First time at Barceló in Corralejo Bay. I looked through the reviews of this hotel before booking and we weren't disappointed the staff the food the amenities and the location of this hotel are great.

My partner and I both noticed a lack of heating in the room and upon bringing this to the attention of the staff at reception was astounded to be told that there was no heating in the room or any provision for heating to the room. Despite the presence of an air-conditioning thermostat on the wall. We were however offered more blankets but this was inappropriate when sitting in the room either reading a book or watching the television which we had to do on a number of occasions due to the frequent rain. If caught out in the rain whilst visiting the local town we found ourselves returning to a cold room with wet clothes and no chance of them drying out ! However at 10 am of the morning on the day prior to our returning home a small plug in electric heater was delivered to our room. we felt that this was albeit inadequate, it was however better than nothing but why was this not offered to us 5 days earlier when I asked about heating in the room ? If this hotel wishes to enjoy the star rating it has then it should provide heating to that standard and not to the standard of a back-packers hostel.

Room Tip: Take plenty of warm clothes in January !

We chose this hotel as had stayed at the Barceló Fuerteventura Spa in Costa Calleta twice before and knew the standard of hotel, but the fact that it was adults only made it even more attractive to us. We were not disappointed - the room (we had a superior room) on the 2nd floor was lovely, very comfortable beds and everything you need supplied, our balcony got the sun all afternoon and we spent a couple of afternoons just enjoying the warmth, out of the wind!! We stayed half board as spend most of our time out and about during the day (walking) so suited us. Location is perfect, in a quiet one-way street, yet close to town and beach. We booked it independently as worked out cheaper. We loved the breakfasts, but we were down at 7.30am most mornings and sometimes the hot milk hadn't heated up and some of the food wasn't very hot - perhaps the hot trays hadn't warmed up sufficiently at that time as seemed ok at dinner time. We thought the standard of food was very acceptable and all the things we wanted to see during our weeks stay were provided - ie king prawns, fresh grilled salmon, pate, stilton, cava at breakfast (every other day), steaks. They did some little roast potatoes at breakfast some days, I think these would have been lovely in the evenings too. Staff were very friendly and attentive in all areas, nothing too much trouble. Pool area superb but not really a sun-bathing week weatherwise, although we did sit on a sunbed for a couple of hours 1 day to read.

Only negative was that the draught beer (Tropical) was flat and lifeless. We tried it a couple of times and then gave up and drank at the bars just up the road where the beer was fantastic for a lot less money. Glad at this point we weren't all inclusive as no other choice of draught beer.

My only regret is that we only booked 1 week and we are now planning a return trip in Feb 2015 for 2 weeks to celebrate my husbands 65th birthday and retirement.

Room Tip: We had a room on right hand side of hotel, overlooking a side street and the huge volcanic crater an...

Really lovely hotel. Adult only. Lovely rooms. Beautiful bar. Great buffet with plenty of choice - vegetarian guests well catered for. Just a 10 minute stroll to the beach and a 15 minute stroll to the bars, shops and restaurants. Lovely pool. No complaints and we would return.

We booked a week's all-inclusive holiday at a very reasonable price and frankly were not expecting such a high-quality hotel - comparable to a favourite of ours on another holiday island which costs twice as much. Our room was unusually spacious, quiet, with very comfortable beds and with plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space. The buffet restaurant is of standard Spanish quality, ie. a wide range of options and always good. The lunch and snack restaurant is equally good. The public areas and bar are comfortable and pleasant, and the pool areas clean and attractive - even with a heated outdoor pool in January. One quality above all made this hotel special, namely the excellent and friendly service from all staff. Never once did we have to wait around for wine waiter or bar service. A very good experience all round.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors overlooking the pool area are popular, but if you want no risk at all of nois...

Return visit to this very pleasant and well run hotel. Good rooms and helpful staff. The food is excellent with lots of choice. It is in a good location, quiet but near the beach and a stone's throw from the shops etc. Might return, but probably book independently next time - whatever are Thomas Cook doing using double deckers for long drawn out airport transfers!

The good things, great location, adults only, plenty of room around pool, clean.
The not so good, don't bother to pay extra for sea view it's not worth it, the breakfast is average, in 2014 to only have 1/2 hour free wifi per day is poor.
Not the fault of any one but the break was to grab some winter sun & get away from the rain, unfortunately it followed us!
