We stayed there in May 2008, during our honeymoon in Spain. The hotel has an excellent location (we had a room with sea view : ) ), very clean, food is fresh and tasty with a variety of dishes to choose from, loved the rooftop jacuzzi and the indoor pool : ).The staff is friendly (including the manager) and ready to solve any unpleasant issue - like the one we had with an old German couple who stayed next door and the man used to start and end the day singing German tunes very loudly for minutes in a row!!! The only inconvenience of this hotel are the very thin walls - you can hear every move and even entire conversations from the neighbours all around your room, but if you are not the type to spend most of your time in the room, the postive aspects of staying in Maritim are many more than the downsides.
I would definitely go back but be very specific about wanting to book a quiet room!

July 2008:

stayed with my husband, two kids and father in law. Had a wonderfull time. The hotel staff were friendly, the rooms were perfect with the airconditioning and we had a great see view.

The swimmingpool was big enough, the entertainment could be a little better. The food was good enough to eat. Our kids enjoyed themselves thoroughly and my father in law enjoyed himself too.

At 5 in the afternoon we jumped into the jacuzzi inside and in the inside pool. At 7 in the evening a last view on the rooftop over the sea.

so our conclusion is.........

this year we are going again ;-)))

we have been here for 8 nights on june 2008 on our honeymoon.
the hotel has a great location, very close to the beach. the staff is helpfull. food is great, the only problem is the restaurant is very crowded at dinner time and sometimes we had to wait in line in order to be seated. the rooms are clean are quite large. the town is magnificent, tipically spanish, lots to see and to do.

Hi, I was staying in Maritm Hotel for 9 days with my family ( husband and a nine years old).We checked in late at about 23.30 and the room that was given to us was the smallest room I evere seen in a hotel, and the "view" was a huge white wall..As I couldnt spend my holiday in that I room, I was down to reception to ask for a different room. It was told to us that next morning we will be sorted out. On the next morning, the Hotel manager said that they have only one room left , which was a seaview room and we had to pay € 130 euros for it.It was such a big lie, as the hotel was half empty, but we ended by pay that amount...The food was as well very poor selection.....We could not eat there so we ended spend more money eating out for the entire holiday ( we paid for half board).I saw excelent reviews about the cleaning. It was not like that at al!!! All they did was the beds and changing the bin and towels...Disgracefull....One day we asked to had lunch instead dinner, which was not possible ...we had to tell them a day in advance...The day before we go we asked info re the bus that go to Girona airport, and the receptionist said we had to book 3 days in advance...At the very beginig we asked to have lunch in the last day,and initially they said yes, BUT in the day we left they change their mind saying that they will not "cook lunch" for 3 people, so we were let down again...A very negative atittude on all hotel staff.THe swiming pool was big as 3 bath tubs...The indoor pool was very small as well. The only nice thing was the 2 jacuzzi on the roof..So, all in one, I would not recomend this Hotel to my friends at all.

Lovely location, rooms basic but very clean, balconly very very small which was a nuisence as we like to sit out and have a drink late afternoons and evenings. You could only stand out on it, one person at a time.
pool very small and not much sun but roof top terrace and jacuzzis were lovely, lots of sun and very comfortable sun beds.
food was ok, breakfast good but evening meal consisted of alot of pork and fish. even the pasta salad and cabbage had ham in it! if you manage to get a good rate for this hotel then it is more than adequate.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Maritim, it was everything we expected of a european sun holiday.
All areas of the hotel were extremely clean and throughly cleaned daily. Families tended to stay near the pool although, getting a bed, means putting your towles out before breakfast. The hotel has just opened a roof top terrace with 2 jaquzzis (take the lift to 7th floor and you'll see an external staircase) and loads of sunbeds. Always able to get one a lot of those. The jquzzis are great to cool off and relax. Plus kids tend not to be up there, very peaceful.
The breakfast was excellent and offered a wide variety, cereals, fruit, cold meats and cheese (never quite understand that!) and cooked breakfast items. Bacon and Sausages not quite like the ones at home, but tasted great. Although, we had paid for Half board we didn't eat in the hotel. The buffet style wasn't quite to our taste but did look perfectly edible. Pizza, nuggets etc for kids, and pork steaks for example for the adults.
We ate out every night and there are a lot of restaurants at very reasonable prices. Although the resort layout was not quite what I expected. Shame no restaurants along the beach front, and many cellar style, few with outdoor eating areas, but all great food. There is also a McDonalds in case you are really stuck, but we managed to find plenty.
The beach is very long and sandy (quite rough but extremely clean). Lots of bars on the beach and the beah is split into different zones with different activities. Peddlo's and beach volley ball courts etc.
Boat trips available up the coast to Lloret de Mar, from right near the hotel (no pier, look out for the ticket sales hut. Free bus services to local water parks.
I was worried about the train line running so close to the hotel, but they are amazingly quite and only 1 every 40 mins or so and not through the night.
Train station 15 mins walk from hotel, exellent service and less then 7 euros return to Barcelona, I would definately recommend this, of stopping off at one of the quieter beaches on the way into Barcelona. The train takes 1hour to Barcelona and once there we did the tour bus around the city, with hop on, hop off at all the attrations. The best way to see it. Also found the best Paella in a restaurant called Navarra just off the central square.
I always avoid the English bars on holiday, but found Alcatraz, also a sorts bar, but best atmosphere in resort. mixture of different sports on many tv screens, Bingo & Karoke every night. Great entertainment even though we only spectated.
Fab holiday. Loved the hotel, resort generally quiet but a few bars and clubs if you fancy them.
