Description: Take a minute to catch your breath from today’s hustle and bustle. In the beautiful ‘Ronde Hoep’ polder, between the villages of Amstelveen and Abcoude, where the three rivers "The Bullewijk", "The Holendrecht" and "The Waver" merge, you will find our uniquely situated restaurant. Only ten minutes from Amsterdam and Amstelveen. Looking out over the water and pastures you can see the skyline of Amsterdam Southeast with the Amsterdam Arena, Afas live and the Ziggo Dome. In this rural setting, in one of the most beautiful places in the Netherlands, you can enjoy pure, fresh, traditional international cuisine with Dutch influences, with the Leurs family and their staff. Fine wines, a warm, cosy and romantic atmosphere and attentive, friendly hostesses ensure you have a fantastic experience in a relaxed atmosphere. And always with ample and free parking... De Voetangel. That food... that hospitality... that view!

“Nice place with historic value”
Reviewed 18 March 2013

Near Amsterdam in the town of Ouderkerk a/d Amstel you'll find restaurant "de Voetangel". It is situated at the crossing of the rivers Holendrecht, Bullewijk and Waver. The service is very friendly and helpfull without being too prominent. And most important they have a very nice and original menu and serve good wines for a decent price.
The history of "de Voetangel" goes back to the 17th century and had many famous visitors, among them one of Holland's most beloved artists Wim Sonneveld. On the website of the restaurant you can watch a very nice presentation (also in English) of their history.
And when you don't want to drive home you can stay at Villa Oldenhoff (B&B) which takes a 5 minutes walk.

“Good meal and service”
Reviewed 27 November 2012 via mobile

Visited with some colleagues, and received a warm welcome. A good selection to choose from, and with menus in English. Would visit again.

“excellent value for money”
Reviewed 21 November 2012

Had a very nice dinner here yesterday. Great atmosphere and excellent value for money. I chose the menu of the month, and had a mixture of meat and fish. I really enjoyed it and would definitely go there again, as I'm curious about the other dishes on the menu.
good and fast service too.

“== very enjoyable, good value ==”
Reviewed 17 October 2012

This place is not cheap but worth it.

Very good food and very good service, accommodating gluten-free requests cheerfully and capably. Good wines by the glass.

Located just outside the village in an area with history and good views.

“A delicious meal in the countryside outside of Amsterdam”
Reviewed 17 June 2012

My aunt who lives in Amstelveen booked this restaurant for my cousins and me. The restaurant overlooks pastures with grazing cattle, farms and canals. the food was delicious, each course was well prepared with flavorful and fresh ingredients.
The wait staff was professional and unobtrusive.
I can't comment on the wine list as we didn't order a bottle.
I wouldn't make a trip here from Amsterdam only because there are many fine dining choices in the city. On the other hand, if you want to decompress and take a 20 minute drive to open farmland , this is a relaxing side trip. The restaurant is certainly a gem for the local area.
