We have stayed in The Stable at West Standen Farm several times now and at different times of year - it's such a great holiday, we just have to keep going back! Beautiful accommodation, very spacious, comfortable and child-friendly (we've been there with children ranging in age from a few months to 10 years, plus grandma, and it's suitable for all). The farm and converted stable & carriage house are set on a hillside with far-reaching views of the countryside, secluded from the hustle and bustle of the island's towns and seaside resorts, yet only a short drive from all the attractions that the Isle of Wight has to offer. The farmers, Sally and Edwin (and lovely dog Grace) are kind, welcoming and always willing to share their vast knowledge and experience of farming with guests. The cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, ponies and chickens are lovingly cared for and we've enjoyed "helping" Sally each morning with the animal feeding and egg-collecting round. In April/May, we even had the privilege of witnessing the birth of several lambs, and the excitement of visiting the barns each morning and seeing the new arrivals. As on any working farm, young children do need adult supervision for their own safety and that of any young animals.
