Fabulous location on the most beautiful beach. It really couldn't be in a better location.
We stayed in the annex. The rooms are no frills and could do with renovating which I believe they are going to do next year. But they are OK for a quiet place to sleep. Our TV was abit ropey but they replaced it within 10 minutes of phoning reception. Unfortunately the second went abit ropey too, but didnt really use it.
Food is good and varied. Hotel restaurant gets very busy at certain times, but it was peak time when we went so was to be expected.
The sunbed situation was ridiculous - we watched people in the annex put towels out on sunbeds just after MIDNIGHT! I've never seen it done that early before. Why??must confess to having abit of fun by purchasing a lazer pen thing and shining the red dot on the culprits as they were doing it!
The hotel entertainment is varied, but quite enjoyed some of the shows. Casino night is great fun.
All in all, a good holiday - I would ignore any bad reviews - we've been there 3 times and have had 3 great holidays

Room Tip: Email the hotel a few weeks before travel and request a room on the sunny side

The reviews frightened me but on arrival the reception staff went out of the way to make me and my daughter welcome. After 15 mins they called to see if the room was satisfactory and we were happy. We had an Annex room which was clean and spacious. Yes the rooms are a bit dated and doors need varnish etc but that didnt detract from the rest of the resort which has two large pools and right on the beach. We stayed at the annex pool which was quieter and whilst most sunbeds had gone by 9 am there was always a few still around, My daughter went to the kids club and whilst being the only English girl there she had a wonderful time and went every day making new friends from all countries. The kids club staff were amazing. Food was good, lots of choice and always hot. Got a bit repetitive by the end of the holiday but the themed restaurants were also available.

Must stress what a great place to stay in. We stayed in family complex situated across the road separate from hotel, had a great pool but unfortunately a lot of sun beds were taken by 7am!! We had a separate restaurant and snack bar in the complex. No entertainment but karaoke was available. Good variety of food at all mealtimes. Drink and cakes at 3pm in snack bar. No drink restrictions as all inclusive drinks menu on display everywhere. Two small shops selling sweets etc but hotel shop well overpriced! No cash machine or chemist on site but local taxi to tow cost 6 euros. Took an excellent trip to Oasis park organised through rep or reception. Rep in reception everyday. Downside was the poor entertainment but Germans liked it. Hotel was geared mainly for Germans and Spainish. When we left there were no pleasantries like we had all through holiday. And after spending so much on this holiday I was very let down! Receptionists esp the older woman should be taught more customer service skills as this would have made all the difference each time we visited reception. Overall fantastic hotel in the middle of nowhere.

When I read the reviews on here I frankly dreaded going to this hotel. But as soon as I arrived it was clear that just like every other Riu we have stayed in this was a good hotel with excellent and friendly staff. The only complaint I could make is the beds which were really hard and could be uncomfortable. Ok the rooms are slightly dated, but its not a five star hotel so I don't really know what people expect.

The food was varied and good, the pools were good, the beach is amazing and there is always something new on every night. I also have to say we found the Thomson Reps very helpful and went on some good trips to Los Lobos and Oasis Park. All in all I'd recommend this hotel and say don't worry about the bad reviews as you will be treated well during your time and have a great time.

I stayed here in july 2013 with my fiance for two weeks, we were very lucky as we had a room with a pool and beach view which was breath taking, stunning beach and sun sets!

lovely staff, LUSH food, great choice of drinnks included in the all inclusive ranging from mojitos to daquiaries. some nights the entertainment was really naf when the hotel team performed and they mimed to the songs was really cringe, but on the nights where outside entertianers came in well it was on a whole new leauge SO good!! the club there was a good laugh too with al inclusive still avaibale and good mix of music. there was a laid back bar you could also go to whch had live music everynight whcih was relaly nice. we were probably one of 10 young couples here and the rest were old couples but we mixed well with everyone and they werent shy of the disco dancing!

we visited the town a few times, lovely places to eat there and very friendly locals.
we went on the boat trip the catalaza which went to lanazarote, we got soaked on the way there and a few ppl were sick but it was worth it when we stopped off for food and a swim.

the beach was the nicest beach i have ever seen the water was so clear it was stunning! but beware there is a nudist beach very close and there are no signs to warn you!

Room Tip: if you want a beach view request the main hotel not the bungalows

This hotel is situated right on a beautiful beach which is a public beach so sunbeds and parasols are to be paid for. Food and drinks are not permitted from the hotel on the beach. Beware of naked sun worshippers all over the beach also.
When we arrived we didn't get the sea view that was paid for however the room was changed without quibble. Rooms are a little outdated and smell old, which you get used to after a day or so. Beds are hard and lumpy. My wifes mattress was losing springs and had to be changed. Room was clean and tidy. Air conditioning is turned off at 11pm which is most annoying as its after that its needed to aid a restful sleep. The sea views from the balcony were fabulous.

The food in the restaurants was plentiful with an adequate selection if you like all your meats deep fried although the selections were the same every day. After 3 days we were becoming a little tired of fatty food that we decided to eat out a couple of times to break the monotony. The alcohol isn't the best either, weak and not pleasant especially the wine from the self service pumps. Amstel beer was ok though.

This hotel is very popular with Germans and Spanish. There doesn't seem to be many brits using it.

Hotel entertainment isn't the best I've seen but also no the worst. Night time entertainment consisted of the team dancing and miming along to various musical pieces. There was no comedy or anything else involved and some of the miming left them looking like goldfish gasping for air.

Tomsom reps were great and very helpful.

The local town of collerejo is only a short bus ride away and is worth a visit for shopping and restaurants. There's an English pub called The Galleon which have happy hour 4-6 where you can get a pint for €1.50 they also do a decent meal to.

All in all not a bad holiday but we won't be going back to this hotel.

Here is my second review on this hotel this being our most recent stay 30thjuly-9thaug 2014
well we arrived at the hotel about 2.15pm along with a coach load of others, we was all told
to leave our bags an go have lunch an come back to arrange our rooms,
Being myself my partner an 4yr old in tow we head to reception smooth check in,
i was emailing the hotel 4months in advance asking if we could upgrade our rooms to
a suite in the main hotel, we was told we would have to wait intill our arrival an thay couldnt save us a room we was happy to pay the extra 450euros for upgrade!
so when thay told us no suite was avalible an was fully booked! an was given our key an told
we was in the nasty annex!! so got to our room in the annex an these rooms are nasty you had a room with 2 single beds pushed together then another bed made on on the sofa??!!
an a celing fan that would of taken your head off if you turned it on an you was over 5ft 5" as
it hung so low,
so we called recption an thay said we could go to them in morning first thing an we could have a room in the main hotel, so this we did an was given a room on second floor of main hotel these rooms are far better then the annex! so avoid the annex if you can,

Food,
For the first 4-5 days the food was ok but after this it does tend to get a bit boreing we mostly choose to eat in the annex resturants as this always seemed to be much better laid out, you always had plenty of stuff to eat always had meet cut in front of you that you could just help yourself to either veal, pork, an turkey once an some kind of meat loaf (mint an cheese???)
plenty of veg etc i found the pizza's was ok
only other thing we found the meat that was left over from that night was made into something else the next day an either served cold or warmed in some sauce etc,
breakfast is the normal eggs bacon beans sausages veg?? toast etcc....
drinks was pretty good you can help yourself to as much as you like beer, wine an coke fanta etc we did notice a few cockroaches running around the resturant a few times,
we also tryed the chinese resturant that you had to book in advance, first time we went here last time we stayed we was told had to wear trousers to eat in there, so i went in trousers in the warm weather we had an i was the only bugger that did!! (wasnt most impressed)

This hotel is set on a lovely beach that you could never find fault with but you must remember this hotel does not own the sun loungers on this beach you have to pay 3euros for them,
the main fault with the hotel is one of there policys is your not allowed to reserve sunbeds but there was NEVER anyone to stop this! the towel war started before the sun come up i was up every morning at 5am as always on the balcony over looking the main pool an people was down there then puting there towles on beds an then not resturning till after 10.30am, an thay say the germans are bad for this mostly well im not sure as most of them was the british!
some mornings i even seen the pool guys reserving certain beds for guests thay become friends with,
This hotel could really do with a refurb as its starting to show some wear an tear as we did not notice any chance in the last few years not even a touch of pain

After our second vist here now i can safely say i will not be returning again, if you want a budget allinclusive hotel right on the beach then this could be ideal for you!

Room Tip: always ask for main hotel
