Fuentepark Apartamentos
Ranked #10 of 45 Hotels in Corralejo
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 21 November 2010

For the amount that I paid (booked as a 'secret hotel'), I was slightly apprehensive, but was very pleasantly surprised. The aparthotel is located on one of the side roads off the main road in Corralejo, far enough back so you don't get any noise, but only 5ish minutes walk from the main restaurant square.

The apartments are very clean and tidy, and although obviously a few years old, all the furniture is new and comfortable. The older build of the property means that the apartments are mores spacious and not as compact as modern builds.

The hotel staff are excellent and very helpful. Free WiFi in the reception area (just ask the staff for the password), and good quality and very reasonably priced food and drink from the pool bar (1/2 the price and twice the quality of that on offer at the harbour side bars).

I would not call this hotel cheap, as that implies that there is a compromise in quality. I would describe it as a damn good value 3* hotel (a real 3* not a UK tour operators fake 3*).

If you are looking for a reasonably priced quiet, clean, comfortable aparthotel in Corralejo, this is the place to stay.

Just stayed at the Fuentapark for the first time. Found the apartments very clean and well fitted out. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The grounds and pool were well looked after. The situation of the Fuentepark is very convieniant for shops, bars and eating places and the sandy beach is just down the road. WE recommend this aparthotel as we will be returning next May.

Great appartments, clean, quiet, great service, very very cheap pool bar. Was a great self catering choice, had everything we needed and was in a good location. 20min walk to Flag beach, 5-10mins to the harbour, few minutes from closest beach.

Read all the reviews of this place and a few others in Corralejo before we made a decision... Glad we did. Finally it came down to Fuentepark and Las Marismas - price in the end was the decider for this one. For what we paid for the week I didn't really expect much, being a believer in "you get what you pay for.." However, times being what they are it IS a big factor in choosing where to stay if you're looking for just a week in the sun. So I was a little apprehensive about this one because of that, just in case it was, well, a hell hole! It wasn't!
I have to say the place was way better than what I expected... ok it needed a little TLC in the decor department but these were absolutely minor details - like paintwork on the bathroom doors and the upholstery on the sofa but, the only reason I noticed those things was because of other reviews that I've read and anyway, that sort of thing doesn't really bother me... I've stayed in suites in five star hotels that also were very dissapointgly shabby for what they were!
I'll get the minuses out of the way-- we were on the ground floor which I didn't mind so much except for the fact that there was no air con in the bedroom so leaving the window open at night was not an option (just as well, I got eaten by mosquitoes all week, but have put that down to several late nightcaps on our little terrace!!) The pool area was grand, definitely needed more umbrellas though, the week we were there the same few groups of people hogged what was there for the entire week!! Plenty of sunloungers available throughout the day though and while the place was full, the pool area didn't get crowded or even that noisy.. perfect again for a week's getaway from it all! Staff were very nice and helpful, although the lady running the pool bar when we were there was a little ditzy, she sometimes came across as being rude... Ten minutes to put together two cocktails on our first day didn't inspire confidence so we stuck to ordering iced tea and water, to which we could point. But it was cheap and handy - downside was it closed at six. One evening someone came up to the bar close to six and she was quite rude about the person when they walked away, she didn't seem to realise, or care, that other customers might understand what she said about them in spanish behind their backs... grumbling loudly about having a home to go to and do people not realise the time doesn't really come across well to onlookers!
We arrived after midnight because our airport transfer didn't show up (NEVER, EVER use Holiday Taxis!!!!) so reception was closed but there was a nightwatchman there who gave us our key and showed us to our apartment... his English was about as good as my Spanish, but we did manage to communicate enough to get that job out of the way and the next morning we were able to complete all the formalities... just be warned about that aspect if you have a late flight!
All in all though it was a really nice place and a good sized appartment for a couple who are comfortable in each other's company (not sure if it would work for three singletons, it was a little small!) We asked for extra pillows which was no problem and the bed was very comfortable, its just a pity that I didn't get much sleep in the stifling heat but that's why we chose the Canaries in the first place!
Location was excellent, just steps away from "the strip" but funnily enough you couldn't hear anything once you were on the premises. Close to a small beach, the harbour etc... bus stops and taxi rank were also nearby. Our flight home was not till 9pm so we did ask for a late check out, since the place was full they couldn't do it for us but they did provide a courtesy room in which to have a shower before we were picked up, which was very welcome in 30 degree heat!
All in all it was a great spot, surprising and in the end glad we chose Fuentepark having seen where the other spots we had been considering were. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

We have been to these apartments for the past 6 years, I know it seems a bit sad but we love the quiet nature of them, 6 years ago they were really beautiful and 4 star rated which was really deserved. They are now rated 3 star which is fair as they have become a little tatty, they just need a bit of TLC. The friendly service, the cleanliness, and the position are what makes them perfect. I wish they would update them but they are value for money.
The rooms are cleaned and fresh linen supplied five out of the seven days and they are spotless. The pool area is lovely although very hot. We spend our days in El Cotillo on a surfers beach that is deserted but if you like being around lots of people then Corralejo will be for you. The resort is full of restaurants but only a few are really good. The best one is La Taberna which is in a side street, the waiter is so wonderful and the food just so fresh and beautifully cooked.

Fuentepark apartments are situated just off the main road through the resort, in a quiet avenue. The hotel staff are all very helpfull. The rooms are cleaned 5 days a wk an are a great size for two people, with everything you'll need for a holiday. No mossies or cockroaches to report either!! The pool area is quiet an there were always a few beds to choose from. The pool wasn't as cold as sum reviews i.ve read an was always being used by the many nationalities that were staying at the apartments. The pool bar food was really good value for money especially the pizzas an burgers an all cooked freshly. All in all a really nice place to stay in a quiet area yet close to all the restaurants, bars an beaches. Good value an would stay there again. Great for couples seeking a relaxing time.

Stayed here for one week June 2010, the location was ideal for myself and my friend as it is right near all the bars/restaurants/shops/beach, yet set back enough not to hear any noise.

We booked through Living Holidays and I must say the whole trip went without a hitch, the service from them is really good and i would recommend anyone planning to book a trip, i know i will in the future.

The apartments themselves were a little tired but more than adequate for our needs - if you want to watch the TV then the Brits are restriced to SKY news Only - unless you speak Spanish or German.

The pool needs a good paint and the water is freezing but there were ample beds and a reasonable bar/snack shack open 10 - 6pm daily.

The town itself has loads of shops (mostly selling the same old touristy stuff) but there were some off beat shops as well. Plenty of restaurants (bit pricey) and bars, some of which have live entertainment on nightly. We really enjoyed the Rock Cafe, they had some really good acts on, especially Michael who does a Reggie Evening, wow what an entertainer, gets everyone involved.

Would i go back - probably not as i am the type of person who likes going to different places but still enjoyed my week very much.
