Its a business hotel and its business like service. staff smart, efficient, polite. Its perfect if you like quality, peace and good service. not much for kids. rooms spacious, spotless.great air conditioning. ignore comments about being next to train line, doesnt impact atall.dining area lovely. gym small but great. swimming pool area has pool bar.tv in room only two english news channels. hairdryer in attached to wall in toilet and not the best. for family they have a room with double bed and bunk beds, one big room with partial wall, two tvs, two balconies, huge room with huge bathroom. lacked slighly in holiday atmosphere. for kids the rovira hotel is right across the road from the beach in middle of town and has a two bedroom suite which is cheaper.in all the tryp is a fab quality hotel in a good location, 2 minutes to a 10 km stretch of beautiful beach.upmarket place to stay

Room Tip: any floor, left side look on to pool and not much view. right side look on to gardens and you can h...

The staff couldnt do enough for us, booking a fishing trip and always interested in what we'd been doing. The hotel had a small pool and wifi in reception. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice. We had dinner too which wasnt quite as good, as the main courses sometimes lacked flair. Eg the curry was more like a stew.
So I'd use the hotel again but not bother with dinner as there are loads of interesting places to eat in cambrils

It's been a couple of years since we stayed at the Tryp and it's just as good as ever.

Reception staff helpful and the beds in the Premium rooms are enormous!

Food first class and Cambrils is getting even better as a town to visit.

We will be back soon.

Room Tip: All ate good but most have twin beds so if you want a double, ask at booking

We spent 5 days here towards the end of the summer as our kids wanted to go visit the PortAventura theme park. We booked a deal including breakfast - as we wanted the flexibility to try other places for dinner and we knew we would be out mostly during the day. The hotel is very well located for the theme park - a few minutes drive and about 15 minutes from Reus airport and, IMO, a rental car is essential. Parking is a slight issue as you will have to park in surrounding streets - thereby competing for space with all the several apartment residents in the vicinity.

The hotel staff were extremely courteous and were very keen to please. Breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice available. On a couple of days, we used the swimming pool (which is an outdoor one - open in summer periods only) and had no issues. The kids particularly enjoyed using it. Do explore the area - which has several decent restaurants. The hotel restaurant was also very good - although a fair bit pricier than some of the local ones.

The hotel is listed as a 4-star hotel and from our experience, this is the correct designation. It gets 5-stars from us for meeting this and for the service quality provided by staff. It feels like a business hotel but is also very good for families.

Room Tip: Avoid the back of the hotel as this backs onto a railway line and although well soundproofed, the vi...

Like the previous reviewer we spent a few hectic days in Barcelona before coming to Cambrils for a rest. Cambrils is a beautiful Spanish town with a gorgeous beach, completely the opposite of Salou which is around 10 minutes away on the bus and is a Brits abroad type of resort with lots of English/Irish pubs etc. Cambrils is a lot more upmarket than that - in fact there are not that many bars there, mainly restaurants and tapas bars.

We got a fantastic deal on the hotel through Trivago and I really didn't expect the food to be that great - we never stay half board or go all inclusive at hotels - but it was fantastic - we couldn't fault any of it.

Best location in Cambrils - around 5 minutes walk to the beach and marina. We didn't see anywhere else we would have chosen to stay if we return to Cambrils

We stayed at this hotel after four days sightseeing in Barcelona. We needed to relax for a few days before returning home and the Tryp Port was just what was needed.
The hotel is excellent and the staff very friendly. Breakfast is a typical continental buffet with the addition of (streaky) bacon, scrambled, fried or hard boiled eggs, sometimes beans, sometimes mushrooms. Plenty to go at for all tastes. Similarly the evening meal buffet was plentiful and varied.
The room was quiet, clean and comfortable.
The Tryp Port is advertised as having evening entertainment but we only experienced this on our final night which was officially the start of their season. Even so, due to a hotel a street away, the cacophony whilst sitting on our balcony at 10pm drove me inside to the sanctity of the sound-proofed bedroom for a quiet read!
A train line at the rear of the hotel came as a bit of a surprise but as we were at the front of the hotel (sea-view upgrade room), this did not bother us at all. The trains are not so frequent that it is of great concern whilst relaxing by the pool.
I must admit that I was expecting a quieter location but not having been to Spain before and more used to sleepy backwaters elsewhere, this probably was comparatively quiet.
We asked for a late check-out so that we could have a day by the pool before our late afternoon flight. This was possible as the hotel was not fully booked but it cost an extra 30 euros. A useful scale was available in the foyer (for 1 euro) to weigh the suitcase to ensure no unexpected baggage surcharges.

Room Tip: A room at the front of the hotel is worth paying extra for.

Just back from a week (23rd-30th May 2012) in the Tryp Port. Couldn't fault anything about this hotel or the resort of Cambrils. Spotlessly clean hotel, friendly helpful staff, great selection of food at breakfast and dinner, wi fi reception throughout. Very comfy beds and pillows. The hotel is close to the railway tracks but its not a particularly busy line and the sound of the odd train was barely audible when the balcony doors were closed. Very good location within a couple of minutes walk to lovely sandy beach, resort centre and bus stop. Great bus service. Resort of Cambrils has pretty promenade and marina lined with shops and restaurants. Much quieter and more up market than neighbouring Salou. Tarragona well worth a visit with its Roman heritage. Would recommend this hotel and resort without hesitation or reservation and hope to return again.
