Just back from a week 31st May to 7th June, walls are very thin, could hear television from others rooms throughout the night and others guest. No umbrellas out, restaurant not opening on time so queues, drinks were served in small glasses and only allowed 1 at a time. We found the card system frustrating in remembering to take the black card when ordering your drinks and as there was no photograph on your card and being in a group the cards were easily mixed up. However our holiday was with the family and we still had a very enjoyable holiday, with plenty of laughs. Plenty of variety of food which satisfied us, would definitely visit Calella again but would book different hotel the next time.

Just got back from Calella Palace. Had a great time , We stayed all inclusive and the food was amazing (if you want fish and chips go to blackpool) . The rooms are good , two double beds ,balcony , good size bathroom , very clean BUT you can hear everything through the walls (couples shouting at each other and the kids all night, what is wrong with people !!!!!).The roof bar terrace was very good with 3 hot tubs (warm I would of said ) lots of sunbeds but realy hot and could do with some shade. The town of Calella has something for everyone, good food good bars and plenty of very good clothes shops. You can take the train to Barcelona (45 mins) and have a great day .Will be going back .

We stayed there between June 1st and 5th 2014.
We are A young married couple with two small children (ages 2.5 years and a 3 months old baby).
This is a 2 star hotel at the most.
No air condition in the rooms as a hotel policy in order to save money on electricity).
No hot water in the afternoon.
No free wifi.
No free safe.
No free hot tub.
Extra old and thin walls, you can hear everything in other room from conversations to television.
Elevators are real tiny do we had to wait at least 5-10 minuets until there was room to use it, in result, lots of people were using the stairs
Really really bad food (we stayed full board) so we ate out most of the time.
In overall a real bad hotel.
Will never come back here.

Stayed here for Christmas. A bit dubious after reading the reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. Good, plentiful food. Lovely people, good supply of drinks (funny card system for glasses!) Clean hotel and Calella was very nice.

Took my boyfriend here for ten days as we were attending the formula 1 in Montmelo. The staff were very friendly as we asked them about the trains as we were unsure about the stops etc. we were half board and I have to say the food was actually really good and there was so much to choose from, to be fair I'm quite a plain eater and my boyfriend is fussy so the fact that they were able to cater for us both was perfect! The days we attended the f1 we booked packed lunches which were included in our holiday price and are great if you are going out for the day. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day, and you'd meet the maids nearly every morning cleaning the front steps or the lifts. Overall a very clean hotel, the only downside was the balcony was on a slope which made me quite nervy when I went out on it but i would recommend this hotel to anyone, a lot of guests moved from the Olympic to ours and couldn't believe the difference between the two so if you had to choose, choose the palace!

This is a well run hotel providing good value for money. The food in the restaurant provides a wide variety of choice to suit most guests so I saw no reason to eat elsewhere. The alcohol with the all inclusive is local but generally ok.
Guests need to bare in mind that Spanish 4 star is not the same as British but it is a clean hotel.
I would ceratinly recommend it to others.

We stayed in the Calalla Palace and arrived home today.
We stayed on floor 5 and found the hotel to be reasonable and good value for money.
Didnt find that we needed to upgrade to gold card as was happy with the local stuff. I found the beer lovely but the soft drinks did make the kids hyper.
The food was good and plenty of choice. None of the four of us had a bad belly which is unusual for us on a family break. The spanish may cook slightly different cuts of meat to us or maybe in a different way but food was always cooked well and presented very well.
The english lady in the restaurent was very helpful and always willing to help. The animation crew or entertainment crew where excellent with kids and one even came to the hotel and played with our kids on her day off.
My son took a real shine to one of the crew and chased and played with him all holiday, this was never to much for any of there team and i think they helped make a lovely holiday enjoyable.
Sadly the lady at the internal shop and the bar staff seemed down or low (miserable) and this sort of takes the shine off of a holiday like this. It seemd at times that they where trained to frown.
There where 2x bar staff that i found really chatty funny and interactive so would just wait for these to serve us but obviously were not always there.
The room wasnt ideal as we had 2 x double beds for the four of us. 2 children in one and myself and the wife in the other.
I found the most annoying part of the holiday was being told that "This is not the season for this" consistantly drove me mad.
firstly there is no air con as it is "out of season for this"
The jacuzzi on the roof were cold, none of the water features for the pools worked even the lighting on the balcony was "Out of season for this"
Hotel staff did say they would get back to me with infomation from management but never did and we felt a little cheated as this was the reasons we had chosen the hotel.
The reception staff would go out of there way to help out if they could and when my camera broke and needed to be connected to a computer before our trip to Barcelona one of the reception staff stayed late and helped me to fix it well above and beyond what i had expected.
Watch out for street traders even in shops they will rob your pants if the could. Dont buy anything they tell you is genuine because it isnt. Items from footballs, Barcelona shirts to mens shirts have all fallen apart as soon as we washed them when home.
A decent family holiday for the money- i think most of the people we had spoken to had payed rougly the same as us which was in and around £200per week per person inc flights and transfers etc..
One thing i did love here was you could use your all inclusive cards at any of the H-Top hotels which meant we could get lunch and drinks at any of the H-top hotels in the area. (15 of them)

Room Tip: Go top floors to reduce noise from disco students, drinkers etc.... Unless you are any of the above...
