Just come back from a long weekend in Cambrils and was very happy with the service and particularly the food in the hotel dining room at Best Maritim. We go to Cambrils every Easter for a sports tournament and stay at a different hotel each time. Of the last 3 this is easily the best in terms of service / value for money.

The choice of food was excellent, including paella and prawns on Saturday night and the wok service was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious and clean.

Will probably go back again next year and am happy to recommend the hotel.

Dear Guest,

We would like to appreciate your opinion about your stay in our hotel Best Maritim.

We are glad you were happy with the food served in our buffet, we always try to have a wide variety of food so that everyone can find something tasty to eat.

All staff works really hard to keep up the quality standards and it is very rewarding to have comments as your one valuing their work.

We are sure your opinion will be very useful for people willing to book Best Maritim in the future.

Yours sincerely,

Hotel situated on outskirts of Cambrils 10 mins from Salou, busy bus stop outside hotel starts at 0400, main train line across road drivers like to use their horns !! Parking 12 Euros per day or top tip try to park in green bays in girl lot (staff parking) however we were told to park in these bays and it was free. Staff were OK, rooms tidy however fridge is 3 Euros a day, iron 2 Euros an hour, WIFI free.
We did B&B, breakfast was great will suit all tastes. Hotel Entertainment not so good but plenty if bars, cafés within walking distance. Salon 10 mins up the road for partying. The beach is quiet and relaxing. Coach trips are from the main entrance we did Barcelona 6 hrs for 23 Euros ok but would prefer more time.
All in all not a bad hotel or location. If I were to go again I would ensure a beach view.

The first thing I would say about the Best Maritim is don't book all inclusive! You're treated like a second class citizen - the first night there we were told that as we were all inclusive we weren't allowed table-service in the bar, or bar terrace! Never have I been a guest in any hotel, anywhere, and been informed that, as their 'guest' I wasn't allowed table-service. Not only is my money as good as anyone else's(and it wasn't exactly cheap), I tip! I also found that at the snack-bar they could be a little begrudging when we ordered burgers or toasties, anything that had to be cooked, until they realised that even though we were all inclusive we still tipped them, of course, not exactly professional though. But on the other-side of that, there were a few really good guys behind the bar and snack bar. Also, they give you those out-dated wrist-bands instead of using your room key.
Some of the hotel room amenities are not as sold; there are no ironing facilities, you have to go down to reception, pay a deposit of 10 euros and then 2 euros for the hour use. And our large double twin room was in fact one twin bed, and one fold up/camp bed, that you had to try and manouvre to get to the balcony! We had a fridge, or so we thought, turns out after we left a bottle of water in it one night, that you must have to pay to have it switched on!
Our room, to be fair, was cleaned everyday, however, our bathroom a few hours after being cleaned would start smelling faintly of a mans urinal(is that ever faint?)! I noticed there was new silicone around the toilet and I wonder if this was an old problem not cleaned properly before being sealed up, so to speak...and the rooms themselves were scruffy around the edges and dated.
The restaurant; lots and lots of food, this is true, however not all of a very nice quality. But what really stopped us, mostly, from eating in there was the Russians! Never have I come across a more collectively miserable bunch of people than at this hotel. You would walk into the restaurant and instantly hit a wall of misery! Don't they know they're on holiday?! Added to this, their greed knew no bounds, they would grab every glass of morning Cava they could, leaving others without and then leaving untouched glasses behind, pile their plates ridiculously high and stuff food into bags(yes, anything they could!!), without a thank-you, please, or smile in anyone's direction. What I will say about the restaurant staff is that their patience and professionalism while dealing with such rudeness, couldn't be faulted, and the restaurant manager added that touch of class by welcoming and talking to every diner as they entered. Even so, the misery was too much for us, so we ate elsewhere. Overall, other than the location, which was perfect for the beach, literally right on it, I found my stay here disappointing. Those reviews that say this hotel should be a 4 star?! Absolutely not.
Also, this hotel is not in Cambrils, it's in Vilafortuny, about half an hour away.

Stayed in hotel Maritim- Salou August 29th to 12 Sept. absolutely loved it. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. Very large balcony, with a view to die for over pool & sea.
Room cleaned every day, and cleaners very polite.
Food was excellent. Two / three chefs cook stir fries, choice of meats and fish each evening. Omelettes cooked whilst you wait at breakfast lots of choice.
The entertainment staff never stopped. Aqua aerobics each day, pool side games and volleyball on beach which is literally at the end of the sun beds. We found all the staff nice. No complaints with staff or hotel.
Only negative side was the hotel was full of Russians. I'm certainly not racist, I love all nationalities but goodness, they were so miserable, didn't smile even though we went out of our way to smile, NO, they couldn't even smile. Don't think they understand anything about queuing.
This didn't spoil our holiday though. Would defiantly go back.

Just returned from a two week stay at the Best Maritim with my two sons. Firstly, the good points. The hotel was far better than I expected, considering its 3 star rating. Food was good, bar service excellent, rooms were a little small (we had 3 of us in a twin room so it was cramped, the third bed was a camp bed placed in front of the patio doors making access onto the balcony difficult). Large pool with lots of terrace area for sunbathing. Great location right on the beach, convenient for travel to Salou and Cambrils with very good bus service. Good animation team who don't pester you if you don't want to join in, but are there if you do. Bad points. Rude reception staff, queues, cleanliness of our room could have been better, very noisy at night with doors banging and people returning to their rooms chatting at full volume with no consideration for others. Our room was on ground level right near the pool so we were woken at around 6 every morning to the sound of sunbeds being dragged across the terrace. The main problem for us, however, was the large volume of East European guests who I have to say are the rudest most arrogant people I have ever met. They have no idea what a queue is and just blatantly push in at the restaurant and fill their plates as though they are never going to get fed again. The entertainment wasn't brilliant but we went out in the evenings so wasn't a problem for us and by 11.30/midnight the music was switched off. The pool is very cold and the lifeguard seemed to spend his whole time on his mobile phone so God forbid there was ever an emergency. On the whole, however, we enjoyed our stay but don't think I would return due to the number of Russian guests and also the fact that this area has not been my favourite part of Spain - very expensive!

Dear Family
Thank you very much for your time spends on the review of our hotel. Just knowing how is feeling our customer helps us very much to do a better job. I'm sorry you have not been comfortable on this occasion because of the clients of a specific nationality staying at that time in the hotel. We regret to know that we have not met your expectations and the levels of services that characterize our hotel. We can only hope that you may perhaps decide to visit us again in the future to see how we have amended the issues mentioned

We were late booking our holidays and wanted a last minute week on the coast, in front of the beach. Not many options so we chose this hotel in Cambrils, despite we pay an extra cost for last minute deal. First impression was not extremely good, but changed in the measure we started to enjoy the hotel and what offers. Rooms are ok for a 3 stars hotel, 2 big beds in the room, internet for free reached my room (not all were so lucky), and half board food was plenty, quite good, and not long queues for custom made dishes (2 chefs cooking wok, ommeletes, etc). Service is not local mostly, lots of eastern europe and russian young ladies, but very kind and service oriented, and we got some outdoor table which was great for night shows. I hate this hotel kind of night show made for tourist, but must said i really enjoyed the offer every night and my kids even more, staying almost until midnight dancing or watching the show. On the rooms, only when opening the windows you could hear the noise, otherwise quite isoleted, airco bit noisy but good. But the best was the location, nice swimming pool but the nice beach of Cambrils in front of the hotel, literaly in front, 3 meters and you walk on sand. Beach is incredible, nice, well maintained, and salty water already for you 25 meters from the hotel backentrance. Gym available as well, but you can run as I did on a long promenade that connects Salou and Cambrils, lot to run before a sea swim! Overall, for a 3 stars hotel, altought expensive due last minute booking, it was a great stay and would not mind to repeat again, as experience was very good.

Room Tip: Those next to the beach are the best option, altought swiming pool view ones are also ok, a bit more...

Got home from this hotel a week ago and found it excellent for what we booked. Stayed as a couple for 7 nights with half board. Hotel is in quiet enough location, good for families and couples. Pool looks out onto the beach which is only a few feet away so it suits everyone. Close to a lot of excellent bars on the beach in the salou direction which a great for cocktails/drinks at night. The food in the hotel was quite good, huge amount of choice. I found breakfast better than lunch/dinner. Half board was the best way to go, i think, and you can change between lunch and dinner day to day. I would recommend having lunch in the hotel and lunch elsewhere, few very nice places for barfood within walking distance or taxi to salou/cambrils no more than €10. For breakfast there was cereal, fruit, cooked meats, cold meats and lots of pastries with juices and tea/coffee. Dinners were everything from stir fries, local dishes, potatoes, cooked meats, soups, fish and speciality dishes every night. Only thing that dissappointed big time were the desserts. Each night the hotel puts on some sort of show, not all of these are enjoyable but since they're free you cant complain. If booking try and stress how much you want a sea view, and be sure to get a fridge for your room.

Room Tip: Be sure to request a sea view
