I came back today from Hotel Augustus I had an absolutely amazing time at this hotel, I booked a late deal from on the beach.com and paid around £40 each for a 3 night stay with food!!! With paying so little I did not expect much, but was shocked to find such a lovely Hotel!! The staff were all very friendly, and happy to help, (especially a small spanish waiter named Wictor!). The rooms and general areas are kept very clean (maid service everyday), the food was a buffet style resturaunt and all food was of a very high standard. The hotel is quite a walk from the strip, but we found a lovely bike hire shop and quite enjoyed the walk up there too!! If not a taxi was only around 7 euros. The beach is literally a meter away from the hotel, it has lovely views and lots of entertainment. This hotel is not loud atall! I really loved my stay here and we are going to book again for September! I really reccomend this hotel & resort xxx

The hotel is nicely situated a bit away from the Salou city centre, which is a huge advantage since its much less crowded and much less of the "tourist" atmosphere in a bad way. The price was reasonable as well, and the beach is at your doorstep pretty much.

The rooms are a bit dated and the "double bed" are just 2 singles pushed together. The hotel seems to charge you for everything possible, E.G. for motorcycle parking 6 eur (and the receptionist was convincing me its pay parking all around, even though I've found free bike parking just down the road - I never pay to park a bike). They even charge you to use minibar as a fridge, which is ridiculous. Overall, the hotel is nice and good value for money, but leaves a bit bitter taste - like when you fly Ryanair and see their attempts to charge for everything possible.

Just returned from a 7 night stay at the Hotel Augustus and enjoyed every minute.
As a family of four (2 children) the hotel catered for our every need. The rooms were spacious and cleaned every day, beds very comfortable and the kids beds pull out from under the main beds which is great to save room space during the day.
The food was of a very high quality and there was plenty of choice, including a separate buffet section for the children. Food was hot and fresh and there were always Chefs on hand to replenish the food - they never once ran out of anything. We especially found it useful having our own table for the week (the restaurant Manager alocates you one when you arrive) - no queing and waiting for a table.
The swimming pool was great and my youngest child enjoyed paddling in the smaller dipping pool.
Our evenings were spent enjoying the free hotel entertainment which although was geared mainly for the Spanish guests we enjoyed it very much. The quality of the entertainment certainly stepped up a gear though when the Spanish bank holiday came around with face painting, children's entertainer and mini disco.
The beer and wine in the hotel bar is reasonably priced although beware that soft drinks are expensive and my daughter ordered a strawberry milkshake which cost 3.50 euros.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and great with the children.
The location of the hotel was superb, only 15 minutes from the airport and a 30 minute walk along the beach to Salou town centre. The bus service is great and there is a bus stop right outside the hotel which will take you to Cambrils (beautiful town), Portaventura theme park and Barcelona.
I would highly recommend the Hotel Augustus and we hope to return there in the future.

Stayed in the apartments on an excellent HB deal with travel republic. Apartment was ok - but very clean. Kitchen new but no kettle and very few pots! Lounge furniture very dated & old. Bedroom sparse but beds very comfortable. Bathroom ok. The hotel & restaurant were very stylish and food was good as expected for a 4* hotel in Spain. The staff are excellent. The hotel is right on the beach in a quite area.

Room Tip: Can not comment on Hotel Rooms as have not seen any of them.

Rooms cleaned while at breakfast . Bar prices quite reasonable and entertainment free every night. Reception staff very knowledgable and helpful. I have travelled to Spain with my family this month, and unfortunately ended up in the Hotel Augustus that was meant to be a 4 star hotel. Upon check in we were told that safe is for 4Euro
(which was a bit shocking because I did not know any hotel that did that; and I travel a lot). The next shock was the size of the rooms ( having 2 adults and 2 children in one room makes it unbearable) then, the fridge was LOCKED. When we went to the balcony, you could see that unless you close your curtains every single room on the opposite side of the building could see you!

When it came to solving issues with car rental and internet access, reception had little help except Marie and Muhamed who were the only helpful and smiley people in the hotel. There was one man from reception, who absolutely refused talking to me and was ignoring when any question was asked.

Impossible to sleep before 12 am because of extensive noise from the concerts every night. Never again going to stay in this hotel even if it was the last one in the world. If you do not want you vacation to be ruined, do not think about choosing this one.

We stayed for 5 nights end of July and the hotel was absolutely full. Guests everywhere at all times.
Some negative comments first: You cannot use the minibar/fridge in your room without paying rent. Also I think the safety deposit box should have been included in the room rate and not charge EUR 20 for 5 days at a 4 star hotel.
The restaurant is huge and it makes it feel like a canteen and it is also very noisy.
Rooms are quite small and the isolation is not good, so quite noisy too.
The worst to me is the swimming pool. Way too small for this size hotel and not heated. We arrived just before 10: 00 everyday and not once did we get a sun-bed by the pool. Whilst not many people were there they had put their towels on the sun-beds and the hotel staff let them do it.
Positive: Parking is EUR 10 per day, which is reasonable. Friendly staff.
The food in the restaurant was very good and it was nice that they would keep your bottle of wine for you in their fridge. The organisation in the restaurant was good and on our last day we ordered a pick-nick that we took with us. it was free as we did not eat lunch on the day we arrived and it was more than enough for all 4 of us.
The hotel interior/decoration is modern and nice.
The beach is nice with quite shallow water, also good for small kids.
Would we stay again at this hotel? Probably not, mainly because of the issues around the swimming pool, which was unacceptable for us.
