My husband and I stayed here in August 2010 for one week. We found it to be a great hotel, very clean, only 5-7 minute walk to the top of the strip and another few minutes walk to the end where it meets the harbour with excellent restaurants. The hotel staff were very friendly, the only thing that we didn't like was the snack bar closed at 3 to facilitate the restaurant opening at 6. The mini golf is free (for first hour) and there are three pools one being a children's pool. Would definitely recommend visiting corralejo and staying at Las Marismas, we will be returning next summer.

Myself and my wife stayed here from the 26th Aug for two weeks and we have nothing but good things to say about this hotel, even though we was self catering. The hotel is spaciously laid out, like a little village with three good size pools, we had no problems getting sun loungers ( you just help yourself to the sun lounger cushion from the trolley ). As we was self catering we sometimes had lunch in the pool bar area and we could not fault the food or service, although whether you are staying all inc or not you still pay for whats on the menu albeit all inc guests pay a slightly cheaper price. The Hotel was very clean and tidy and our beds were made and towels changed every other day and bedding were changed twice a week ( except sunday ) we saw no bugs of any description and the mosquito screen does come in handy especially with the high temperatures we had during our stay ( in the 40's nearly every day ). The reception staff are friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend the bus to the Dunes beach ( at the RIU hotels ) this cost 2 euros each return and you get the bus outside hotel at 11 am and get picked up at 3.30. there are places to have a snack at the Dunes so dont let that put you off either.

The location is not on the doorstep of the town but believe me it took around 5-7 mins to walk to the top of the strip and another 10 mins to get to the bottom where it then merged with the harbour area, DO NOT let that put you off, you do not notice how long it takes to walk to the strip and to be honest a little bit of exercise wont do any one any harm.

Theres plenty on offer on the strip and ill just mention a few places that we went to..
RETRO at the top of the strip a good place to stop off and have one for the road on your way back from your night out, also Do have a crepe from the stall just before there ( outside Tony Roma's ) they're to die for.
ROCK CAFE great night espacially if your there when the reggae man is on.
CORKYS AMERICAN DREAMS DINER excellent place for food if you just want a pint and a burger/wrap...and do try the baby ribs 7 euros what a bargain.
LA CANTINA opposite Corkys a nice mexican grill restaurant the food is excellent be warned you get a big shot of tequilla after your meal.
7 PINTS next to La Cantina great entertainment especially the blues brothers show ( dont worry it isnt all blues brothers) and there is some audience participation.
TALK OF THE TOWN this is down a side street just up from Rock Cafe on opposite side
a good night had there it is british run nothing fancy but made to feel welcome.( there are two othe bars next to here called the undergrond and the 60's 70's bar we never went in them but they are all owned by same person just different managers ).
EL TORRO this is a spansh grill restaurant towards the bottom of the strip again the food was excellent but it always is when you dine where the locals go.
CANNES opposite the Rock Cafe....this is very much a locals place very small but if you want some fast food to munch on your way back this is the place ( chicken kebab is a must ).
THE LEMON TREE hard to find but if you walk down the left of the strip and then go up the side street opposite vodafone you will see it, a small but very friendly britsh run place we had breakfast here on a few occasions and it is well worth it, small breakfast 2.95 euros and a large 5.95 euros and trust me you will not eat again for most of the day if you go large. The british couple that run it are so friendly and you cannot put a price on that.

Overall our stay at the Las Marismas and Corralejo was excellent and would recommed to anyone. i would, like us , take on board all the positive reviews and ignore the very few negative ones im glad we did as we are seriously thinking of booking there again next year. Corralejo is a great place to have a night out a nice blend of european tourists and hardly any typical brit holidaymakers ( the ones that give us a bad name abroad ). You will have a good time in this hotel and resort.

Oh we also have to say we booked transfers via holidaytaxis.com and cost us £59 return alot better than the taxi prices as its between 30-40mins from the airport.

I booked to stay here last week for just one week and I was unexpectedly joined by a friend from Puerto del Rosario who came to stay with me at the apartment. There was a slight issue with the cost of this additional person (it cost more for him to stay half board than it had cost me to rent the room and half-board in the first place, even though there was a special offer indicated on the information in the room) but I won't quibble - I accept they are a business and need to make money. On the whole, the reception staff were ok, if not a little 'no-nonsense' (but I think that's cultural rather than personal).

Aside from the above issue (which is an unusual situation), the apartments are really great. It is a very nicely designed complex of many apartments with lovely, well-maintained gardens and water features in the centre. There are three good sized swimming pools including a shallow one for small children with a fountain in the centre. The apartments are not on top of each other and there is a feeling of space. I found the apartments very clean and very comfortable containing everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. I found it very quiet and was not disturbed by any unwanted noise. at all.

I stayed half-board and found the restaurant area (more canteen?) clean and nice to use. The restaurant staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. The food was of a good standard and you'll find a grill area at the far end of the canteen with grilled and coked meats etc, then an island in the midle with salads, breads, deserts etc. Being completely honest, I personally found the food bland but edible and some things were nicer than others - avoid the rancid salad dressings or the very oily veg.

That's it. If you're reading this wondering whether to stay at Las Marismas I would say don't hesitate. I'm a fussy traveller and like tings to be nice so trust me, this is a good place to stay.

Very impressed with the accomodation - spacious, relatively well equipped, comfy beds and regularly cleaned. One word of warning - you need the card that your door key is attached to to turn on the lights and ceiling fans! Would disagree that there is any need for air conditioning - the ceiling fans in the bedrooms provide enough of a breeze when sleeping.

Main Pools - clean and safe, maximum depth 1.4 metres so ideal for children, there is a lifeguard watching the pools. Good number of sun beds with umbrellas,

Restaurants - arranged to eat breakfast 5 times during our 11 night stay (was cheaper that way, 21E rather than 28E) - good selection of food both hot and cold.

Would thoroughly recommend this hotel and didn't have any problems while there.

Despite reviews favouring this hotel as more family-friendly, we were 4 girls (all aged 20-21) looking for a quiet getaway from London. Las Marismas was definitely the perfect choice. Although it appears to cater towards families, we had just as much of an enjoyable time. From our 1st floor room, our balcony overlooked the children's play area, however the distance was enough so that we were never disturbed with noise, and the play area was never over-crowded with screaming children despite staying in the hotel in high-season.
We had requested a pool-view, but when I called to confirm my booking (we booked directly through the hotel's website, as we found this was cheaper than booking the hotel/flights together, and the hotel had an offer) they informed us they were fully-booked so it would not be guaranteed. From previous reviews I gathered it is pretty much a hit-or-miss. The complex is huge and so you may be given a room towards the back, or on the ground floor with no view. The only way to avoid this is to book earlier and specify your requirements. We were extremely lucky and grateful for our room to be just around the corner from the reception and overlooking the centre of the complex.
The rooms were well-kept, if a little out-dated, but the reception staff were extremely helpful with all our needs. One of them even came with us to the police station when he was off-duty, to act as a translator for a police report when some of our money got stolen. BUT do not let this deter you. Apparently it is extremely uncommon, and it happened in while we were spending the day in another town nearby. We had hired a car and can only assume we must have left the car unlocked accidentally.
In terms of location, I think Las Marismas is perfect. It is only about a 10minute cab journey from the main strip which is bursting with every kind of restaurant imaginable, and 15minutes in the opposite direction to Flag Beach. As young adults we easily walked to the main strip within 20-25minutes, but the taxi price is pretty cheap anyway. To Flag Beach it cost us 6 euros, so less than 2 euros each.
Flag Beach is gorgeous. It has clear water and white sand. It does cost to use the parasols and lounging chairs (3 euros each, but you share 1 parasol between 2), and someone comes around to collect these fares if they see you've just arrived. 1 day we did go unnoticed though and didn't have to pay! Even though it was about 25-30 Degrees Celsius, the cool breeze from the ocean ensures you do not get too hot or bothered. However, you can burn much more easily this way as you underestimate the heat of the sun with the breeze. You must always wear sunscreen as my friends were turning red on the first day, when we only spent a few hours sitting outside a cafe. By the end of the holiday they had all peeled, so be warned!
A lot of reviews say Corralejo is quite windy, especially at night. During the day, we never had to wear a cardigan/jacket once. In fact, on the day we visited the Oasis Park Zoo, it was unbearably hot. During the evenings we did take cardigans with us but I would hardly call it "cold" compared to English weather.
In terms of things to do, the Baku waterpark is right opposite our hotel. It did not look appealing and didn't have great reviews, so we never bothered going. As mentioned, we did go to Oasis Park Zoo. We booked through our hotel and chose the package which included entry, the coach journey, a lunch buffet, the parrot show, the birds of prey show, the reptile show, a camel-ride to the top of a mountain, and the sea lion show, all for 42euros (if I remember correctly). The birds of prey show was cancelled as it was "too hot" for the eagles to fly, but the sea lion show made up for it! Great for kids and even adults. The buffet was also very impressive, and I definitely think it was worth the money, even though the Zoo itself wasn't spectacular and does not rival London Zoo (in terms of the variety of animals). All the kids there seemed to enjoy it though.
Another day, we also took a Glass-Bottom boat day cruise from Corralejo harbour. It was a great day out with the girls. It stops just off the coast of a nearby island, and you can dive in with scuba-diving gear or simply just float and enjoy the scenery. It then harbours at another island with you can explore by foot for a few hours. It had a wonderful beach. The buffet included in the price on board the boat was not amazing, but not bad either.
In terms of the night-life, despite being a young crowd we were lazy most nights at in bed by 1-2am. We did go to Casper's Bar one night, which is a 5minute walk from the hotel. The owner was there and extremely nice, and we got involved in some bad-karaoke after a few mojitos (which were on offer for 5 euros!) and shots. It was an enjoyable night and everyone there cheered others on!
We were lucky that we never went to a "bad" restaurant any of the nights. I would highly recommend Cantante, which is right off the bottom of the main strip, near the harbour. We had amazing paella (traditional spanish food- they had veggie, seafood and meat options), along with mussels and prawns. Their alcoholic beverages were quite strong, but it was just because we're used to the diluted-cheap stuff served in London bars. Other restaurants we dined at were Rock Cafe, which has great live entertainment (watch out for the Reggae man) and La Cantina (a mexican steak house grill) which had a large and yummy selection. We also went to the Blue Cow in El Cotilla (a nearby town) one night when we had hired the car. They do an amazing fish platter, which had all been freshly caught that day! Perfect for sharing, but watch out for the bones. El Cotilla only takes about 30-40mins to drive to and is a peaceful/quiet town not based around tourism but with beautiful scenery of the ocean. A better way to experience a traditional Spanish town, as Corralejo is much more touristy.
In conclusion: brilliant hotel, amazing weather, beautiful scenery, and an amazing atmosphere. We were lucky enough to be there when Spain won the world cup, and the main strip was packed with supporters, both foreign and local!
I would definitely go back again and stay at Las Marismas!

travelled with my partner in july - aug. hotel lovely as its only been there since 2004 and everything is still very new. grounds very clean vegatation growing strong eg plants. they have 3 clean pools 2 for adults and 1 for children. stayed bed and breakfast which was very nice. fresh fruit, cerial, breads, hams, cheese, hot breakfast on buffett style and eggs made to order. staff helpful. hotel is about 5 - 10 min walk into the main stretch. hotel is opposite the water park. corralejo has many bars and shops to look at many of them are not pushy for you to buy things from which i liked. the resort has a harbor at the end of the strip which is about 15 - 20 min walk depending how fast you walk and how many bars you past!. this resort is friendly and has a lovely atmosphere. fuerteventura means strong winds so you may need to take a small jacket for night time as it can cool off, but it is not cold. we hired a car from wendys for 3 days costing around 114 euros included ins this was the cheapest car hire we could find. travelling to the dunes: you can catch a bus from the hotel but we drove there. the beach is lovely lots of wind surfers, be carefull in the water as the current can be strong. there are a few trips to do but we did not do any as they can be simular in every resort. meals were ranging between 25 - 40 euros a night depending were you went and how much you drink. flicks is a great place for karaoke and a great night and you can take kids. this place is a little jem and is very busy seeing as its not featured by any holiday operator. all in all this is a lovely clean friendly hotel to stay in and the resort is fab. we are looking to go back in dec this year.
