Just had 1 week in october, 2 adults daughter 7, son, 4. Nice pool area, water warm enough for infants, friendly service, food and drink of good quality and price, though lacks air-conditioning in the rooms. Hard to find any negatives, but also hard to find unexpected positives, so good, but not excellent. No, we will not return.

Room Tip: Away from the road, sadly none have air conditioning and it is hot at night

Without planning we jumped on at one week trip to Sunwing Arguineguin in Gran Canaria in April 2013. Being a hotel mainly for families with children and ourselves being about 70, we did not have the really big expectations. Surprise surprise: Very nice and very clean hotel 10 minutes walking outside Aerguineguin. The pool facilities is of a kind not often to be seen with 3 pools for different ages, the bigger one warmed up to about 28 degrees , salt water. We like to swim and certainly did so the whokle week. The breakfast and other meals were very good. Noice and children life we considered as entertainment .... we love to see small children coming from cold spring in Scandinavia and discovering that suddenly they found the summer :). The rooms lack aircondition so can probably be warm on hot days, but not a problem for us. The beds are among the best ever experienced in a hotel. We heartedly recommend this hotel !

We just got back from a week in Gran Canaria. We had booked this hotel, believing it really was a 4+ star experience. After arriving we noticed thar the paper thin door to our room faced a large street. The 'some noise' we'd read about actually was cars practically driving in the room. The hotel room was very small and became very humid over night due to lacking AC. Breakfast was ok.

The pool area is great and the only lunch we had there was not bad at all.

We moved after the travel arranger helped us to another property (took 2 days).

I cannot recommend this hotel as a premium experience.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel or at least avoid rooms with bedrooms facing the road.

We are two adults and we travel without children. We chose this hotel for several reasons. First - we have stayed here before and second - it is one of the best of the charter hotels in this area, in my opinion. It looks well taken care of from the outside and inside too. Our room, "Royal Family", was in the 7th floor with that wonderful view to the sea and the sunset. The childrens playground was right below us, but that did not bother us at all as we were so high up. Besides - we are grandparents and we don`t mind to hear children play.

Our room was not big, but big enough for the two of us. Looked rather freshly painted. I love rooms that feel light and airy as this room did. Very good, big bed, not the usual Spanish "stone hard" kind. We really appreciated the generous space to hang clothes and with lots of hangers too. No drawers, but lots of shelves to put your clothes in.The so called kitchen was not much to speak of. It had all the equipment, but nowhere to prepare food so we did not do much cooking there. Microwave up on a shelf, which we did not use.
Very small bathroom, for one person at a time, but with a nice rainshower.
Our room was kept clean and tidy by the cleaners every day, and so was the rest of the hotel. Nothing to complain about there. If you have a "Royal" apartment you can choose the time of the day you want your room cleaned.
They do not have aircondition, I wonder why.

We did not use the garden and pool area much, sat there a few times and my husband took a short swim every afternoon. We found it to be quite nice, not much screaming and running children!

We had dinner in the hotel restaurant "Miguel`s Kitchen" twice and we were thrilled both times. Excellent food and very good service, really a nice place to enjoy your meal and surroundings.

We have been to Gran Canaria many times now and will not go back for a while. If we do, Sunwing will definitely be "on the list".

Room Tip: "Royal E" with a seaview is what we like best for two people.

This hotel is - like other Sunwing hotels - ideal for families with smaller children. There is a lot for children to do at 'Miniland' at the hotel.
The entertainment at night was VERY loud though and my 2-year-old had trouble falling asleep even though we lived at the 4th floor and had the balcony door closed.
The water in the pool was quite cold even thought the brochure said it would be 25 degrees.
Children eat for free at the buffet, if they are together with a paying adult. This is a great concept and they can always find something they like to eat.
And the Easy travel concept is great - you check in your luggage at the hotel and go straight to security when you get to the airport.
All in all a great hotel for a family vacation.

Just got back from a wonderful week in Argueguin. This was our first family holiday. The hotel is very clean and modern. We stayed in a three bedroom flat with a wonderful view over the pool area and the stage which meant we could put the kids to bed and watch the evening show from the balcony. The hotel has had a refurbish recently. The staff at the hotel are excellent. Always nice and polite and they speak Scandinavian so if you don't speak a lot of English or Spanish they still understand. Kids entertainment was brilliant. Lollo and Bernie was a big hit with our kids. We had all inclusive and it was great. Breakfast and lunch was very good. Hot and cold items. Everything looked and tasted nice. But if you're into fine dining this might not be your thing. Dinner was good. Different themes every night. Italian, asian, bbq, canarian, etc. The only night wen we were disappointed was the Asian theme. Not a lot of taste and the deep fried prawns were not cooked properly. They did however remove the undercooked prawns and replaced them with properly cooked ones. You do get a bit bored with the food after a few days but there was nothing wrong with it . They had a low buffé table for the kids so they could help themselves. They had a tv in the restaurant so the kids could watch a movie when the adults finished their meal. Restaurant staff was brilliant. Our empty plates were quickly removed and tables were always nice and tidy. The pool area was also very clean. Staff was always removing rubbish and tidying up. One baby pool and one bigger children's pool and one large pool. They were all heated. A perfect holiday for a family with children. If you don't have children I don't think this place is for you as everything is adapted for kids. The entertainment staff was very very good. The kids and family shows were great. Wifi was good. Sometimes a little slow, but its free. Not a lot to do outside the resort but we went for walks every day. A small shopping centre in town, market day, Anfi beach and we took a boat trip to Puerto de Mogan. The rest of the time we stayed by the pool. All in all we were very happy. It suited us very well and we will definitely be back.

We just came back from Arguineguin and the hotel Sunwing Resort & Spa.
This review will present our experience from our week, both positive and negative ones.

The hotel is nice located close to the ocean althought the closest beach was not the best. (You have a 25 min walk to the nice Anfi-beach)
Also very close to a busy road but that did not bother us as all.
The hotel was a 4+ hotel on the Ving website but in our opition more likely 3+.

The building, the rooms were clean yes, but rather run-down.
8 floors, about 800 rooms with 4 elevators and only two of them working properly.
Long waiting time
On the days of departure, it was almost caos when waiting for the elevator to come.

We had a small room on the 5th floor, "Royal family" with a great view over the pool area, the ocean and the harbour. The room was very well equipped with a small kitchen, double bed (which however had very very hard mattresses), bathroom, a TV area and a pretty large balcony.
It was really nice to sit on the balcony.
No AC in the room. It was not needed when we were there.
There was a saftybox in the room, which we rented for 15 EUR a week.

Also the hotel has free WiFi. When all the guests come up to the rooms, before leaving for dinner, the internet is very slow and very very unstable.

The cleaning ladies did a great job every day.

We had Sunwing Inclusive, 7 breakfasts, 5 lunches and dinners, served in the buffé restaurant.

What surprised us the most was that the food was not, at any time hot, as it normally should be, but slightly warm and sometimes even cold as taken from the fridge.
We went to the restaurant when they opened, so you then assume that the food should be hot. Several guest reacted on this but no change was made during our week.

Otherwise the food was ok, not particularly seasoned but ok. The different dishes of sallads/vegetables and fruits were very fresh and tasty. The left-over-bread from breakfast was served during lunch and even during dinner.
Every evening there is a theme for dinner, e g asian, BBQ.

I am unsure if the restaurant was understaffed of waiters when we were there, because it was difficult to find a clean table. On several of the tables there were used "dishes" from previous guests that we had to clean up ourselves before we could sit down.

The pool area was great. 3 bigger pools and 1 for the kids. Close to the pool area you have the Mini market and Miniland for the kids.
Mini market was actually well-assorted but very expensive of course. A 10 minutes walk from the hotel then you have Spar, a supermarket were you can do some nice shopping.

Miniland was very nice. The kids played in the playground and for the parents there were chairs for us to sit in the sun or shade and take a cup of coffee.

The ladies at the reception were great, always helpful in any way. They speak Spanish, English and Scandinavian.

Entertainment, Lollo & Bernie for kids and shows for the adults, in the evenings, 5 days a week was very nice

This was our first trip to Gran Canaria. We loved the climat and all the environments but however, we will not return to this hotel.

We were in Side, Turkey in July this year. Stayed at Sunwing Resort & Spa Side East Beach, also a 4+ hotel.
When we compare these two Sunwing hotels, the Turkish hotel will win, every time.

As written in the title, we expected more from a Sunwing hotel.

Room Tip: Royal rooms, closest to the harbour have a great view and are nicely equipped.
