhat sand-blasted.

The bus is very easy and is every 30 mins from the bottom of the road. My husband and brother also found a brilliant 9 hole golf course about 15 mins taxi ride away that they were very impressed with.

Our return coach wasn't due to pick us up until late in the day but the hotel supplied a luggage room and a room for us to have a shower and supplied us with fresh towels.

I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday with a touch of class.

Just returned from a weeks R & R in this hotel & were not disappointed. From the moment we checked (in which was very efficient) to the day we left all the staff without exception were nothing but friendly, helpful & professional in all areas of the hotel. The cleanliness throughout was excellent & the rooms of a very high standard with more than enough wardrobe & drawer space. Our room was on the side of the building with a sea view, overlooking the beach & the islands of Los Lobos & Lanzarote The safe carried a charge of 15 euro per week, which is obviously worth it for the peace of mind. There was a mini bar/ fridge in the room which was replenished daily should it be required which you paid for at the end of your stay. I believe you were allowed to remove the contents of the mini bar & use the fridge yourselves, however we didn't do this.
The pool area was also immaculately kept with ample sunbeds & mattresses available. There were no problems getting a sunbed at any time of the day. Food in the restaurant - well what can I say. Spoilt for choice at breakfast, with anything from a full English breakfast through to Continental style breakfast, fruit, yougurts, breads, pastries, cheeses. The only problem was what to choose. Evening meal was in 2 sittings 1st sitting at 1830 & 2nd sitting at 2030. Again you were spoilt for choice with all food cooked to a very high standard, with a huge choice through from numerous starter options to fish, meat, poultry, pasta, vegetables and a vegetarian option. Desserts did not disappoint either with again many choices.
There were no organised activities in the daytime, which doesn't worry us & the evening entertainment was low key. There were however three good shows during our weeks stay.
There were very few children in the hotel & those that were there were well behaved & not at all noisy. The British are in the minority in this hotel with most guests being either German or Spanish, again I don't have an issue with this as the Germans demand higher standards generally than the British anyway..
The setting of the hotel is idyllic, set on a beach that wouldn't look out of place in the Caribbean. There is only 1 other hotel a few hundred yards away with both surrounded by acres of sand dunes. The town of Carrellejo is a 5min taxi ride away or we were reliably told it was a pleasant 90 min stroll through the sand dunes on a dedicated path adjacent to the sea.
Drinks at the hotel are not cheap, but from recent experience this is the case throughout Europe these days & it is a 5* Riu hotel!! The prices for the soft drinks in the Mini Bar were, on reflection not bad at all compared to the measures & prices in the Bar & Pool Bar.
We normally book a late check out on our room if we have an evening flight, but we were unable to do this as the hotel was fully booked, however there were 5 courtesy rooms set aside for you to be able to shower & change before leaving. These were normal single rooms with full bedrooms & bathrooms and a supply of fresh towels from reception.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would have loved to stay for 2 weeks but had to come back to earn some money to go back again. Not if but WHEN!!
Thoroughly recommended!

If you are after a relaxing and quiet holiday - this is the place. Away from any town the hotel is located right on a perfect sandy beach. We were there in the last week of June and there were very few people on the beach, particularly at the northern side.

We were quite impressed with the quality and variety of food in the restaurant buffet. Breakfast was very extensive and if you are on a half-board this should keep you going until dinner.

Drinks in the hotel are expensive. There is a small shop by the main road where you can get reasonably priced bottled water, wine and beer.

A word of warning about a car hire in Fuerteventura. We had a reservation with Orlando Canaries - a subcontractor to Holiday Autos. Having spent a lengthy period of time in their office waiting in a huge queue we and three other parties from the UK have found ourselves without cars because the supplier simply run out of them. After a massive argument with a duty manager the company arranged transfers to hotels at their expense. The company also promised to call us first thing in the morning and deliver the rental car to our hotel. This did not happen. So if you want to ensure you have a car on arrival reserve it with a reputable company i.e. Hertz, Avis, etc.

have stayed previously at this hotel so was disapointed with a few things on our return. Check in was speedy and friendly and helped by your glass of bubbly!! Room- we had an issue with cockroaches first time reception sent someone to spray the room. Second time guy at reception tried to let on he did not understand what we were saying! soon got the message when my husband raised his voice not a complaint you want broadcast in reception. Beds are also very uncomfortable. FOOD- very poor not the same choice or quality as was available on our previous visit. They also need to look at the menu available at lunch time hasnt changed in 2 years!!! This hotel owes a lot to its location and friendly staff. unlikely we will return or recommmend to others.
