Stayed last week in April 2014 - weather exceptional - always helps a review! The Hotel is a fair distance from the centre and a boring walk through what appears to be abandoned building projects to the beach. However as we hired a car this didn't matter and we could take a ten minute drive south to the most fantastic beaches you could imagine.
So the Hotel - good value for money - very nice staff, good room (except very thin walls) food as good as buffet food can be - hotter than most, beer good, wine okay, wife tells me cocktails/spirits
could have been better, entertainment patchy the rep pleasant.
But on a very different level this Hotel is more effective than Lourdes. Guests would arrive only able to walk with the help of two crutches. The next day, after a careful look around the other guests they could manage on one - then on day two the miracle!! - having satisfied themselves that there was no one who knew them they were cured - no crutches needed - no doubt they couldn't wait to get home to cancel their benefits.

We always like to go to new places but we could make an exception here as it is well worth a second visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view some rooms down the side of the complex were dark and enclosed.

Wonderful relaxing time at this hotel, quality and choice of food very good with themed evenings e.g. Chinese, Mexican, British, Spanish and International, we never failed to find well presented tasty food, entertainment each evening and animation throughout the day if you wish to take part or watch on. All inclusive the best option with good quality drinks served. Bar closed at 11pm to allow for quite nights. Hotel does not allow sunbeds to be reserved with towels during busy periods. Well appointed comfortable large rooms with the majority having pool view. Hotel spotlessly clean throughout. All the staff are helpful and friendly. The hotel is approx 20min. walk to sandy beach, 30min walk to the beach from the sand dunes & 45min to Port. Look forward to returning in the near future.

We spent 2 weeks in Hotel Arena in April and wished we stayed longer as we were very happy with the service (cheerful, attending staff always happy to help and go an extra mile if required), the rooms (spacious and bright, cleaned every day), great food (very tasty and quite a bit of variety, staff never allowed anything to run out), drinks (not watered:)) and set of animation programmes (one of our little ones loved mini disco for kids:)). Good location - hotel is in a close vicinity to beaches (nearest one around 500m), also close to shopping centre (15 mins walk). We can honestly recommend it and we would come back.

We have just had 2 weeks in the Arena-on arrival we were met with a warm reception-- said they would look after our cases while we went for a meal, Everyone from the cleaners to the manager were very friendly and helpful, very clean hotel- the waiters had the restaurant running like a well oiled machine, the only fault we would say is the evening meal -typical holiday food but breakfast and lunch was fine- there was plenty to eat -lovely salad bar- we didn't bother with entertainment so can't say what it was like--plenty of ATM machines on the main street but its a good 20 to 30 minutes walk- twice a week there is a craft market not far - on a Sat there is a Flea market and another market near the water park -chemist on the main road plenty of doctors and dentist if needed, we really did relax and enjoy -this hotel is a little gem

We stayed here for one week but wished it was longer, the staff were very attentive to all our needs as my wife has difficulty with stairs and walking we were given a ground floor apartment which suited our needs perfectly.the food was great the service was excellent and couldn't ask for more.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the bar as it can be a bit noisy at night

Arrived the run up to Easter and our first impressions were fabulous, they didn't change throughout the holiday. Hotel not a big one but had a good feel about it! Room was large and spotless, had a good homely feel! Looked up onto the pool where we headed after dumping cases! Not one single sunbed available and there were plenty out! Down to the pool at about 9.30 the following morning to find aprox 3 or 4 available and all the rest were covered in towels but not a soul about!, hey ho I started to get up at 7 ish to get a bed but that's no holiday, new arrivals started to complain, signs went up to say that it was forbidden to reserve beds and pool team removed towels politely and folded them all up into piles! Good on them I say, we all caused the problem,no problems after! Hotel, rooms, and pool areas spotless, food good, alcoholic drinks, water, soft drinks, coffee and ice cream unlimited and on tap for when u wanted it! Pool bar serving toasties, fantastic fries, burgers, hot dogs throughout the day! Evening and day time entertainment good too but what REALLY stands out about this hotel is the staff! We have never been anywhere where the staff were happy to be working, happy to be helping, so so friendly, Mario, alvarao, many others, even right down to the cleaning staff, they make this hotel and they make you feel welcome and valued In so many ways ! They work incredibly hard they are a credit to the arena and we would love to return!

Great hotel, pleasantly situated between Coast and town, both walkable distance but a cheap taxi ride if tired! Spotlessly clean, friendly and helpful staff, good meals and drinks, except for the fruit juices !
Definitely would revisit.
