I have just returned from this hotel and would certainly not return. Whilst the hotel is clean my room number309 ,overlooked a nearby hotel and consequently was very noisy. Also on arriving
I noticed a very unpleasant smell in the bathroom.I asked the maid what the smell was and she told me that she didn't know but she had told reception about it. When I spoke to reception they said they couldn't do anything about it due to the fact that it was Sunday. They refused to allow me to change rooms as they said the hotel was full. The beds were hard and the walls incredibly thin.
The waiters in the dining room were surly and the food not particularly good.
All in all I would not recommend this Hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid 309 unless the "smell " has gone !!

My wife and I recently stayed at the hotel , having previously stayed there a few years ago.
The hotel has not changed much, and is still impeccably clean, with the half board option food being satisfactory. ( We never heard anyone complain)

A couple of things detract from this hotel being even better, and one of them is noise, which is mentioned by other reviewers.
We experienced a mixture of external noise from 'partying' younger people, up to gone 04:00hrs! (Not from within the hotel)
Also, for some reason, doors could be heard 'banging' as soon as anyone had got up. This noise seemed to echo through the rooms, no matter where located.
So, we did have nights when we were in sleep deficit, not all of them, but some.

Apart from the noise situation, nothing would stop us from using this hotel again.
The location is great.......just take ear plugs!

I've stayed here many times & it feels like coming home. Small enough to offer a personal touch, staff are happy in their work & it really shows - quite a few of them have been with the hotel for several years & they could teach a training course in customer service - always remembering your name & likes & dislikes. Rooms are light & airy with decent bathrooms & good showers. Public areas are bright & cheerful, & restaurant is lovely, without the noise & clatter of the bigger hotels in the town. The outdoor pool is well-maintained & private, & a bonus is the roof garden, with a small pool at one side, & a hot tub at the other - great views up there too. The position is excellent, a short walk to the beach & lovely promenade, & 10 - 15 minute walk to the station, which has a fabulous service up the coast to the other seaside towns, or down the coast to Barcelona. Calella is a really wonderful little town, I've been visiting since the early days of package holidays in the 60s, & it remains charming, unspoiled & friendly.

Room Tip: The hotel opposite (Hotel Amaika), is quite large & can be noisy in high season, ask for a room...

Been to this hotel in August 2011 and stayed for a week. A tiny room, but clean, not very modern, a large bathroom. At night it gets noisy and so it is in the morning because there are no carpets and there's echo on the corridors and whenever somebody bangs the door you startle in your deepest sleep. Apart the noise, the pool is tiny and always in the shade,.Breakfast is 4 stars but that's the only thing about this hotel ranking so high. If I'd go again? Probably yes but only there's no better alternative for the same money. Location is great.

I have just returned after spending 5 nights at this hotel and can recommend it not only as a good place to stay whilst in Calella but also as a base to explore the local area due to it being only a brisk 10 minute walk from the railway station with it`s excellent inexpensive services to both Barcelona (I can heartily recommend the open topped bus tour leaving from Plaza de Catalunya as a very good way of enjoying the sights of this fanastic city) and the other nearby resorts. It is without doubt the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. The bedrooms are not the biggest but they are very comfortable and have the added bonus of an air conditioning system that is not only very effective but it stays on even when the room key card is removed (unlike in many hotels when the AC is automatically turned off when the card is removed). This means that when you return from the beach or whatever you do so to a nice cool room which I found a great boon given the 30 degree plus temperatures that we had during my stay. There was also free WiFi which was very welcome as I use my laptop to keep in touch with home (certainly saves on the mobile phone bill).

The public rooms again were very clean indeed, the bar well furished and comfortable and the service good. The bar staff, as with all the hotel`s employees, were very polite and spoke good english. The pool didn`t really catch the sun until after mid day and therefore it was usually mainly in the afternoon but was never particularly crowded and getting a sunbed was never a problem. If you do require morning sun there was a sun terrace and jacuzzi on the roof which I used several times. I was only staying on a bed and breakfast and therefore can`t comment on the lunch/evening food but the breakfast buffet offered something for all tastes and I admit I made the most of it on more than one occasion.

All in all I certainly enjoyed my stay at Les Palmeres and will almost certainly return there on my next visit to Calella.

The best point of this hotel is its cleanness. It is small, but well proportioned for its 96 capacity. The pool was never crowed, also because the sun was visible just after 11.30 .(the hotel is behind another one quite big).
Standards rooms are little, but we should not spend the time in the room:).Try to avoid the rooms neer elevator ,are noisy.
There are not a lot of kinds of dishes but the food is tasty. For the sweet and fruits admirers is not a big choice .The restaurant staff is polite and serviceable .I saw they are doing 7 consecutive days of working so dont expect they are all the time full of enthusiasm.
The dinner and breakfast hours are very good for who want to sleep more.(breakfast starst at 7.45).The staff did a good job in managing the restaurant room even if was not very large.
The hotel has a good location, 5 min to the see .If you search and you are not affraid of walking ,you can find also a free parking place.
This is one seaside 4 star hotel so i think is different for one 4 star in the city.

Room Tip: Avoid room neer elevator or room in the back.
