We booked a last minute week in The Dunas Club through Thomas Cook, and before leaving I read lots of the reviews here and wasn't totally sure what to expect. I read all the room tips and emailed the hotel requesting a pool view, they responded saying none were available and we had been allocated a side view. I was a little worried about this after reading some reviews, but needn't have been.

On arrival we were dealt with very efficiently at reception and made our way to our room. We had booked a studio and when we entered the room it was as expected. We had a balcony which overlooked a side street and we could also see the sea. Our room number was 128, there was no air con, but we didn't need this anyway, there was a fan in the wardrobe, but again not needed. There was also a safe in the wardrobe, but you had to pay extra for this and we did not bother, we felt quite secure and locked our valuables in our suitcase.

The room and the hotel were fine, considering we paid just of £100 per night which included flights it was very good value for money. If you want a swish hotel, then you have to pay for it. We were not intending to spend much time in our room, only really used it to sleep and change.

The room was clean and had two large single beds, there was a large mirrored wardrobe which was adequate for our clothes and there were plenty of hangers too. The bathroom was a little dark and maybe in need of a little tlc, but as I said earlier you get what you pay for.

There was a hairdrier in the bathroom attached to the wall and this was fine, it got very hot and I managed perfectly well with it. Our room was serviced every other day.

The pool area was pleasant too, there were plenty of sunbeds and although we did not spend a lot of time at the pool there was no issue with finding somewhere to sit.

We preferred to go out and about to the beach and on other excursions, there were some people who seemed to just lay on the same sun bed every day!

You do have to pay for wi-fi and like other people have said I would suggest you don't do this, it is free in most of the bars and restaurants and once you have logged on once a slow walk past allows you to pick up emails etc. I was able to use my UK tariff with Vodaphone for just £3 per day and this was very worthwhile.

We did a day trip to Lanzarote which we booked through the hotel and it was a really good day out. We also went on a bike tour with EEE bikes, electric assisted cycles with a guide up to the volcano, this was excellent.

We did not eat an evening meal in La Luna but did have breakfast there one morning, and the portions were very generous. The pool bar area is also very good and we preferred to have a coffee and a croissant there instead. The hotel is in walking distance of everywhere, and there are some lovely bars and restaurants. We loved the Mojita Bar looking out to sea and had to order a litre of mojita!

If you are looking for good value accommodation then I would recommend Dunas Club, if you are looking for 5* accommodation then don't go there, remember you get what you pay for.

We did have a delay returning and ended up being put up in a hotel near the airport, some people were complaining, but there was a fault with the plane, and if the plane isn't there then what can you do!

All in all we had a lovely weeks break and I would definately return to both Corralejo and Dunas Club.

i am new to TripAdvisor but stayed here two years ago so maybe my review will be a little dated but when i visited i went with my family that ranged from granny in her 60s to the youngest boy of 9 and we all enjoyed our stay we stayed in the downstairs apartments opposite the pool the only fault is there was never enough beds you have to be out early to get one

Just back from a week long break in Caledonia Dunas or Apartmentos Dunas Club, dont relally know what the issue is with the names! Taxi men know it as Apartmentos Dunas Club, this is whats on the outside, however inside the hotel and stuck onto our patio doors was Caledonia Dunas Club?! Anyway, lovely spot, nice and quiet by the pool, great little bar serving drinks and snacks. La Luna restaurant in the hotel is great for breakfast or snacks etc with a lovely view looking over to Los Lobos. Nice reception staff, paid €15 for week long WIFI, however out aparment at the rear of the complex 133, the wifi didnt stretch this far, could only use by the pool side and in the hotel lobby.Nice little 5min stroll over to the city beaches and also the bars/restaurants. Great choice of bars and places to eat. For us this was a little week break, rooms were very big and spacious, cleaned 4 times out of the 7 days with towels changed. Im a firm believer you get what you pay for and this was exactly what we got here. A nice hub close to everything that was clean and comfortable. Would have no hesitations returning again.

Room Tip: The rooms to the rear arent studios and have 2 bathrooms and seperate bedroom.

We have recently returned from a week at Dunas club, (booked though Thomas Cook). Agree with other comments re first impression from outside upon arrival but once inside and settled your first impressions are forgotten. We had a 1 bed studio with side sea view. The room had plenty of space for us both, our bathroom had a hose hair dryer - not good but I have noticed on other pics that other rooms had 'normal' hair dryers. Staff very friendly and welcoming our only complaint was we could never get a sunbed the whole week we were there and it looked very 'cozy' around the pool, I prefer not to be soo close to the next person!
We spent our days on the beach - 2 sun beds and parasol 9euros, beach had a nice breeze and lovely walks out to the sea. This was on the first beach at the end of the harbour (not wikiki) here is a nice English cafe bar - The Point - good snacks-must sample the home made chips, also can purchase drink takeouts.
Breakfast in La Luna was delicious and good value for money. Other plus is the free wifi - DONT PAY for this in Dunas. Is also free in many bars along harbour and in the town.

We also had breakfast in the cafe lounge which was also very tasty. We also had a couple of breakfasts in our room - supermarket is located 5mins from apts and a pack of bacon for 1 euros you can't go wrong!
Eating places we would recommend - Fazz's Indian, very tasty and filling
El Sombrero (along the harbour after Fazz's) I had fresh fish sea bass and partner home made chilli - food was YUM!!!!!! La Cantina Mexicana is also a recommendation. El Toro Bravo good place for a steak.

We exchanged our English at the airport rate £1 : Euro1.07, withdrew cash out at ATMs and got a much better rate of euro 1.15. Some shops advertise 1.16 so wish we had not exchanged at airport!

The island is very windy!!! For evening defo recommend a cardi, jumper, jeans, trousers! I had to purchase jeans when I arrived!!!!

Overall a great location, great food and would return.

Just returned from the Dunas Club apartments and was a little disappointed. I thought the location was great and I agree that when the bus drops you off first impressions are not good. The pool area is good but they could lose some of the sunbeds, you cannot get on a sunbed from the side of it because they are so close together. The staff are absolutely lovely, especially reception. We went with Thomas Cook and they were just ABSENT. We were just given a piece of paper at the airport with a bus number on it and a telephone number for in-resort help. We had to either telephone or call into the office to find out what time we were being picked up at the end of the holiday - so if you are thinking of going don't bother with Thomas Cook. THE GOOD POINTS: Staff great, spacious apartment with one bedroom, two bathrooms and two balconies, beds very comfortable, great location and La Luna restaurant is very good and very reasonable. THE BAD POINTS: Cleaning and towel changes not too good except on the day before we came home!!! and definitely not six days a week. Apartments desperately in need of a refurbishment - dirty curtains and torn upholstery (see photos). I think most of the people who put really good reviews on here are in RCI rooms which will be of a much higher standard.

First impression on arrival is not great, looks a little run down, but the place is far from run down. Staff are great, Cristina in the poolside bar is a god send. Pool is great, Lovely life guard on duty
If you want warm sunny balcony don't go for a room higher that 142 as that's the windy shady side,
Wi Fi is free in the restaurant so don't waste €15 on access.
Overall a very pleasant stay.
We will be back next march
