“Fantastic value for money!”
Reviewed 19 March 2014

I just spent the last week staying in these apartments and all I can say is they're fantastic for the price. We paid roughly £30 a night for the three of us and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Only a short (5min) walk to the main strip in Corralejo which is full of shops, bars & restaurants. The apartments and surrounding area seem to be very family friendly with lots to keep everyone busy, or if like me you're just looking for somewhere to get your head down, it's great. Only downside I can think of is it that there was some damp on the shower wall, but that's not enough to put me off for £9 a night each.

It your happy with staying in a dump then this is the place for you.
We had damp in every room . The walls are so thin we could hear the people in the next room pass wind.
The pillows are rags that have no neck support whatsoever .
The misleading photos must have been taken on the opening day many years ago.

Room Tip: Save up more money and stay in a better complex.

Very disappointed in our apartment! It smelt very damp and musty when we walked in. We asked to be moved but the only other vacant apartment had no outside space and was on the first floor. It could have been a lovely apartment with a bit of TLC. Big rooms, clean and nice furniture but just seemed very unloved! We only stayed 3 nights so we put up with it but we won't be staying there again.

Room Tip: Our room was no. 18 wouldn't recommend it, but don't know what the others were like.

Just returned from a week self catering in Corralejo, staying in a one bedroom apartment. On arrival Maxorato doesn't look brilliant but once you leave the reception and enter the sun terrace overlooking the pool area it literally takes your breath away. It looks 4star!
The grounds are lush with grass, exotic flowering plants and palm trees. The pool is a great size with ample sun loungers and gets the sun all day, great if you worship the sun!
We got room 3, near reception and the pool area. It was an upstairs apt. with a balcony that got the sun in the morning until about 2pm. It is basic but the floor space is vast. Beds were twin but large and when pushed together made a huge bed. Plenty storage space but more hangers needed. Kitchen area had electric hob and microwave, no kettle but a filter coffee machine. Plenty utensils and an iron/board/hairdryer available on request from reception.
WIFI was free around pool area but didn't reach as far as our room.
It was a quiet residential area, no noise from the vast pubs and restaurants a short walk away. The town centre has something for everyone, catering for young children and those who want a more lively night. Most bars had live music/karaoke every night. The Rock Cafe on the main street and Waikiki bar with a comedy drag act had the best entertainment. Local Dino supermarkets sold cheap food and wine! For those fussier eaters there is a Spa or an English Supermarket nearby selling branded foods.
The beach is a 10 minute walk just off the main street, it stretches afar and on a sunny day you have amazing views from the many tapas bars along the beach of Lanzarote and Lobos island.
If your feeling fitter you can walk along the beach to the famous sand dunes but only on a sunny calm day, if its windy the sand storms whipped up hurt!
To the left of the apts. is a local shopping square. There is local music and a local traditional market on a sunday. It is quaint and the tower in the middle has amazing views from the top of the whole island and its free!
The resort is a must and Maxorato apts get a thumbs up! It is a friendly, fun and safe resort.

Room Tip: Try and get an upstairs apt. you get a balcony. Downstairs get a sunning area but people walk past...

Maxorata beach is fine, its a bit dated however clean and friendly staff its near the beach and the shops restaurants so a good base for carralejo. my only criticism would be the pool area was a bit small i like more space around the pool so we didn't use it but there's plenty of space on the fantastic beaches if your after a cheap budget place to get ya head down and go to the beach then this will do.

On first glance we wasn't to impressed ! Being two young girls we specificly asked when booking for views and not ground floor ! Of course we were a ground floor bungalow at the back over looking the neighbouring apartment ! We decided to stay the night see how we felt after a long unconfortable sleep we asked to be moved only to be rudely dismissed by the receptionist the only member of staff lat the complex that wasn't very cheery , friendly , happy or helpful ! But Claire on the other hand only having met briefly was lovely very positive and friendly also the night porters and especially the staff down at the bar were all very nice and made the stay all the better we stayed in our room and njoyed our stay very much ! Met some nice people and adopted the grey cat aka philiph scof haha ! Great birthday at Maxorata and a complimentary majito was a nice touch ! Only one cockroach on the last day that a nice man upstairs rescued us from ! After a 2nd visit in a month I can see why so many people go back to Corellejo , I will be returning with friends and family for years to come and would reccommend Maxorata for short stays ! A great base to rest , get ready and tan ! Enjoy thanku and see you again soon

The one bedroomed apartment is spacious, comfortable, clean and well equipped. The complex is well laid out and the surroundings are pleasant. It is in a peaceful location, and there is a lovely tranquil feel about the place, but it's just a 5 minute walk to the centre of town or the beach. An easy walk all on flat wide pavements. The town has plenty of restaurants and bars, all offering something different to suit most tastes. The beaches are dotted with cafes and restaurants and lovely views. All staff at the apartments are very pleasant and helpful. We had a wonderful holiday here and would return.

Room Tip: Ground floor apartments have a covered terrace, which is spacious to move in and out of the cover...
