In Cadaques for a day. Am sure we’d have enjoyed the same old same old Spanish and seafood menus at any one of the many shoreline and back street restaurants. However we accidentally found Es Raco - a tall tree that stands out in the lovely forest.
Lunchtime and not crowded - we sat at one of two tables on the tiny terrace. Views across harbour either side of tall tree!
Everything we ate was sublime - prepared with flavour uppermost and care on the plate. But the Tuna ceviche with foraged edible seaweed, local fennel and lemon drops has to be one of the best plates of food I’ve ever enjoyed - truly sensational.
Dining room small intimate and uncluttered.
Reasonable choice of well priced wines.
If you love inventive tasty food visit this tall tree amongst the restaurants.
