Hotel Hesperia Bristol Playa
Ranked #21 of 45 Hotels in Corralejo
Reviewed 31 January 2013

We have made three visits now in the last year and have just returned from two weeks here. I haven't changed my mind about this hotel even though I have listened to friends who don't like its position.
I like its situation and enjoy the short walk into the town, harbour and music square area which has nice views of the sea and Lanzarote, the whole way and is no more than 10 mins.
The weather wasn't great this time and the central heated pools came into their own.
Once again the buffet was good with free breakfast if you subscribed to the very reasonable 12 euros for the evening.
The staff were very helpful and courteous and only to pleased to answer any questions we had, although the hotel was full we never once felt that it was due to the lay out. The staff showed a very professional approach throughout the stay even with the amount of transfers they dealt with.
The pools and surrounding areas were kept extremely clean and the main work is done early mornings but checked throughout the day constantly.
The on site mini supermarket is well stocked and very reasonably priced so need to stock up from town shops at all.
The pool bar opens from12:30 - 16:30 and is very nice with snacks available if required.
If there was a mark down it was only the fact that due to the time of year the bar in the hotel didn't open and therefore meeting friends had to be more precise than having a drink at the bar. To be honest this hardly affected us and everything is only minutes away.
The rooms were very clean, cleaned 5 times a week with changes to bedding and towels as often and nothing was too much trouble.
All in all for this level of rating I think the hotel is very good value for money, safe and secure and far better run than some of the alternatives that I looked in on, the hotel is close to the bus station which saves taxis or long winded transfers to the airport and we will be visiting and staying here again without question. The heated pool was an added bonus this time around due to the weather and there were enough sun beds for all even with the level of occupancy.

Room Tip: Pool views are good for sun late on, sea views are nice but in a shaded part of the complex late in...

Just back from a fortnight at the Bristol Playa and had a cracking time. If you like a quiet hotel this is the spot. A nice promenade to and from the harbour and restaurants - albeit a bit bracing at times. Took us 45 mins to yomp down to the sandunes (Watch out for the pervs if you're planning to get your kit off). There are 2 massive supermarkets within easy reach and a very good little supermarket on site. The pools are enclosed and sheltered between the very picturesque buildings. Very nice looking complex. Extremely helpful staff. There is a passable restaurant if you don't feel like going out but if you want a real good one relatively close try La Luna which is straight down the road to the Harbour and 2nd on the left along the front.Self catering is a bit on the basic side and we had a bit of a firght to get a kettle as so many were broken. But the rooms are clean and kept very clean. All in all - excellent value for money.

This was the first time we stayed at Hesperia Bristol Playa, but we had a really enjoyable stay. Apartment was suitable for our needs and clean and comfortable. Situation was ideal for walking into town, to shops and restaurants and close to the Spanish Square where we enjoy going every evening, to eat or drink. We also hire a car from the airport on arrival ( as we holiday in Fuerteventura regularly ) and the apartments are easily found and with parking outside or nearby.
Would definitely stay again :)

We have just returned from 10 nights at the Bristol Playa in room 205 and overall had a very good holiday.
We first went to the Bristol Playa approx. 12 years ago when it had just been refurbished and it is now very tired and overdue a further refurbishment. The doors and cupboards don't close properly and the bathroom door didn't close at all. Hesperia are surely a large enough group to take the " bull by the horns ", close it for 3/4 months and completely refurbish all the rooms. For an apartment that could house 3 people there were only 2 cups 2 glasses, no toaster, no frying pan of any sort and a kettle that leaked and could easily have caused an electrical fire.
Having said that the staff were very helpfull and sorted these problems out very quickly.
We could not fault the cleaning staff and in fact all the staff were doing a good job in trying circumstances.
One thing I strongly object to is having to pay 4 euros a day, or 21 euros a week, just to get BBC World News. Practically the only English speaking channel available for free was CNBC an American financial channel.
We would prefer to use the Dunas Club but it depends on price.

We stayed in this hotel as it had everything we wanted. The pool was great, it was close to the town, and it was an apartment which we prefer to hotels. The room was spacious and clean and we paid for a sea view which was well worth it, especially at sunset. We also rented a bike from the hotel and went along the off road route which I recommend although you will probably get sunburnt. The same applies if you go to the sand dunes and walk for a while; beware the nudist beach unless you are like me and aren’t scared to just just get involved! The hotel was easy to find and if you want my advice, don’t pay the silly prices of airport transfers; catch the bus! It’s only about 4 euro and I think its bus number 3 from the airport to the mini station, then 6 to Corralejo although I might be wrong; best to google it. The bus goes up the edge of the town so just get off at the stop just before the corner. That’s the best I can describe sorry, but it’s very easy and will save you money! Overall the hotel is very cheap and very nice and I would recommend to anyone of humble backgrounds. Happy holidays!

We booked this holiday and asked for a quiet place with balcony and close to a few bars and restaurants as we planned to eat out most of the time. On arrival my heart sank as we turned into the complex and saw at the end of the road a building straight out of colditz. I mentioned this to the rep who said no no its lovely here and we have a lovely room for you with sea views!! Yes, our room did have sea views but we had to look over the car park to see it. Our terrace not balcony looked out onto the utility cupboard where the cleaners were in and out all the time. The bedroom had no windows the whole apartment was dark and damp. We complained to our rep who managed to get us moved to an apartment with balcony overlooking the pool. Still this was drab. The beds were exceptionally hard and one night I decided to sleep in the lounge on the sofa. This was made of foam and had hardboard underneath. The fridge was rusty with age we had minimal crockery and cutlery and the microwave was so disgusting and looked like it had come straight from a skip. The bars and restaurants were a mile hike away but the town was beautiful. On several occassions we witnessed surfers washing themselves and their surfing gear and clothes in the swimming pool. Gross!! The only thing they provided us with out of the things we requested was peace and quiet as I think most guests were eager to get out each day and come back as late as possible. Everything in these apartments are old tired and delapitated and could do with a complete refurb. On the plus side the staff were friendly and there is free wifi .......but out of 4 computers only one was working most of the time.
