“Brilliant hotel excellent staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2013

Having previously stayed at this hotel 3 yrs ago we came back on the 20th July 4 adults and 3 children. It was the first time at any all inclusive resort for my parents they loved it. The food at times wasn't great but never the less there was always something we did eat out a few nights as we had a couple of birthdays. The entertainment staff were great it does get a bit noisy around the kids pools at times and there are broken tiles which our youngest daughter found out when she sliced her knee on the bottom of the kids pools. Keep hold of your glasses as they just give out plastic cups after a while in the evenings. We are coming back again in a couple of years it's great !!!

)verall a good holiday!, hotel, rooms, 2 nice pools all clean, food ok, a little repetitive particularly the deserts but we all found plenty to eat including the children, rooms a little basic but not a problem as we were hardly in it! on the negative side when the hotel was busier food and drink seemed to run out but eventually replaced, the Que for drinks in the evening was also very long at times. Credit must go to all the hotel staff and entertainment team, really hard working and very friendly. The biggest negative though was the evening entertainment, although entertainment team were hard working the standard was low with bingo and short music quiz every night, the best nights were when they got outside entertainment in which i believe was twice a week. Also the hotel has no gym or sauna as advertised in brochures. Plenty to do in Correlejo though with the waterpark next door and waikiki beach a 10 minute walk away and flag beach/sand dunes a 5 minute ride away, lovely harbour area where you can get a boat or ferry across to lanzerote.
Overall both us and the children had a lovely time with children making plenty of friends.

Room Tip: get a fan as rooms have no air con and can become hot overnight.

Dear Sir,

Many thanks for your kind comment.
About the gym&sauna, I would like to inform you that the Oasis Village's guest can use the gym at Oasis Duna (sister hotel, just 5 minutes walking). There is a sauna in Oasis Village by the pool area. You have to book it in advance and pick up the key at reception desk.

Hoping to see you again at Oasis Village

Kind Regards,

We stayed here at the end of March for 1 week and had a great time. We are a family with 11 year old daughter.

Rooms

The rooms had basic furnishings and a TV (you have to pay a deposit at reception for the remote) and were spacious and clean with maid service several times a week. We hated the beds, they were very uncomfortable and creaked every time you moved. Not many coat hangers so if you want to hang your clothes take some with you. The towel rail in our room had come off the wall but we worked around it as there were hooks in the bathroom. There was a set of patio furniture outside and a clothes airer. Rooms weren’t very soundproof, you could pretty much hear the conversation of your neighbours.

Pool

The hotel has 2 main pools and a paddling pool. All pools are saltwater and a bit on the cold side for our liking. The top pool was quieter. The bottom pool is where they do the scuba diving, water polo and other pool activities and it felt slightly warmer but had less of a shallow area than the top one. It was also closer to the entertainment area / PA system so was louder. Every day you will have a visit from Magic with his talk on sun protection. He offers advice and has sun creams and aftersun for sale if you want it.

Restaurant / Food

At breakfast and lunch you can just walk into the restaurant and take a table. At dinner you need to be checked off on the list as you go in. They didn’t really seem to enforce the dress requirements too strongly, except for the requirement for shoes.

Breakfast had a good selection of cereals, bread, meat, cheese, croissants and cooked items such as hash browns, sausages, beans, bacon and tomatoes with eggs and pancakes cooked fresh. Water, Juices, tea and Coffee were available form the self service machines. These often stopped working while we were there but were soon sorted out. There was ketchup and HP sauce if you wanted it.

Lunch and dinner were fairly similar in that there was a good selection to suit most tastes. There was a nice salad bar with lots of dressings and fresh bread. The puddings got a bit boring after a few days unless you like cake, mousse and jelly, but the Nestlé ice cream was excellent. Chips, green beans and carrots were on offer every day. Just a few of the things we ate: (important if, like us you have a fussy eater) sausage and mash, pizza, fish, paella, pizza, rice, fish fingers, potato wedges, boiled potatoes, cheesy mash, frittata, pasta with tomato sauce, pork kebabs, chicken pieces in various sauces. The curry night was excellent! Drinks are self-serve with assorted juices, fizzy drinks, wine and beer from the machines.

We found that the staff were brilliant at clearing tables during dinner, but often at breakfast and lunch we struggled to find a clean table which was a bit disappointing.

In between meals, if you are hungry there’s a selection of sandwiches available at the pool bar along with pastries and fruit in the morning. In the afternoon it was chips, pizza, hotdogs, onion rings, ice cream, pastries and salad from the area next to the pool bar but we found this to be lukewarm at best and it very quickly ran out.

Bar

During the day the pool bar is open. We recommend a tip for the guy who works here if you want the best service. I could give countless examples of different levels of service here! Drinks are served in tiny plastic cups which are a bit of a nuisance, especially when they will only allow 2 drinks per person, not much use when you have a family! (Having said that we saw some customers being given 8 drinks at a time with no issues)

At 6pm the main bar opens. This is much better (although still only 2 drinks per person) and serves some really nice cocktails, the tequila Sunrise was my favourite. The all inclusive bar is only until 11pm after which you have to pay. They also do tea coffee and hot chocolate and a really good kids cocktail. The barman here was very nice and friendly. After 8pm the queue got quite lengthy so be prepared for a wait.

Entertainment

During the day there was plenty going on with the Thomas Cook entertainment team if that’s what you’re looking for: Bingo, Quizzes, Pool, Darts, Football, Voleyball, Giant Jenga, Water Polo, Aqua Aerobics etc. Certificates were given to the winners of each activity. There was also a man who came to give scuba diving introductory sessions who was very nice and friendly.

In there evenings from 8pm there’s a short session for the kids where they can all go on stage and do some party dances and play some games, then it’s the name that tune quiz and the bingo. At about 10pm the main act comes on, but this was a bit late for us, would have liked it to be earlier. One night there was a man with some parrots doing a trick which was a bit lame but you could have your photo taken with the parrots which was obviously where he made his money. Another day there was a man doing some reggae songs who was entertaining. There is a hotel run kids club morning and afternoon which is not very well published, and it’s not where the signs point to (they go to the play area) but is in a room at the back by the paddling pool. Kids have to be signed in by an adult.

Location

This hotel is just a 5-10 minute walk from the Baku water park and the local market which is on a few days a week. Just around the corner is the main street with all the tourist shops, bars and restaurants which stretches down to the harbour and the beach. The walk into town probably took us no longer than 15-20 minutes at a slow pace.

You will get people on the pavement stopping you about every 100 yards asking if you want to eat, are you British e.t.c. which gets a bit annoying after a while but you can easily just ignore them or say no thanks.

Around the back of the hotel complex was a kid’s play area which we only noticed as we were in the bus leaving.

We stayed from 20th July ,Good all round 3 star value holiday village.Great pools with loads of sunbeds (except they are both saltwater) entertainment teams are great and work very hard all day. The drinks were great and adults can get 4 drinks each all day until 23.00, but you must keep your glasses all night or end up with plastic cups, the queues were no worse than most AI hotels and all the staff were brilliant and efficient. The food was ok and some nights it was what i would actually pay for on a night out, my FAVS were, the duck in honey and fig sauce, the lovely roast pork in peppercorn sauce, there is a fresh carvery area with meats everynight and the roast pork and crackling was delicious, also the mojo canarian potatoes with 2 sauces were the best i have ever had in the canaries. We stayed in block A and the room was great, the only problem with this complex is that there is no air con and the rooms get too hot at night, we used to sleep with the doors open slightly until the end of our first week when 6 appartments in our block on the ground floor were all broken into and a lot of valuables were taken at night.
There are safes in the rooms which cost 16 euros a week, i feel that 10 euros would be a fairer price and more people would use them, which would make the hotel MORE money.
Another bonus is until 6pm there is free wifi in the reception area, where my daughter kept in touch with all her friends.
We hired a car which for a mid range good vehicle was 40 euros a day, a word of warning though, WATCH YOUR SPEED, we saw several police handing out speeding tickets all over the island and they drive in unmarked cars.
All in all this what a great holiday, and well worth the money, will definitely return one day,and would imagine earley and late season this would be superb, so if you are going enjoy a great break.

Room Tip: We had room A124 which is an ideal ground corner location, close to everything.

we went here after hearing and reading a lot of mixed reviews ... we thought we would give a chance as we always like to try new places . really glad we did , had a totally awesome time !!
the hotel is clean , pool is clean , area as a whole is very clean and locals are very friendly . the food wasn't great but it was edible and the only real fault we had was the kids menu was pretty repetitive which was a shame as they became bored in our 2nd week .
the kids reps are great chris , steve , zoe , sophie and the gang had a lot of time for the kids as individuals making sure to get to know them all . and always made sure they had plenty of fun my lil girl couldn't wait to go every session !!! also met some amazing characters from around Europe and wished we could've brought some of them home lol
the entertainment crew were amazing pete danny mollie and nat do an awesome job of entertaining the guests making sure they get up on stage , take part in the activities which were all good fun ....they gave 110% every day and with smiley faces certainly the best crew we have met on holiday by far !!!! they performed their shows each time with dedication and we thought they were far better than the shows brought in by the hotel from the outside !!
if u r looking for a proper family holiday with quality entertainment , value for money , and the chance to either chill or party ( the strip is 10 mins away ) , great weather ( we had an average of 38-40 degrees ) and friendly locals then this is for u .
we highly recommend it and we would most def return there !!

we honeymooned here in September 2010 it was amazing, fab hotel clean and tidy, really friendly staff. Food was good cant complain, never waited for drinks to long, some very interesting poolside entertainment, met some amazing people. loved the whole area had lots of fun haggling on the market. did a few trips over to Lanzarote the shop and swim was nice, got some awesome pics. Went on the trip to see volcano's in lanzarote and the "beautiful green lagoon" was a nice day but no time to stop for food since we went where they cook food on volcano would have been nice to have some but we didn't stay anywhere long enough. fab holiday will deffo be back. cant really judge evening entertainment as we pretty much stayed outside

Just returned from a superb 2 week holiday at Oasis Village.Arrived after dinner had finished on 20th July but the restaurant re-opened and provided snacks for the late arrivals.Reception staff helpful and check-in was efficient.
The room was spacious with twin beds in one part and 2 sofa beds for the twins,Jack and Lewis in the other. Also provided was a TV,safe, fridge and kettle.Room was cleaned 5 times a week and towels changed twice per week. The only slightly negative point, mentioned in previous reports,is the lack of air -con but we coped despite overnight temperatures of 23 degrees.
Breakfast was good with the the usual choices plus freshly cooked pancakes.
Lunch was sufficient although limited choice with choices also available at the pool bar.
Dinner was good with freshly cooked meat available, and in the 2 weeks there were 4 theme nights, Mexican,Chinese,Canarian and Chinese and also childrens selection available.
The hotel has 2 saltwater pools which were great for cooling off in the heat of the day sometimes up to 45 degrees.
Daytime entertainment brilliantly provided by the Thomas Cook team of Danny,Pete,Mollie and Nat -special credit to Danny for his effort and humour. Jack and Lewis loved the kids club activities organised by Zoe,Rosie,Sophie,Steve and Chris, sometimes keeping them occupied until 9pm.
Evening entertainment was good in the bar although there could be queues at the bar and maybe a suggestion would be to open the outside pool bar at nights for people wanting to sit outside.
We made one trip to Oasis Park Animal Park which we highly recommend. There is a free bus from outside the hotel which picks up daily at 9am,departing back at 6pm.We went on a 35 min camel safari at the park and there are numerous shows eg sealions, reptiles and birds of prey.
Summing up - a superb and very enjoyable family holiday and looking forward to a return in the future.
