My husband and myself have just returned from this hotel with our 2 daughters and their other halves and our 23 month old grandson. We found everything about this hotel was really good. The views we had from the 4th floor of the main hotel were brilliant. Everywhere was exceptionally clean and the grounds are very well kept. The pool areas were thoroughly cleaned every morning but the sunbeds around the pool area went very early in the morning although you would probably get a sunbed elsewhere later in the day. The choice of food in the main hotel buffet restaurant was so good we didn't bother booking the speciality ones. Having 2 daughters who are vegetarian and one very fussy eater we were pleasantly surprised with the choice of food available and the salad bar and choice of fresh fruit was amazing. We have stayed at a number of Riu hotels and this exceeded all of them regarding food quality.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a relaxing beach hotel. It is only ten minutes on the bus to Corralejo and costs 1.20 euros or 7 euros by taxi, both of which can be caught right outside the hotel. There is not really anywhere to walk outside of the hotel apart from the beach which suited us just fine but if you are looking for shops and bars you would need to go into Corralejo.

Room Tip: We were on 4th floor of hotel overlooking the pool which had sunny balconies and great views of the...

Just come back after a week at the Oliva. It may be getting a bit old but the welcome from Sandra on reception was as good as our first visit. We got upgraded to the hotel, although I wouldn't have minded being in the annexe as the rooms tend to be bigger. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the food is quite good. Yes it can be a little repetitive but there's enough choice so you don't have to eat the same thing every meal time! It was our anniversary while we were there and went to the Mandarin restaurant, the table had been decorated and we drank champagne and the food was superb! We did have one incident of our neighbours going out and leaving the TV blasting away but a phone call to reception and it was swiftly dealt with. The position of the hotel on the beach is stunning, the sand is golden and fine and the sea is so clean! It was more windy this time then our last visit, so make sure you take a fleece it can get a little chilly. If you want to hire a car go to Wendy autos in Corallejo, she gave us the best deal. Now just go and enjoy!

Room Tip: If you want to stay in the hotel, top floor facing the pool away from the stairs and lifts! If you...

Excellent Hotel, couldn't fault it. Everything about it was perfect. Staff throughout were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much for them. Rooms were spacious and clean and we had great views which looked out over the pool, the beautiful beach and the sand dunes. Food was very good, especially enjoyed the Mandarin restaurant which you pre book the previous day. Nice location with Corralejo town a beachwalk away if you enjoy a walk or a 10 minute bus ride. Entertainment within the hotel in the evening was various shows and one night the children in the hotel became the 'stars'. We went as a couple but thought it was a nice touch to get the kids involved in a performance too. There was a separate bar that had different singers on at night if you prefer that to watching the shows, so they really try to accomodate everybody . All in all a very enjoyable holiday and loved our stay and hope to return some day.

Room Tip: pay the extra to get a sea view, it's worth it!

Perfect for a beach holiday, the hotel is situated far enough from the main resort of Corralejo to feel remote but an easy €1.20 bus ride or 50-minute walk along the sandy beach or along the desert road if you crave a bit of night life. Situated in the dunes national park, the hotel is also perfect for long desert walks.

The hotel is large and busy with a mix of mainly British, German and Spanish tourists. Rooms are clean, comfortable and functional with twin beds (there are no doubles in the hotel we were told) and balconies with a washing-line; ours had a fine view of the desert road and Lanzarote but didn't get much direct sunlight. We paid a little extra to stay in the main hotel but what they call the annex seemed perfect for families with 2-3 storey villas split into apartments and arranged around communal gardens and a gently sloping leisure pool whilst the pool in front of the main hotel building was probably better suited to competent swimmers and regularly hosted aqua-aerobic and water-polo sessions. The main pool also had a real problem with people reserving sun loungers (seemingly in the middle of the night), some with professional clips and ropes securing towels in place and hotel staff unwilling to get involved and remove them despite the fact that many remained unoccupied most of the day whilst fairer-minded guests missed out.

The hotel is completely all-inclusive and we found the food to be of a very high standard with a lot of variety every day and a lot of different options for people with special dietary requirements. Things like salad, pizza and chips are available every day (and between main meals at the poolside bars) but there are probably 20 or so other choices too. The wine wasn't amazing but we got used to the red and the draft beer was drinkable (let the first bit run off or you'll get a glass full of foam). Bar staff at the main poolside bar were very good and we have happy memories of our evening gin and tonics watching the sun set... Drinking water is available from reception which is also the place to go to reserve a table in one of the hotel's 2 themed restaurants. We found the Canarian one very good with a nice atmosphere but personally I wouldn't bother with the Chinese one if you live in any place with any sort of Chinese restaurant as it'll almost certainly be better than the one here; they do try but the ambience is terrible - too bright and clinical - and the food doesn't taste particularly Chinese.

The hotel has a games room which was popular with teenagers as well as a children's club, teenage club, sports sessions, card room, reasonably priced hairdresser (€16 for a wash, cut and blow-dry) and massage treatments. The evening entertainment was a bit hit-and-miss but we all have different tastes...

The sea was warm and calm enough to swim in and the expansive clean public beaches (clothing optional outside town centres) were scattered with little stone igloos which act as cosy wind-breaks - draping a bit of clothing over the side or leaving your shoes on top lets others know they're occupied.

Room Tip: In the main hotel the north-facing rooms are quieter with a view of Lanzarote but do miss a lot of d...

My wife and i have just returned after spending 7 days at this wonderful location (31st.march to 7th april) the hotel is right beside the beach which is truly magnificent. We found the food to be of a good standard but also repetitive, the rooms were spotless and we had a lovely room on the third floor overlooking the pool. The staff were very helpful with any problem or complaint that may arise, with regard to the free alcohol that is included with the all inclusive package we found most of it not pleasant to drink at all,all rooms have a free fridge so you can buy your own wine, beer, etc.and enjoy a proper drink. The entertainment was not of a very high standard and we found lots of people bored after 9.30pm.Overall we had a lovely holiday and would certainly have no hesitation coming back in the future.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room overlooking the pool as you certainly will not be disappointed (sun all...

We have visited this hotel many times over the years even before became all inclusive after the last refurbishment.
It provides excellent value in a superb position on the dunes outside Corralejo. The staff are exceedingly helpful and friendly compared to other hotels we have visited.
THe hotel and rooms are comfortable and we always book a room with a sea view as the other side of the hotel, although having excellent views, can be cold as it does not see much sunshine. The food provided is of a very good standard and we have never gone wanting.
We would like to think that all clients are treated in a similar way to us, although as regular visitors we are always treated well. We think it is definitely a two way affair.
