“What a nice place to stay”
Reviewed 29 August 2010

We found the hotel to be a really nice place to stay, with all the staff without exception going out of their way to be as helpful as possible. The rooms, pools and general areas we found to always be clean, although at times the there was often a great number of paper and plastic cups blowing around the pool area, however they were regularly cleaned up and this is windy Fuerteventura after all. Food we found to be good and plentiful with a reasonable, if not great range of options. It was possible to get food from 0730 through to 2100 every day and for those that wanted it, alcohol from 1000 to 2300 each day, yes there were queues at the bar in the evening, however, they were short and the bar staff very quick. Equally of use was the ability to request a picnic from reception, as long as it had to be ordered by 1900 the previous night. Although not the closest hotel to the beaches or the town center, it was within easy walking distance and over the road is a commercial centre with a Hypo Dino supermarket and some other shops. The local taxi rank and bus stops were only a few minutes walk away. Of note we found a taxi to the local beaches at Los Hoteles cost roughly the same as the bus with the added benefit of not having to wait in any queues and some people we met up with said they were able to use the showers in the hotel complex before they returned back to our hotel. There is a water park right beside the complex, which although expensive is a full days activity (top tip for this don’t bother hiring your own ring when you get there as there are always plenty of free one’s to use).

The apartments were very roomy consisting of bathroom, master bedroom and lounge come bedroom. We had the additional benefit of having an upstairs room with a large balcony which allowed us to leave the windows open each night. The maids did an excellent job of tidying our room almost on a daily basis, although the towels had seen better days. There was a small fridge which the most notable was it didn’t keep you awake all night (which has to be a first for any hotel we have stayed in), and was adequate enough to put water and a few other items in. There was a TV which could be paid for (only two English channels), but we didn’t bother with it as yet we found more than enough to do both on the beaches and around the hotel for us not to require it.

The entertainers did very well with very little resources, with poolside activities if you wanted to join in from 10.30 to 17.00. They then returni in the evening to host the mini disco, bingo and then the entertainment, which were either the Thomas Cook entertainers themselves or the odd local act. After which was a disco which ran up to 1am.

The only downside of the holiday were the groups of teenagers, both British and foreign abandoned by their parents, who roamed the poolside and complex after dark wrecking things in the process. The police had to be called in one night as they had let of a fire extinguisher.

All in all would we stay there again, yes very much so.

We arrived at the hotel at about 11 at night due to a 3 hour delayed flight. We went to our room and there was shattered glass all over the floor. However we only noticed this when I stood on some and cut my foot, twice. Since it was late, we decided we'd wait til the morning to sort it out. The next morning we got the maid to clear it away. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, so you sweat like an idiot during the night. We couldn't open our door during the night as we were in 1119, by the pool, so anything or anyone could come wandering in. I recommend you hire the safe, it's not that expensive, and you get your money back at the end of your stay.
For the first breakfast, it was just the usual, eggs, bacon, beans, TINNED mushrooms, etc. Quite average, there was also a continental buffet option. It's not the nicest breakfast in the world, I rarely had an appetite in the morning.
The pool is in quite shocking condition, there are tiles missing, and bits of crap just floating around the pool. It's also quite salty. But it's still okay, not the worst one I've seen, nor the best. I was in it every day and I'm fussy about pools. The sunbeds are fine. The pool bar opens at around 10am every morning and is open til about 8pm. The bar staff are great, really friendly. And they are generous with the vodka, they fill it 3/4s full of vodka and the rest coke. Good stuff.
The snack bar which is on from 1-4 ish, is average, not the best condition. I was quite shocked at how messy the guests were, chips everywhere, lots of spillages on the floor. The food was average. Poor choice though. Especially the evening buffet, little choice, and not very good quality. I know the staff tried their hardest, but at the end of the day, it's a 3 star hotel, so it's what you pay for.
If you don't want to eat in the hotel then you can go to the main street which is just like a 3 minute walk away, it is absolutely great, there's a lot of choice. We chose to go to La Tasca for our first meal out. We got a mixed grill for 10 euros, and it was excellent value, you got loads and it was beautiful. There's plenty of bars too.
The entertainment on the other hand is fantastic. They are all English which is good and they all have a great sense of humor. The day time activities are really fun, I got involved with everything, won two certificates and managed to win a superstar t shirt on my last day (28th). They are all extremely nice. I recommend you join in with everything because it is fun. I did the karaoke for a laugh and really enjoyed it no matter how bad I was! I also did the battle of the sexes, which was absolutely hilarious. I think if the entertainment wasn't there, it would have been quite rubbish. But since they were there, it was brilliant and I had a blast.
The maid service is crap. The towels in the room were frayed and had holes in them. The bath was filthy, and there was a dried urine splash on the toilet seat when we arrived there. The towels and sheets are only changed about once a week, but if you want them to change the linen etc, then leave them on a pile in the floor.
Overall, I had a really great time, I thoroughly enjoyed it. And if you have an evening flight, I recommend you keep your room as it is only about 30 euros. You can also go on a lot of excursions. We chose to go to Lanzarote, via the Carmen connections and Oasis Park and Baku waterpark. They are open tickets for Oasis park and Baku, so you can go whenever, but you have to book with the hotel as it's better. Oasis park wasn't the best. But Baku was tonnes of fun. Ben, the rep will help you with all of that as he was great. Funny guy as well.
My advice is for you to just go, because at the end of the day, it's a holiday and it's a laugh and you make great friends and great memories.
Adios!

After reading many reviews I was a little apprehensive about this hotel, however I was really surprised at how nice it was. The apartments were large and clean as was the rest of the hotel. The food is nice plenty to choose from. The bacon and sausages were not great at breakfast but the eggs and beans were fine there was plenty of cereal, toast and fruit too. Nice salads at lunch and evening meals tasty. The pool is salt water and again that is something I worried about before going but really I personally found it nicer than chlorine because it didn't give your eyes that drying effect and my skin seemed softer so nothing to worry about there.
Unless you have walking difficulties you wont find a problem walking into the main town we did have a laugh at some friends we met there who had paid for a taxi into town, it is 10 min walk. The town its self is lovely it's got some really lovely shops and the harbour area is beautiful with lots of restaurants and bars which have some live music. We had a couple of meals in Wikki beach , its well worth a visit. You can visit the supermarket across the road to the hotel in the evening that has a lovely outside seating area and live music with little fairy lights in the roof . The water park is ok it's not the best but its only round the corner to hotel its close enough to go back to the hotel for lunch if your all in which we were get your tickets off rep and you get your sunbed for free.
We went on the drag night and I wouldn't recommend it the food wasn't great all of a bit of a money making night really. I travelled with my fiance and 14 year old daughter we met some fantastic people and it really made our holiday. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and would go back. One thing though two of the receptionist at the hotel were horrible you know who you are if your reading sort out your attitude! All the other staff especially Gissepi at the pool bar were great!

We have just returned from a week at the Oasis Village and we thought it was fantastic!!

The distance from the airport went unnoticed due to the fantastic views on route to this hotel!

We did a few drop offs on the way and think we may have struck gold after seeing some of the other hotels.

Check in was done nice and quickly and we were in our rooms and unpacked within half an hour of arrival!

The room was a really good size with separate bedroom and bathroom, always clean but very hot, and this is the only negative of our whole stay.
Air con would have made this much, much better, hire fans are available but they just push the hot air around the room!!

The food here was pretty good there was something different every day.
Breakfast was nice plenty of fresh eggs, bacon, sausages etc!!
There is a snack bar buy the pool which did nice lunches and you could also go to the main restaurant.
Dinners were also pretty good with cuts of beef, pork or chicken available.
I was also impressed with the selection of different potatoes they had daily!!

We spent our time here in peak season and never waited more than five minutes for a drink, always served in plastic glasses round the pool during the day (which is i think sensible)
Glasses were used in the restaurant and main bar during the early evening but these were also replaced with plastic once the restaurant closed.

The pools were lovely and the salt in them made your skin feel great after a shower!

Just a short walk from the town and harbour and a short taxi ride (5€ ) from flag beach which in my opinion is a must as it is amazing!!

We met some lovely people got great tans and would recommend this place to everyone!!

Myself and my partner visited the Oasis Village for a week in early July , Bad points first , food became very repetitive after the first couple of days and the choice was limited , but what we ate was good . Rooms no air con, when temp is hitting 40 degrees this is a must .
Good points, pool area very clean nice pools , rooms very big and clean , staff very helpful , hotel bit of a walk to resort center so usually had a taxi back only 3 euros.
We did not stay at hotel all night for the entertainment even thou the Thomas cook team worked their socks off , not our thing so usually had a few drink to get our moneys worth of the all inclusive , then hit the town , plenty for all tastes and price of drinks very reasonable All in all a really good holiday.

We have just got back on Wed 18th from Oasis Village and had a brilliant time. When we first got there we thought the hotel was lovely, apartment was gorgeous but we were in the middle of nowhere. Until we went to the main street which is outside the hotel, turn left then right at the roundabout. There are many English pubs aswell as your traditional ones. The hotel staff were very friendly and always happy to help. Food was nice and lots of variety. Drinks were great (except for the local Baileys, they didn't have any). The Thomas Cook Entertainment Team were absolutely BRILLIANT. Kazza, Kim, Arann and Bryony were fantastic. We had a 14 yr old and a 11 yr old and they always enjoyed whatever was going on. My husband enjoyed himself with the pool side activities that went on (Killer Darts, Football, Water Polo, Water Volleyball etc.). I enjoyed sunbathing and taking part in the odd quiz and Water Aerobics. Overall a great holiday, Thanks to Kazza and Gang. Love Ed, Sam, Shannon and Karl x
