“beautiful”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

We have visited both in the day and at night time and both are beautiful however it is particularly enchanting at night! The whole forest is light up with colours and the bird show was amazing. It is good for any age as there are plenty of play areas and small rides for younger children and things to look at and go on for older children/adults. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes though as you do a lot of walking! would definitely recommend!

“A Little Disappointed”
Reviewed 21 June 2014 via mobile

Very much wanted to visit this after 14 years of holidaying on the island. Really hoped to ser the red squirrels and have heard that it's very photogenic. So what of the visit? Finding it is easy and there's plenty of parking. The staff we saw were friendly enough. Er. That's about it.
We didn't mind having to queue for a while behind the school trips to get in, after all there may not be enough visitors to warrant a separate line for school parties and one for families etc on a day out.
Nor was the pricing unreasonable.
Nor did we mind the fact that there were quite a few of the school parties' kids being "over excited".
However it would have been nice to have been able to get round and see the place. Sadly myself, my mother and my aunt are disabled, with my mother and aunt in wheelchairs. Even though for this day out they'd brought electric scooters we were unable to access most of the park. Our first intended target was to get to the Chinese pagoda. We thought this would be okay as from the supplied map there appeared to be a fairly straightforward route to it and, as the area around the gift shop and Squirrel Café were tarmac we felt this would be easy. Sadly almost immediately the tarmac stopped and the rest of the route was gravel paths. This is a killer for any wheelchair user or mobility scooter. The first part of the route was fairly compacted and downhill but once we'd got past the carved tree the path became impassable and so we had no option but to try and get back up to the entrance. This took ages as gravel paths were the only option and going uphill was impossible. With very little signage working out an exit route became a hit and miss affair. We tried to aim for the tractor route as we figured that this would provide the most compacted surface which would hopefully allow the wheels to move without digging in but signage prevented visitors access. Eventually we managed to find a route up and out but this was so step in parts that the motors kept overloading and cutting out.
All in all we were there for two hours. Ten minutes to get in, another fifteen to get to the carved tree and the rest trying to get out. Never had time to see anything, which is a shame add the setting was beautiful.
I cannot recommend this for anyone who is in a wheelchair - even the off-road one my mom has wasn't up to this.
Would have appreciated either:
clear indication that in actual fact most of the park isn't accessible to wheelchairs or mobility scooters and not just the tractor train as intimated by the website
clearly marked routes for wheelchair or scooter users
Or compacted gravel routes or tarmac.
I fully understand that the latter may not be possible for many reasons, cost, drainage, aesthetics and so on but compacted gravel would have helped. Or allow scooters/wheelchairs to use the tractor route.
Overall this attraction promises to be a nice day out and were it possible to visit when healthy I would recommend it. Just not yet.

“A must visit attraction”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

We visit very year and have enjoyed the visit in all types of weather, although its at it's best when sunny.

Kids love all the adventure play areas, train ride, 4d cinema, maze and the pirate boat to name only a few.
Amazing bird displays fantastically narrated by a very knowledgeable and entertaining host. Make sure you see these displays. Get there a bit early to get a seat.

Note this is NOT a thrill ride theme park so don't expect loads of thrill rides, but you don't need them to be honest as there is something to see or do everywhere in the park.

TOP TIPS
Wear comfortable shoes. Be prepared to walk around the park, up and down slopes. If you go on the bridges be prepared for your feet to get wet a bit.

Buy fish food for the pond on the way in. Massive amounts of fish to feed in the fishponds, the kids love the feeding frenzy.

Take a blanket and picnic if weather is good. There is a fantastic field and other seating areas in the park to relax and enjoy the surroundings. (please don't litter).

Use the tractor train to get around the park only if you need to as you will miss a lot if you do.

Bits for improving.
I was disappointed with this year as some of the park could do with a bit of TLC. Starting to show its age, and in some areas becoming very overgrown (dragon flies in the garden and other areas). Water squirting wall needed maintenance as wasn't working properly.

Loads of bird droppings around the bird display on the path and the wooden benches in the display area could do with levelling off as you slide onto your neighbours lap....

Will be back agin next year!!

“fantastic well worth a visit”
Reviewed 4 June 2014 via mobile

This is our 4th holiday to the Isle Of Wight and our 4th visit to Robin Hill. It's a really good day out for all ages. We timed it right and hit all 3 bird displays, the guys who run this put on a really good display. You can do as little or as much walking as you want, the tractor train is a great way to rest your legs. We would definitely recommend Robin Hill to anyone visiting the Isle of Wight

“Great way to spend a sunny day”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

If you visit here make sure you visit at the beginning of your holiday (not the last like we did!) as you have 7 days of unlimited access. The sun was shining for our entire visit, it's all outdoors so wouldn't like to have come on a wet day. Plenty to see and do, not realising what would be there we were unprepared and ideally should have taken a picnic, but we ate in one of the cafés which was lovely. Toboggan slide was the highlight but as others have said, why the charge for it? It's not cheap to access Robin Hill so the fact you have to pay extra for this is a little unnecessary in my opinion.
