“Good Hotel with Good Facilities”
Reviewed 19 March 2014

It is not often that you can stay in a hotel and not have something to complain about - this seems to be the exception. The reception staff were extremely friendly and efficient. We stayed in a Studio apartment (self catering). It was clean and comfortable and well maintained. we ate in La Luna (the attached restaurant) on two occasions in the evening and found the food was very good with ample portions. As residents you were also entitled to a 10% discount on food in La Luna. The pool area was always very clean, and if there is a complaint it is that the sunbeds were a little to close together. A good judge of a hotel is to ask yourself "would you go back for another holiday" - in this case the answer would be a definite "Yes2.

Room Tip: The best rooms would be south facing with a view over the pool

When we arrived we were greeted by reception in a very friendly manner. We arrived late and tea was soon to finish but reception quickly said leave your big bag here and you can check in after your meal. We went to La Luna - the restaurant under the hotel. Lovely food and pretty cheap too.

Rooms were very clean and spacious. Our room overlooked the road with a side sea view. This was quite noisy but ear plugs blocked it for sleeping. If I was to come here again I'd probably pick a room over the pool as it is quieter. Room was cleaned almost everyday with new towels and beds made.

Pool area was very pleasant and quiet - never any problem getting a bed. There was also a friendly female lifeguard everyday. Snack bar with plenty of food and drink too. There was a shop just across the road for bits and another in the town 10 minutes away for English papers and magazines. We were self catering so ate out at many of the restaurants on the sea front.

I would recommend the sand dunes as a day trip and Tara horse riding was also a nice few hours seeing the sunset. The 2 main beaches were 10 minutes away and always had sunbeds free.

The only problem was the hot water for showers not being enough (though it does heat up quickly).

Value of money hotel, nice food and relaxing location

No matter what time of day or night we entered the complex the staff were smiling and welcoming. On our last night, we met some friends and left it late to eat. We went into the restaurant at 11.15pm and we were treated like we were the first in of the evening. Just one example of the fantastic service we received from every member of staff throughout the complex. We will never stay anywhere else from now on! Fab U Luss!! We like to eat out but had an evening meal twice in La Luna and the food and service was second to none! Breakfast was a must every day to get you ready for the rigours of a day on the beach, ferry to Lanzarote, lunch in little bars......discovered Coffee Leche Leche - condensed milk in the bottom, stir it up! Delicious :)

Room Tip: We were upgraded to a studio with a pool view. All rooms are excellent - you only go in them to get...

You get what you pay for and this is basic accommodation but very clean, which is important.
Location is great if you want to be at the quieter end of the resort but within an easy walk to the main drag and the tourist shops. I loved the view on stepping out of the Dunas - rugged coastline and crashing waves but just a stroll away from the port and small, sandy beaches and the many bars and restaurants.
A taxi from the airport will cost you about 50 euros but you can book a shuttle coach from Holiday Taxis online which cost us 15 euros for a return journey for two. Excellent value but be aware that you will be on a full coach and the drop off and pick up can last up to two hours each way!
This did not put us in the best frame of mind when we arrived at the appartments and coloured our view of them somewhat.
The reviews have given accurate descriptions of the place but I, personally, found the decor bleak. Black, brown and grey do nothing to lift your spirits and a few colourful prints and cushions would have made all the difference, especially if you are not on the sunny side.
I must emphasise the need to be on the top floor otherwise you may as well be on the sunbeds with the people outside your balcony and will have little privacy. There are, in fact, far too many sunbeds around the pool with not an inch of space between them.
Our flat was very spacious, with a large, separate bedroom and two bathrooms. It was well equipped and cleaned every day but lacked comfort.
After the rave reviews on here, I was expecting haute cuisine in the restaurant but was disappointed. Dry Spanish omelette and badly cooked steak, but maybe we were unlucky.
The Sports bar adjacent to the restaurant is badly in need of refurbishment. There's no excuse for broken bar stools and grubby upholstery. It could be turned into something special quite easily.
After some initial disappointment, the Dunas started to grow on us and it seems to have a loyal clientele.
If you want to go to Oliva beach where you will find the dunes, golden sand and turquoise sea, get the no 6 bus from the port, which runs every 30 minutes. You can hire sunbeds and get an all over tan, too.
We liked Corralejo - it has something for everyone but I expect it's best avoided during school holidays.

Room Tip: Top floor, pool view, sunny side

This was my second time visiting Correlajo and decided to go the budget option by doing self catering. My expectations were low considering how much we paid but I was pleasantly surprised. Apartment was clean and tidy with housekeeping 6 days a week. Kitchen was fine and we cooked dinner two evenings (supermarket 2 minutes walk). Staff spoke English and were very helpful. The apartments restaurant was great and very cheap. Most Tapas were under 5 euros and were good sized portions.

The apartments are located at the marina so it's close to the ferry and boats to Lobos island. It's a windy island, but particularly so here as the apartments are on the coast. It's a short walk to most of the bars and restaurants.

If I go back to Corralejo I'll struggle for a reason not to stay here again!

lovely comfortable and clean room, well equipped kitchen. Two minute walk to sea front where the surfers can be seen and only a short walk to the harbour for the ferry to Lanzarote or just to watch the fishing boats. Plenty of sea fronted bars and restaurants with some live music. This is a quiet location perfect to recharge the batteries. If you are travelling with Thomas Cooke they only provide a new 'connections' service. This means if you need help or ant to know what time you are being picked up for the return journey you have to find out for yourself via internet or telephone. Worth noting you have to pay for internet. We liked not having the hard sell of trips etc, not the hotels fault they were as surprised as the guests.
