I chose this hotel with the assistance of the Trip Advisor Reviews and was not disappointed.

The transfer coach dropped us off on the main road so we were unable to see the hotel initially and we were all concerned that I might have made a poor choice, however, as soon as we walked through the automatic doors we were very happy. The reception looked exactly like the photos, very grand and welcoming.

The rooms were immaculately clean, good decor, bathrooms well-maintained.

Booked sauna/jacuzzi on arrival for the following day. Also had private use of the gym.

Great variety of meals, choice of wine and soft drinks available.

Staff in reception area were always helpful and professional. Special thanks go out to Cyril, Nues, Alba and Montserrat who each went above and beyond to make our stay such a pleasure.

The hotel is close to the beach and shopping district is a leisurely walk away.

Swimming pool regularly cleaned. Masseuse was available (fee charged). Daytime and evening entertainment available in the bar area.

All inclusive package deal was well worth it. We missed out on laundry service so do make request in good time prior to departure.

Everyone in my party were impressed with Hotel Amaika. The staff truly make the experience an enjoyable one. From the cleaner to the restaurant staff, the service was top class.

Room Tip: For a sea view pre-request a room on higher floor.

Clean and pleasant with good staff and well-located for the town, the beach and road/rail links to & from Calella. A plentiful choice of food and although not entirely to my taste, there was always something that I was prepared to eat and anyway, the all-inclusive package represents very good value. My only niggle would be that the shower cubicle was so small as to be unusable and somewhat pointless given that there is another perfectly usable shower over the bath, which itself is really too short to use because they seem to have wanted to squeeze in a separate shower cubicle....., but as I say a niggle: this is a good-value hotel and I would stay here again.

I was very pleasantly surprised by friendly staff in the hotel, restaurant and bar. Hotel close to the sea and the shopping center and the train. The food was excellent, we never lacked food, always fresh. Rooms cleaned daily and very friendly service. Always professional conduct in the reception and help! I had all inclusive premium and always drink what I wanted to be free. At the end gives a strong 4.5 stars

I have been to H Top Amaika Hotel 3 times now and we are already planning our next trip back.

The staff are very nice and very helpful and the hotel is nice. The Hotel is very close to the beach and to all amenities. We mostly eat out as it gives us more options but we have eaten in the hotel and its not bad. The hotel try to cater for all national rationalities so some foods may not suit all but you will find something that you'll like..

Looking forward to our next trip :)

We stayed for five nights in March as a last minute get-away. The weather was great, we were very lucky and it reached 25 Celsius everyday. The hotel is beautiful. We were given room 717, it was too high up for us, as both me and my partner aren't great with heights so we asked to move and the hotel were more than accommodating and we we're given room 416. The rooms are decorated to a really good standard and towels and sheets were changed everyday. The bathroom had both a bath and a shower and we were provided with some complimentary toiletries.

The food here is of a really good standard, I am a self-confessed fussy eater and there was always something I liked at every meal time. Breakfast consists of fresh fruit, eggs, frankfurters, streaky bacon, toast, grilled tomatoes, a massive selection of rolls and breads, juice, tea and coffee. There was also some cereals, croissants and other pastries and some granola for those wanting something extremely healthy.

Lunch and dinner consisted of two or three meat dishes, mainly pork, chicken and turkey which was all good quality and always hot. There would also be one or two fish dishes which I didn't try. There was also chips, copious amounts of salad, rice, pasta, sauces and fruit and on the Sunday there was also a roast dinner style dish.

Desserts at lunch and dinner were by far the best part of the meal, everyday you would have intricately made mini pastries, fresh fruit, a cake style dish, yoghurt and a hot desert dish.

The bar is nice, the drinks are plentiful and strong but my only gripe would be the bar staff who are so obnoxious and just plain rude. The AI snack bar was a cause for concern and I would say avoid, avoid, avoid.

Reception staff were lovely, as were the maids, couldn't do enough to help you, thing was too much trouble.

The pool area is ok, the weather was great for sunbathing but the pool was like a plunge pool, it was freezing, it didn't stop me getting in a few times but I came out blue.
For us going out of season, there was more than enough sun beds, but i dread to think what getting a sunbed is like in high-season, there were about 15 to go round and there is 24 rooms on each floor, there's 7 floors of rooms, it's a bit worrying really, so this is something to think about if you're going in he summer months.

Also there is no pool bar, which really should be a must, if you wouldn't a drink you had to put all your clothes back on, shoes on and go to the main bar, I tried to go in topless once and was ushered out of the bar by the bar staff. I know it's a four star hotel and therefore you expect a dress code, but really there should be something in place for those outside sunbathing.

We used the Jacuzzis every night we were there, they're great, when you book a jacuzzi room (free of charge), you get exclusive use for an hour of the Jacuzzi, Sauna and the shower in that room, lovely to chill out for a bit, but it's evil on sunburn.

The local area is lovely, there's loads to explore, we walked for two miles through the shopping district and still didn't reach the end, a lot of the shops directly close to the hotel were closed due to it being low season, but we expected that going away at that time.

The beach wasn't really my cup of tea, this sounds really pathetic, but the sand is horrible, it's not quite sand, and not quite stones, but it resulted in your feet sliding all over the place as the grains of sand were too large to compact together properly.

I would recommend this hotel too everyone, as long as you know what the bad things are and you accept them anyway. Great holiday. Wouldn't return but only because we don't go to the same place twice.

Just returned from 5 nights at this hotel 30th May to 4th June
We have stayed in a number of H-top Hotels so know what to expect

Location: Good middle of town near all facilities
Food Can only say this was poor (same soup on all the time, cream of veg or Catalan)
Both wife & I had iffy tummies after the first day
Room Requested High Floor - Given First Floor overlooking yard
Rooms cleaned everyday no problems there
Bar Nice bar Proper glasses (Queues will be long in main season)
Entertainment Fri/Sat/Sun - very Poor Mon/Tues OK-ish

Use of Safe Euro 28.00 + 10.00 Deposit(bit steep)

Alkatraz English bar around the corner is a friendly place

Bars across the road do nice Tapas

Overall would stay again but not all inclusive

Room Tip: Try & get high floor overlooking the pool

We had requested to be on a high floor with a sea view and that is exactly what we were given. A corner room facing the pool with a good panoramic view. Because of Resorthoppa leaving us waiting at the airport for 2 1/2 hours we arrived at 14:20......just 10 minutes before the restaurant stopped serving lunch. We were asked if we would like to go for lunch and then check in later. That was a nice gesture so that is what we did.
There are 4 lifts, 2 either side of reception. The ones to the right were glass so you had a view of outside. The room we were allocated (704) was a decent size with twin beds, large sliding mirrored wardrobes with plenty of hangers, a minibar which was ideal for keeping drinks cool and a decent sized bathroom with bath, separate shower cubicle, bidet and wash basin. Ladies...please be aware that the hairdryer is a unit on the wall with a hose attached to a handle...warning!!! this handle gets very hot during use and I had to wrap a towel round it.
As per previous comments, the walls are very thin and there were a lot of French people staying at the same time. The pair of French women sharing the room next to ours were very expressive and very vocal, especially at night time!! Fortunately we had no-one to the other side of us.
The restaurant was very nice although one area seemed to be a bit cramped with tables and chairs so we always chose to go to the right side. There were two toasting machines, two juice machines and two hot drinks machines and there was never too much queuing. There was plenty of choice of food although not all of it was to our liking. There were a couple of days when the choice of evening meal wasn't to my liking so I stuck to pasta and salad. If you go for your meals bang on time then you will be lucky enough to get it whilst it is still hot, otherwise it does tend to go cold rather quickly.
The staff do a very good job and our room was cleaned daily. Some people have already commented on one grumpy member of the bar staff....you will know which one it is when you get there!
For a hotel of this size we were very surprised by the small pool area. The sunbeds are all pushed together with not much room to manoeuvre. There is no way that all of the guests could use this area all at once and the sun has gone by 4ish. We spent most of our time at the beach which was a 5 min walk away.
