“Ok if you like thawed out frozen food”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

We stayed in this hotel as part of a coach holiday at Easter, our driver and courier were surprised when we arrived because they were expecting a Best Western Hotel, but they had lost/given up this status. Our room in the annex was ok,a funny smell in the bathroom which stayed all week. The room was not properly cleaned and towels not put back in bathroom or changed, it seemed if the staff only made the bed and little else. The worst aspect was the food. Every evening there was meat or fish, you could tell it was pre cooked and frozen, veggies every night mixed frozen like you get for £1 at Iceland, and as said previously said mousse in different flavours every night. We asked for more bread one evening with our starters as we were given one slice of a baguette each, it never arrived. The vegetarians and diabetics in our party had a struggle to get something they could eat. Breakfast was just as bad. All we can say is get yourself a proper chef and serve some decent food. The hotel is in a lovely setting in a lovely area, but definately not one I would recommend at present.

I stayed in a lovely twin room, very modern if a little small for two people. Bed very comfortable. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good. Food (on National Coach holiday) was very basic apart from a random night when we had Guinea Fowl which was delicious. There were no side plates and no extra vegetables, just what you got on your plate. The pudding was Mousse (or it could have been Angel Delight) every night in different flavours with the "obligatory (for National) artificial cream on top" yuk!! I am convinced this is due to the low budget that National allows. Overall the hotel was nice and I would stay again. Presumably you would get better food if you were not with National.

A modern hotel in a wooded area of a Dutch National Park. The hotel consists of the main building housing the reception and recreation area which has a small bar. Separate but opposite is the restaurant with two separate rooms.
An annex consisting of further rooms is easily accessible from the other buildings by a covered way.
The service was efficient. The food in the restaurant was modern and quite pleasing.
Putten is centrally placed in Holland for touring the Bulb fields in april. The Village has a history of resistance during WW11. The area is noticeably clean and free from litter. a very attractive town.

We stayed with National Holidays for trip to Keukenhof gardens, bulb fields and windmill tour. Our room was in the annexe building. It was a good sized room, and very comfortable. The staff all spoke very good English and the food was very good but in our case there was no choice, although I did see that when 1 one of the party said they didn't eat fish, a meat alternative was produced. The surrounding nearby town was lovely.
I would say that this hotel was a little too far away for the attractions we had come to see as we were on the coach each day for 1hour 30mins before reaching our destination and 3 hours out of your day travelling is a little too much.

Room Tip: Ground floor and you have a nice outside patio area.

When we booked a short break in Holland to visit Keukenhof Gardens and the UNESCO World Heritage site of 19 windmills at Kinderjik we thought we were booked into a hotel called the Best Western Park Hotel at Putten. Thanks to research on Tripadvisor, I realised that the hotel had been taken over and had been renamed the Hof Van Putten.
We stayed for 4 nights & enjoyed every minute. The hotel is in a beautiful rural area about 35 miles outside Amsterdam & is surrounded by woodland and well kept houses. Rooms have been refurbished recently to a very good standard - flat screen tv including BBC 1 but no fridge. The wet room shower was powerful and there is Dove shower gel provided, We would prefer larger towels but that applies to the majority of hotels where we stay.
There is a good bar and games area in the main hotel block and the drinks were reasonably priced. Food was very good - continental breakfast plus scrambled egg & streaky bacon. At evening meal there was a choice of main course - meat or fish plus soup to start and a creamy dessert. One small criticism is that the self service area at breakfast is too cramped which leads to queuing and congestion but this is a minor criticism as it could be easily re-organised. Many thanks to all staff(who all spoke excellent English) for making our stay so enjoyable.

Room Tip: The less mobile people on our trip were well accommodated & had no complaints. The grounds and b...

just returned from a holiday staying at this wonderful hotel. Our room was spacious, very clean with views onto the gardens. The grounds were lovely to walk around or to just take a seat in the gardens and the meals were plentiful and served by the most friendly staff you could wish for. One in particular called Tamara did everything she could to take care of a fussy eater like myself. Just a few minutes walk from the hotel is the pretty town of Putten with a nice selection of shops and cafes. It is best to go to the town on Wednesday to visit its excellent open air market.
Whilst in the town remember to visit the windmill and the historic church.
My wife and I are looking forward to staying here again.

Modern hotel in very pleasant grounds. Room spacious and well equipped. Bed was comfortable and we had a quiet nights sleep last night.

Food is satisfactory but not great (Breakfast cool this morning) and they have most types of tea but very little English tea.

The en suite we had was a wet room which I assume is normal.

Plenty of room for 2 chairs and free wifi in the rooms which is a plus.

OK for overnight or short stay.

Room Tip: Suggest a room in the main hotel as some in the extension are a long way from the restaurant.
