Description: El Barroco "and" Cadaques ", two magical planets have been particularly related to the painter. Our hospitality, friendliness and atmosphere with each artist have created and try to keep accompanied by an excellent variety of Lebanese mezes, grilled fragrant spices of the East. In 1979, the great "Maestro" has created the logo "EL BARROCO" Once the "master" sent us a group of Chinese designer from San Francisco to make clothes for the opening night of the DALI Museum in Figueres. Dali reserved the "Patio" when waned to dine in el Barroco, always with his "Buick", wearing his black catalan sneakers with white spots, inviting hippies, gypsies and other people at its table to shock and provoke his distinguished guests, singing and dancing on the tables even while taking pictures from the event. After eating the grapes the Empordan, Dali was the first to leave the restaurant, to return a few days later. Dali's favorite foods - Steamed mussels taken near Cap de Creus Cap - Shoulder of lamb is Catalan. - Grilled lobster with garlic. - Grapes and Wine Muscat de l'Emporda. - The famous mineral water "Vichy Catalan." While simple Gala Menu was: - Poached Eggs. - Sardines in oil. In wintertime, between September and March, it's highly recommend to send us an email to double check if restaurant is open. “Lovely fresh food. Great service”
Reviewed 7 June 2014 via mobile

This restaurant is charming. A beautiful courtyard draped with geraniums. The host was friendly and amusing, without being forced. We were going to order three appetisers and four seafood paella, but he advised us to take two more appetisers and three paella. Good advice. We ordered also a bottle of Vina Sol and asked the host to recommend a meaty red. He recommended the Rioja. Both wines were very nice and a good accompaniment to the food. The appetisers were excellent. Rich, creamy peppers with nuts; smokey babaganoush; stunningly different hummus; sweet, spinach croquettes and wonderfully fresh Fatouche. Then to the paella. This was also very tasty and very generously laden with large prawns and langoustine. A three person portion was more than enough for four. The service was excellent throughout.
We had a really good and fun evening and will certainly return....maybe just to work our way through all of the appetisers.

Thank Tony B

I wanted to go here because it is someplace Dali frequented. What a treat. A wonderful restaurant with fresh seafood and Lebanese food. I loved it. The courtyard and exterior of the restaurant are so beautiful. Gorgeous flowers and decorations. The owner was so kind as well, highly recommend!

“Fantastic and eccentric, incredible Lebanese food.”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

With a title like 'El Barroco,' you'd think it was Spanish, but it's actually owned and run by a Lebanese man who has lived in Cadaques for approx 35 years! Going with the intention of eating something Spanish,my family and I were pleasantly surprised with the most delicious Lebanese meze/tapas, authentic, delicious and well prepared. Vegetarian and Meat eaters well catered for! Also the restaurant owner who is in charge of service is a delightfully eccentric man with good humour and very friendly. Interesting building (an old mill) with hordes of varied and bizarre decor from around the world. Also, greatly priced! A must-go in Cadaques!

“More than just a meal”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

We had the pleasure of dining twice at El Barroco, and on both occasions the meal was excellent in both presentation and quality...Samy,the owner is a perfect host and his anecdotes and playing of the piano between courses made for wonderful nights...an added bonus to the evening is the eclectic mix of collectables in and on display within the restaurant and well worth a browse after eating....Samy,his family and restaurant are well recommended and we look forward to the time when we can make a return visit..

“If you want a change of pace”
Reviewed 24 May 2014

Honestly a bit disappointed ...don't think this rates as #2 restaurant in cadeques. But if you want middle eastern food it's pretty good. The setting is an old olive oil mill...nice inside garden. The interior a bit too cluttered with stuff for my tastes.
