ClubHotel Riu Oliva Beach Resort
Ranked #17 of 45 Hotels in Corralejo

Having been to this hotel in 2011 I knew what to expect and was not let down. Our previous trip we were in the apartments in the club village, this time as it was a 30th year wedding anniversary we opted to pay the extra for a sea view room in the Hotel. I emailed the hotel to ask for a high room facing the swimming pool and was not let down, I feel the other side of the hotel would have been very windy on the balcony as wind was a factor when we visited.
The room was maybe a little dated but neat and tidy. Cleaners do a great job and if there is a problem it is rectified immediately as we found out when our toilet flusher broke, we also were given a complimentary bottle of Cava for our trouble our second of the trip as they remembered our anniversary!
Food choice was brilliant with plenty different dishes, we were all inclusive so drinks were provided although waiters were always refilling water glasses at tables.
The setting is stunning with the dunes and the beach, great for walking or running off the meals.
Poolside was great, although there was people doing the old towel routine there was always spare beds.
Didn't really get involved with the shows although they looked like they were doing a sterling job if this was your scene. We tended to use the terrace bar which was quieter, there was a duo singing there a couple of nights who were good.
Overall a great holiday only negative which stops me giving five stars is the wifi which was free on our last visit but now is 5 euros a day which I feel is a regressive move nowadays, especially when all inclusive, I suppose the safe was free which was a trade off.
Thank you Oliva we will return.

Room Tip: If you are booking the hotel try to get a room on the swimming pool side we were room 620 which was...

I booked this just 5 weeks before travelling at a great price. I would give it 3* not 4, there was plenty of food to choose from, and the themed restaurants were nice, although these were still a buffet style. The nice thing was all restaurants had table cloths so didn't have a 'cafe' feel and the staff were very friendly all round the hotel.
We had a family room in the annex which was nice and spacious, but the noise from the cleaners and other holidaymakers dragging furniture was at the point of unbearable and this would be one reason I wouldn't return.
The hotel does need some TLC, some broken/cracked tiles here and there, but not enough to bother me, the pool was very clean, and we never had problem getting a sunbed, although they were reserved with towels everyday, and some people never returned to them which is really annoying to see.
Overall, it was a well needed break, and I would give it 7/10. I probably wouldn't go back.
Depends what you expect and some of the reviews are far too harsh, but give it a try.

Had an enjoyable weeks stays with my girlfriend, we had a room in annex/village part of the complex.
Room was a bit outdated, but was spotlessly cleaned each day. Had problem with ant but was dealt quickly and we were given a bottle of Champagne for our trouble.
The pool area at the annex was a bit hectic and you need to be up early to secure a good sunbed with a parasol.
Ate mainly at the annex restaurant was a bit mad at times, beware the Germans don't believe waiting their turn and very rude at times. Food was good especially the salad options. Mandarin restaurant is well worth a visit.
Bars at the main hotel are good and drinks plentiful, didn't stay to watch any night time entertainment.
Beach is absolutely stunning and the surrounding view well worth a visit on it's own.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel over Easter 2014. This was our second visit, previously we stayed in the Annex, this time we stayed in the main hotel. The room was comfortable with a nice view of the pool and the beach. The hotel is built on the beautiful beach, there is a gate where you can leave your footwear and step onto the sand. As is often the case on Fuerteventura beaches, clothing is optional. The further you walk from the hotel the less textile you will see. Sun loungers on the beach range from €3 - €1.50 a day, an umbrella is an extra €1. This can be very useful to use as a wind breaker if necessary. The Hotel’s standards are still very high and the all inclusive package is excellent. Very wide range of food at the buffet and it is of a superb standard. The entertainment hall is too large for my liking, but each to their own. The other smaller bar often has live music, that can be most enjoyable. If you fancy some late drinks, there is a small disco downstairs, even the late night drinks are covered under the all inclusive option down there. The entire staff is extremely friendly and polite, always a smile and a greeting and nothing is ever any trouble. There is a small gym with weights machines but no free weights, perfectly adequate if you feel like burning a few calories. The entire hotel complex is kept absolutely spotlessly clean. REMEMBER this hotel is a few miles from a resort which is too my liking but if you feel like going into Corralejo there is a bus stop outside and a taxi rank at the gate of the hotel, it’s only a few minutes’ drive into the town. The other hotel guests were mainly German, British, Spanish and a lot of other nationalities mixed in, they were all very polite and friendly. This is a fantastic hotel, but if you want to go night clubbing maybe not for you. The hotel does provide various entertainments and a great animations team.
Will we go back for a third visit? Sometime over the next year or two, yes we will.

This was our second stay at the Oliver Beach, unfortunately this time we were attacked by the Oliver Beach Stomach Bug; and didn't we know it. We had almost a week confined to our hotel room. The doc's invoice said gastroenteritis.

The second gripe was the game of getting a sunbed, you'll need to be up at the crack of dawn, especially if you want a parasol.

Next time we will visit a different hotel

Room Tip: we were in room 416, it was a good room with a lovely maid

Stayed here for a week, couldnt wait to go home. Both of us got very ill from the hotel food, we ended up in a hospital. Hotel staff and Thomson reps are nice when everything goes well. But try to report a problem to them and they become so ridiculously defensive that it makes you wonder how does this hotel operate with staff (and reps)having such unprofessional attitude. Someone has to look into this. Also , if you see a cockroach in your wardrobe its 'perfectly normal' and don't worry cause they 'dont bite'- quoting staff and Thomson reps. Maybe next time they should add this info to the hotel description on their website before people pay to spend their time in this old and disgusting place.
I must admit that the beach is nice but to get there you need to walk past the back of the main restaurant which literally smells like sewage.

So choice is yours but you've been warned.
