“Really enjoyable holiday”
Reviewed 20 June 2013

We have just returned from the Oasis Village after an 11 night stay and really enjoyed our time there. We are a party of 2 adults and 2 children (5 and 2). The complex was clean enough, the staff were friendly and helpful. We went during school term time so it was pretty quiet which was great, we had a choice of where we wanted to sunbathe and there were plenty of sunloungers to spare. We spent most of our time around the lower pool which was a bit quieter than the main large pool, the pool is salt water, it is pretty deep even at the shallow end but there are large staggered steps which the children can use to get in and out.

The food was good, there was plenty of choice for everyone. There was the main restaurant and also the smaller snack bar at lunchtimes which was good for a change and which you could also get your drinks from.

We didn't book with Thomas Cook but the Thomas Cook reps were fab. They were at it from early morning until late at night, they really did work hard to ensure everyone was entertained and had a good holiday. From having a chat by the pool to running around with the kids, to bingo, to putting on a show, they really did work hard and were all really friendly and nice.

Just to note that there are no hairdryers in the rooms, I read someone mention one on here so didn't take one but you can hire one as my sister did. I would definitely ask for a top floor apartment rather than a ground floor as it did get quite noisy when the people upstairs were walking around but not enough to spoil the holiday.

The kids club was brilliant but just be warned that if you don't book with Thomas Cook you get charged 5 euro's per session. My 5 year old loved it but it was a shame my 2 year old was 2 months too young to attend.

We flew back Wednesday morning so were picked up at 7.30am which is at the same time as the restaurant opens so unable to get breakfast the Hotel made each of us a packed lunch to take with us to the airpor which I thought was a really nice gesture.

We had a few nights out on the Strip just for a change and Flix was a brilliant bar, the kids are welcome and they do neon face paint and glow up tattoos which the kids loved.

This for us was a cheap late deal to join family who had already booked and we really enjoyed our time here. I don't think we would go back but only because I think the world is too big a place to visit the same place twice :-)

Room Tip: There are 3 horseshoe shaped blocks, we were in B which was the furthest away from the pools and the...

Returned last week from a 2 week holiday at this hotel with my partner.
Nice hotel complex, staff were polite, efficient and friendly.
Our rooms were good with a fridge and a kettle and cups provided. We had a sunny balcony with a table and chairs.
Please do not take notice of the comments about poor food at this hotel. We had no complaints at all. It was well cooked and tasty with as much choice as you could reasonably expect. Remember this is a three star hotel-not 5 star with fine dining!
There were Mexican,Indian, Chinese and Canaria themed menu nights whilst we were there which were very good.
The reception lady even provided translation for me when i couldn't understand the instructions on medication i needed to purchase whilst we were there..
The Thomas Cook reps-Nathan and Gino were great and even though we went as a couple, we could see that the entertainment staff for the children worked their socks off.
We had no problems with noise. Our rooms were away from the entertainment hall and during the day we did not find the noise around the pool area excessive at all.
The only sllght disappointment was that at times there was a lack of hot water, especially late in the evening.
The complex could do with a little paintwork freshening in places and it would have been helpful to have handrails on one side of the steps to the upper rooms, but otherwise everything was fine.
All in all we had a very good holiday and would have no problem recommending this hotel both to couples and especially for families with younger children who will be kept well occupied by the entertainment team.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the road have no noise from the entertainment hall.

I went on holiday with my partner we are both in our twenties and I have to say it was a cheap getaway holiday. However, we still wished for a relaxing holiday and this was near impossible by the constant harassment of the entertainment staff. It would be a brilliant place if you have children or wanted to take part in events every 10 minutes of your holiday. The entertainment team were hinted at that we just wished to have a relaxing holiday but continued to bug us for multiple sports, quizzes, bingo etc. However, on a positive note they were very friendly if that's what you are after in a holiday! Night times in the complex were pretty boring, kids club till 9pm then a poor show afterwards so most nights we headed out onto the strip. There's a good bar called flicks in the centre and we ended there nearly every night. BE CAREFUL as a girl we met nearly got jewellery stolen of her by a local and when her partner confronted him it ended badly. Also men very sleazy here wouldn't advise for groups of girls.

Food was pretty awful, I must admit though I am a fussy eater. However, even the food I did fancy like pasta bolognaise, rice and sweet and sour were all cold, soggy and overcooked. We ate out a few nights and had some great meals though! There is a steak house on the strip that was amazing! The drinks were ok, not much choice but were fine for a few.

Hotel room was ok, basic but clean. We were overlooking the pool which was nice but noisey. Pool area was nice very big with 2 pools the bottom pool near the restaurant is where you can escape the entertainment team! Now the pool, its salt water and absolutely freezing! Iv never been in a hotel pool where it has been this cold in my life! I was in twice the whole holiday and once I was pushed in. Broken tiles on the bottom of the pool and stairs too, bit scary when there is young kids going about. Plenty of sun loungers though and in general the place is clean and tidy!

Now the main reason for this poor review was the hotel staff! Very rude and unhelpful at the best of times. We got told that for 30 euros we could keep our room on an extra few hours as we were getting picked up at 5pm on the last day and had to vacate the room at 12 noon. We went to reception the day before as told and when asked if we could pay to keep our room on we got a straight no. No explanation no apology just a no. We felt like we lost a whole day as sitting inside from 12 till our pick up at 5pm as too hot to sit out in our going home clothes. There was a communal shower which we ended up using but could not do hair or anything.

All in all would be a good destination for a family holiday if food improved. We wouldn't return as a couple as not enough going on even in the strip but to be fair we were both in Ibiza last year so no comparison!

We have just returned from the Oasis Village. It was a cheap holiday and I suppose you get what you pay for, but in hindsight, I wish we had paid more and gone somewhere decent.
We had asked for a second floor room, but when we arrived we were on the ground floor in block B. I asked if we could be moved but the receptionist said she couldn't change it and the complex was by no means full.

In general, we thought the staff were fairly unpleasant, but in reality, they were probably just hacked off because of complaints. Apparently not so long ago, they had so many complaints, the main tour operator who use this complex threatened to pull out and had to reimburse everyone who complained 500 euro.

The complex is quite good for kids. The Thomas Cook gang really keep them entertained both during the day and on an evening, and ideal if you don't want to move off the complex, it's a lot like Butlins. There were plenty of sunloungers but they had definitely seen better days, sagging, broken backs etc. The pool is full of cracked tiles, which is surely a health and safety issue. Outdoor tables are rarely given a clean either.

The rooms are dated but clean, however, our sheets or towels were not changed once in the whole week and we had to buy toilet roll twice as the maids must have thought it wasn't a necessity. The apartment doors are a bit of a security worry, as the area is well known for break ins, but luckily we didn't have any problems. We were in a block full of children, great for families, but not good for couples when you have the whole Irish Riverdance troupe above you!! I would suggest to the management that they try to put couples together - this would also be better late at night when the kids are asleep and adults are returning late (I would have said drunk but there isn't much chance of getting drunk with the watered down rubbish they serve here - we know quite a few ex-pats and it's well known in Corralejo that the Oasis Village is the only complex it is impossible to get drunk at!!)

Now - the food, where do I start - it is quite possibly some of the worst food I've ever had on an all inclusive holiday over the last 14 years. The breakfasts were ok on a bacon and fried egg day - not so good on a sausage and scrambled blancmange, sorry, egg day. There is not a lot of choice for lunch or dinner and what is there is either cremated, tasteless or cold, it was pretty poor. The snack bar is open the same time as the main restaurant and I couldn't quite see the point of it. I'm not overly fussy, just used to a higher standard and better quality food and drink but if that is what you are happy to settle for - good on you.

On the plus side, the bread buns and tomato and mozzarella salad were lovely!!

All in all, we did have a good time away from the complex. Corralejo is a lovely town, there are loads of bars and restaurants and plenty to do during the day and night. We would definitely go back to Corralejo just not to the Oasis Village. We must have been the only people who stayed there who went all inclusive and still ended up spending 1,400 euro in a week!!

Room Tip: If you don't like a lot of noise don't stay here. If you must, try to get a room on the se...

This was our first trip to Oasis Village there was 4 adults & 4 children ages 13,10,8&8. we had two rooms next 2 each other on the ground floor which we emailed the hotel to ask for as one of our party as walking difficulty's. the staff were really helpful in this matter. this is an amazing hotel the entertainment team of Pete, Mollie, Natalie, Danny and Malky were amazing they were on the go all day & night. They are all 5* and were excellent at getting people involved in daytime activities and were fantastic in the evening shows, Plenty of sunbeds, fantastic pools & clean. The food was good we always found something to eat the BBQ was really good the first time we had it but on the second we had to complain because it was not cooked properly so went to eat in the Restaurant. The bar men, especially Martin, were great and considering how hard they are expeceted to work they are always happy to help. Personally, I never had to wait that long at the bars. Overall lovely complex,

This was a second trip to the Oasis Village for us, my son branded it as "The best holiday ever!!" last year, it had a lot to live up to. This year was eqaually as enjoyable for him, if you have children this is the place to go, they can easily and safetly play with their friends (my son is 11 now) and there is so much entertainment on that they could never say they had nothing to do - this is without my son ever going to the Kidsclub. From what I heard though the kidsclub were brilliant and always good with the children. There is a scuba diving trial (kids and adults) that happens in the pool which was great fun for my son, Westley (the bloke who does it) is really good with children and a great laugh.

The bar men, especially Martin, were great and considering how hard they are expeceted to work they are always happy to help. Personally, I never had to wait that long at the bars, but I suppose if you were just wanting to get to the bar before it shut there is always going to be a wait here or the UK pubs. Plus alcohol is hardly expensive if you go to the HyperDino across the road. The resturant staff likewise are just so friendly and engaging. The Reception was the same so helpful. The hotel staff make this hotel work really well. The only niggle would be the cleaning seemed to have been cut down since last year, but if they just left you a brush to sweep up yourselves it would be no problem. The hotel in general though is spotless and the gardeners work flat out every day.

There are plenty of sunloungers around the pool and there was never a shortage of them, even on the half term week when it seemed pretty full.

We were in room D114, which was a lovely room although you only got the sun about mid morning and never the evening. They are huge rooms and perfectly suitable to what you want. Although the bed was more comfortable than the spare bed, but at 5'8" it was more than acceptable for me to spend 2 weeks sleeping in during our previous stay.

The food is ... monotonous to be kind. But then any AI place is going to be, there are some beautiful places to eat if you wanted to venture out and they are not that expensive either and a change.

The Entertainment staff were so good; Mollie, Pete, Malkie, Natalie and Danny worked so hard and so long. They made the pool have an atmosphere, altough you were more than able to get lost in a good book with the music etc playing. The day they had training was simply flat. If you like bingo then this is going to be your DREAM holiday, because it is played every day at 3pm and in the evening. on our last day everyone played as the jackpot was over 700 euro's!!

If you want to hire a car then give Alphoso's a go, just after the petrol station on the main street, really good value for money and very reliable. For a lovely coffee or snack try Soho Paloma (free WiFi too) it's near Zara's on the ground floor.

Personally the Thomas Cook reps Gino and Nathan I wouldn't give the time of day to. The reception staff are more than helpful.

Basically this is a great resort which does exactly what a holiday should do.

Room Tip: The ground floor rooms are loud, so if your upstairs take your clonky shoes off!
