Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahía Real G.L

(MY OPINION) .

ROOMS
rooms were lovely and had fantastic sea view ,we were initial booked into a side sea view but paid extra €20 per night to upgrade to sea view room 233 as our first Room was right at the end of the side sea view block .the room had really large bed and lovely pillows that we ordered of the pillow menu . Well stocked mini bar with everything in .white fluffy dressing gown with slippers.toiletries included shampoo ,conditioner ,bath foam ,body lotion, sewing kit, shoe horn and shoe shine ,comb, toothbrush and tooth paste and shower cap.i requested a iron and ironing board and was allowed it for the week no charge .we were close to the lobby so we were able to get free wi fi on iPad .
Loads of storage space .we slept every night with the doors open as we felt very safe on this resort.

POOL
the pool is enclosed in centre of the resort so you couldnt see sea or anything but which was very nice with nice loungers and pads ,with a smaller heated pool and a larger unseated pool which was still ok not freezing.i do agree with a previous traveller that the waitresses don't come round enough do offer refreshments .one thing my partners and I noticed was that no one was ever on hand to help with parasol s and beds ,the towel man didn't come out to help with anything .they life guard was nodding off behind his sun glasses lol ,luckily nobody was drowning .Good selection of mags and books round pool.the pool bar made amazing sangria with strawberries and banana's in.we were partial to a few jugs .

FOOD

the buffet restaurant was really good and did differant theme nights ,the fish night was amazing ,huge prawns etc.Breakfast was fab ,with fresh orange juice which is rare in any hotel these days and smoothies.we went on a half lard basis ,which was enough considering we normally go on a all inclusive basis .one thing we did notice though was water wasn't complmentry not even a bottle on arrival .

(MY PARTNER OPINION)

This was a very ordinary hotel could possibly be judged as 5star , just , however with a bit of effort could be so much more. The biggest problem. . . . . The Management ! !
The majority of the summaries on trip advisor are very accurate and if you read them you will get a good understanding of the hotel and it's surroundings, as we did.
Why I say the biggest problem is the management is because they read all our comments , take the best out of them as you will see with their replies and totally dis regard the negative lol lol , we had a really good laugh about it, you will to if you read them.

This hotel could genuinely be up there with the best of them, good location, nice and quiet away from the main town but close enough to walk to if you wanted. (about 20 mins along nice beach path).
Great food no need to eat anywhere else but in the buffet restaurant as they have a really good well prepared selection. Only downside is the tables with the best views of the sea are not in use. Great Management decision there boys and girls ! Nice little outside area though which is pretty and quite romantic.
The pool area is good, no sea view but you will understand why when you go as the wind drags the sand almost everywhere. I would go as far as to say this has been very well thought out and should not be seen as a negative. It is clearly an either or situation you either want to relax in relative comfort or you want sand up every crevice , or orraaphis imagine able lol.

As I said read other peoples reviews they are accurate. Where this hotel let's itself down is in the things that could so easily be corrected if the management took on board the comments. . . It would not be a bad idea if they started with the simple things like water. Charging for water around the pool area is not good if you are genuinely a 5star hotel. Charging for tea and coffee in a room is not good if you are a genuine 5 star hotel. Hope your getting the picture this hotel likes to charge for everything. The other thing you will find is the towel attendant does like to disappear . . " back in 5 mins " ... His sign says. Half hour later. . Just help yourself.
Other things that could do with tweaking , breakfast time doesn't start until 8 so anybody wanting to start early forget it . We hired a car and couldn't go anywhere until 9 o'clock big no no .

These really are small things which if the management heeded could truly go along way to making this a hotel to remember rather than one of the also ran type. We have travelled all over the world for short break holidays , long haul one week and two week but I would say we have seen better in all categories
so at present would not return.
MANAGEMENT YOU ARE LETTING DOWN YOUR STAFF AND THE HOTEL. TAKE ON BOARD THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEM RATHER THAN GLOATING WITH YOUR HEADS UP YOUR . . . . . .

Dear Guest,

First of all we would like to thank you for taking the time to post your review in Tripadvisor.

It is very gratifying for us to read that you and your partner had pleasant holidays at the Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahía Real and that you particularly liked the room and the marvellous sea view from it. Further, we are happy that you appreciated our pool areas and especially enjoyed our cocktails at the Beach Club Las Palmeras. Our biggest aim is to provide a perfect service, therefore is our service staff always available to serve you drinks at the pool and at the beach, as well as the towels attendant and the life guard.

As the gastronomy is very important to us, we are delighted that you found the quality and variety of our food to be excellent. Regarding the room service, we would like to let you know that the service of food and beverage to your room has an extra cost, as in all hotels around the world.

It’s true that we serve breakfast from 8:00am to 11:00am. As a waterfront vacation hotel, our clients prefer to enjoy the sunrise in their rooms with amazing views to the Atlantic Ocean and to the Islands of Lobos and Lanzarote; and to have breakfast later on. If a client desires to have breakfast earlier than 8:00am, we can arrange a full breakfast in the hotel guest room.

Once again we thank you for your suggestions; of course our management will take them into consideration. We take guests’ feedback very seriously into consideration as it helps us achieve our main goal, to ensure customer satisfaction.

Kindest regards,
The General Manager

Just returned from a week here with my daughters. The hotel is stunningly, appointed, superb attention to detail, very courteous and attentive staff wearing local dress; we could not have asked for more.
I rang in advance to request a quiet room (we had a sea view junior suite) and we had a room very close to the spa. Other reviewers have suggested that the walk to the pool/restaurants from this part of the hotel is a disadvantage but for us, we saw it as a bonus. It was beautifully quiet and we had an interrupted view of the beach/sea out to Lobos & Lanzarote.
The spa facilities are beautiful, well kept and very tranquil; the outdoor pool area again well maintained and very attractive.
Breakfast - masses of choice, including a fresh juice bar; we also enjoyed the poolside restaurant at lunchtime. My only gripe was that we ate in the hotel on the first night, having arrived late and when reviewing our bill at the end of the stay, we were charged 142 Euros for the 3 of us. Although, we could have eaten all we wanted, we were tired and ate one course each. I felt that this had not been well explained and there was no evidence anywhere of prices.
As we were not on half board, we had always intended to eat out in the resort. We found a few great places to eat; a couple included in separate reviews. If you only eat out once, don't miss El Andaluz - superb. Corralejo is a good 30-40 minute walk. I didnt particularly like the resort (very touristy) but it was a lovely walk along the beach in the evenings. Taxi return to the hotel was about 3-4 Euros.
We used the hotel shuttle bus to go the beach - definitely worth a trip. if you walk for 5- 10 mins past the crowds, you are rewarded with glorious white sands and the bluest water (and v few people)
This hotel is a special place, we returned feeling very relaxed, healthy and rested; I would definitely return.

We are very delighted to read that you and your family spent wonderful holidays with us and that particularly our service was to your satisfaction. Further, we are happy that the room you asked for lived up to your expectations and that you enjoyed the amazing sea view from it.

It’s a pleasure that you had a relaxing time in our Spa Bahía Vital, trying out all the wellness and beauty facilities we offer. We are glad to hear that the breakfast buffet and the Beach Club Las Palmeras were to your special liking.

Regarding the price for the dinner, we would like to let you know that we charge Euro 45,00 (tax included) for adult for the dinner at the buffet restaurant “La Alacena” where we offer a wide choice of national and international plates as well as show cooking with fresh pasta, meat and fish dishes. Our prices are in line with the quality we offer and with other 5 star hotels in the Canarian Islands. Further, our clients have the possibility to reserve their room in advance on a half board basis at a special price. Next time just ask our staff, they will be happy to inform you about our rates.

Finally, we thank you for recommending our hotel widely and it would be a pleasure to welcome you once again at the Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahía Real here in Fuerteventura.

A stunning hotel with friendly staff and everything you need for a relaxing stay. The spa facilities were beautiful with a great range of treatments, pool and gym. We had four treatments in a week which were wonderful - highly recommend the bamboo scrub. Prices were about €60 -€90 and there was a discount on morning appointments when we were there. The aloe treatment worked a treat on my friends' sunburn. We used the gym everyday and went to the aqua fit, gap and total body classes which were all really good - hard work but excellent! Everywhere was very clean. The food was delicious. Would highly recommend and would go again - and I never say that! One thing I thought was really impressive was the accessibility for wheelchair users I have never seen such a well designed hotel with a no fuss approach.

Spent a week at this hotel and enjoyed the whole experience. Stayed in a junior suite sea view room on the ground floor. The room was massive and such a huge bed, balcony was also enormous. The room was spotless and cleaned to a high standard every day. Location of room was fab, walked right out to the luxurious pool area. 2 pools and a kids pool, unfortunately couldn't use the main pool as was freezing cold, but may improve in the warmer months. The pool bar/restaurant was lovely and thank you so much to Guyo (barman) for his wonderful service and complementary olives and crisps. The staff were all lovely and polite and the spa area was brilliant, even though you had to wear compulsory showercaps and uncomfortable spa shoes. The breakfast was always delicious and so many things to choose from. The restuarants are open on a rota basis but each morning at breakfast you can find out the next 3 days info. We stayed on bed and breakfast basis and my only negative point would be the 1 time we ate at the buffet restaurant for dinner. We arrived late on our first night so didn't want to travel into town, had the buffet at about 10pm. The food was average at best and at the end of the week were very disappointed to see it was 45 euros per person especially as we only had 1 plate each. We didn't see any prices beforehand but i would recommend always going into the town centre for evening meals as the local restaurants are amazing. Would definitely recommend this hotel though and would stay again.

We have stayed here every year since it opened. This time had a full suite which was excellent and the ocean views are fantastic. If you have any interest in food do not eat here in the evenings. The breakfast buffet is excellent and quite amusing to see what was left over from the previous nights buffet, Brussels sprouts with onion and garlic should kick start the day. The pool bar is excellent arroz negro is the best on the island and great ocean views, though for some crazy reason this restaurant closes at night . La Cupula is an expensive joke supposedly to Michelin star standard with prices to match, though they probably got mixed up with the tyre company here. Yamatori say no more, we have eaten in Jappanese restaurants in London and this is more like Morcambe and Wise version. The new Spanish restaurant Las Culumnus has been renamed from some Italian effort and is just as bad and so over priced, don't bother looking at magnums on the wine list because none exist our Spanish family sent the partridge back as poco hecho obviously means the total opposite to the 3rd plonge who obviously is the cook. Apart from this the hotel accommodation for the price has always been good and the staff always helpful. Though every time you mention the restaurant being poor you are met with a little bit of we don't give a toss,, but still think this is the best accommodation by far with the usual Spanish defects.

After hours and hours of stressful searching for the perfect honeymoon, i found this amazing hotel. So after a lot of research and emailing, i didn't care how much plane tickets where to Fuerteventura, we were going. I booked us on the romantic week for two, as this was like a honeymoon package. On arrival i was blown away, the decor is out of this world. The reception staff were very friendly and dressed in lovely outfits. While we waited to be checked in we were offered a welcome drink of champagne.

We stayed in a Double Deluxe Sea View room 216 which was 2nd floor right near to the Spa and gym as requested. Apparently the other end of the hotel can be quiet noisy due to the pool and kids club. Our room was clean, tidy and very quiet. We had towels as swans on our bed a long with a welcome note and champagne. I was so excited about what i had already experienced, i nearly wet myself when opened the balcony doors and seen the view. Golden sand, rolling waves and Lanzarote just across the way, what could be better.

After managing to calm myself down,i had a great night sleep not amazing but that is because i have quite a soft bed at home and the beds in Spain are alway quiet hard. They do provide a bedding menu, which i took advantage of as if my body couldn't quite be comfy then at least my neck and head would be. There is FREE WIFI which worked well on my phone and kindle, there are two different WIFI connections, one for the room and one for around the hotel. We also had a laptop which we could connect up to the wall, we did take our own cable so not sure if they provide them.

I did make use of the gym but only once. For me the spinning class was a bit of a walk in the park and the free weights were to bulky for me. The spa we visited a few times and is just as nice as it looks. Is noisy from all the water fountains, so couldn't really relax there.

I only experienced the buffet restaurant and the pool bar for food as the other 3 didn't really take our fancy. But what i did taste was nice. What we did was look on here for reviews for restaurants in the area and go there for our evening meals. The breakfast buffet had everything you could imagine, i did walk away a few times needing a lie down as i ate far to much.

We manage to take advantage of the Pool on the last few days as the weather wasn't on our side for a few days, (apparently the weather is that great in May!, this is the bit i forgot to research) There are 2 large pools, one is sea water the other fresh water. Would advise not jumping in the fresh water pool without trying the temperature! It is a lot colder than the salt water.
