Just returned after a week .Room large and spotless for a family of 4.Plenty of towels tea towels and wash liquid provided. Also an iron and hairdryer are provided too.The pool are is lovely. The entertainment isnt up to much same everyday. The big problem with this hotel is the location it is
Right next to the train lines and very busy trains every 20 mins 24/7 .Our room was 301 right next to the track not only did the trains go past late at night they beeped their horns as well, this at 5 am was annoying! Little sleep. There are a few pubs near by rugby bar food lovely not so keen on the Mucky ducks food.
Bike hire in the hotel is great as you can bike it into salou or cambrills a lovely ride along the beach front. The beach is across the road from the hotel a lovely beach .
Overall the hotel is clean and nice its the trains that spoils it .If booking ask for a beach view room this is not near the train line.

We stayed at the this hotel for 7 nights and didn't enjoy it at all. Their website was very misleading and the photos taken, do not convey the type of resort it is. It's split in two with one building of accomm on one side of the road by facing the beach with bars under it. The other 4 blocks (majority of accommodation) are on the other side of the road directly next to (and i mean directly next to) a busy railway track. The trains passed within 5 metres of the entrance to our block...we were just seperated by a wire fence. The trains run from 6.30am to at least 11 at night and practically shake the building each time they pass. We unfortunately paid for half board with included evening meals....we were really disappointed...the food was awful...I don't think many people chose half board so maybe thats why they made such little effort but it was all like gruel and you could see the food not used the previous night in dishes in a different for the next night and even the next. We even asked the one staff member present what was actually were a couple of the dishes cause they were unrecognisable and she actually hadn't a clue. The breakfast was pretty ok but we ate out most nights after checking out the evening buffet. You have to pay for your sun lounger every day by the pool and if you left it there too long without your towel on it the life guard would pick it up and put it backa nd you'd have to pay again for another one. There was little to no entertainment for kids...an hour each evening was had one crazy woman with dreads dance around and play stiff statues with them to music and that was the extent of it. The apartments themselves were very average....no cleaning service...they just knocked on the door and handed you a bag with with fresh towels once during the week and collected the dirty ones. The wifi was non existant...you had to pay for it firstly and then it only worked in reception...all day and evening you'd see people sitting around reception trying to get a signal. I know it sounds like i'm being really negetive about the place but all this is 100% true.....there are some nice features..it is near the beach and the pool is lovely but i think if anyone is considering booking this they need to know the facts!

Room Tip: The only good rooms with a sea view are the ones in the small block across the street. Lots of people request them but very few available.

We have just come back from pins platja and have to say what a wonderful holiday we have had , I travelled with my husband and 5 children and had a 3 bedroom apartment which was very spacious, Clean , Excellent air conditioning and had everything you could need for a self catering holiday , our apartment had 2 bathrooms 2 twin bedrooms and a double room.
The pool area was excellent and travelling with smaller and older children was made easy as I could see both pool and could keep a close eye on all my children, the smaller pool has a slide which my kids loved .
The location is also very good your can walk into salou one way and cambrils the other way they are about 30/40 mins walk but we found it lovely as you can walk all the way down the sea front to both and the kids enjoyed paddling in the sea all the way down, you can also catch the bus which is 2 euro per person .
The supermarket is very good value and you can find pretty much everything you need there, there are also 2 restaurants across the road which are very good.
The staff at pins platja was really friendly and couldn't help enough we are defiantly going back next year , one of the best holidays we have had ,
Thank you pins platja.

We spent a lovely 4 nights here the first week in June 2014. We had booked this fairly last minute with Alpharooms and were not disappointed. We had a great side view of the beach in the block above the Italian Restaurant and opposite Popeye’s Bar. The 1 bedroom apartment was everything we had expected. Nothing fancy but clean and functional like any other decent Mediterranean apartment. No loo roll on the first day which was a bit awkward until we popped to the supermarket over the road.
I can appreciate the ‘train’ issue could be a problem for those staying at the back of the main apartment blocks and was a bit of a nuisance when we were hanging out by the pool but it didn’t bother us in our room and with the beach so close we spent our days there instead.
We will definitely be returning!

Room Tip: Couples wanting peace and quiet or a beach view should select a 1 bed apartment.

We had an enjoyable week in the sun in late July with our family (two adults and four kids aged 6 - 16). First impressions were good: complex is clean, pool lovely, reception staff friendly. We got an apartment in block one (where the reception was), third floor, so felt secure enough. The railway was on the back, but it didn't really bother us. The two bedroom apartment was very basic and a bit small for the six of us (I heard there were bigger ones in the complex but we managed the week) and with only one bathroom it was a bit of a squeeze, but it was clean. We had a lovely view to the pool from the big balcony and were even able to see the see a bit. We noticed little things like kitchen cupboard knobs falling off, door not closing properly and the kettle not switching off when boiled, but they certainly didn't spoil our holiday. Air conditioning was great and very much needed! There were several restaurants and the supermarket very close, and if you want to go to Salou or Cambrils, buses run frequently both ways. Both towns were a bit too far to walk, we did walk one evening back from Salou to Pins Platja by the beach front, it was lovely but took us about 45mins. We also took a train to Barcelona from Salou, it was an enjoyable day, lovely city. We would definitely return to the area, there is so much to see and do (like Portaventura) and all in all we were happy enough with everything. Big plusses were the pool area, no problems getting sun beds and the beach, which was just across the road. We had good meals in Mucky Duck and the Rugby Tavern with very reasonable prises and friendly staff. Also the bakery in the Supermarket was great. As a self-catering holiday it is pretty much what you make of it, and if you are looking for entertainment in the evenings, this might not be ideal, place is very quiet, good for families with smaller kids though, teenagers might get a bit bored at times (no wi-fi unless you pay for it or go to restaurants or bars).
