Stayed for one night in September. Typical Premier Inn - a class above Travelodge - and great value for the price we paid. Location was OK and only a 10 minute walk into Newport. Great for a stopover or weekend break. Friendly staff.

What is there to say about the Premier Inn concept? You know what to expect and what you will get. Our stay was with the Premier Inn Newport Isle of Wight. A river view room on the ground floor was requested and this is what we were given, perfect! The room had recently been painted in brilliant white however the grout around the bath had mould at the shower end. A good scrub with bleach would sort this. A simple problem but unplesant to look at.

We had prebooked on the first of 5 nights to the on-site restaurant which we used before. Our table was ready however new trainees were on dutyand the service that night was dire! So bad in fact we were given the meal for free. All credit to the undermanager who took this decision. We returned to the restaurant 2 nights later and all was back to normal with good food and good service.

This Premier Inn appears VERY expensive compared to others in the same group, even if you book well in advance rooms can be as high as £102 per night. This is in line with good hotels on the island offering free wi-fi, public rooms, and breakfast. This is not a "budget" hotel, it's a safe bet, easy to book, know what you are getting hotel. It seems that Premier Inn wishes to move into the 3 star hotel sector in price but do not have the facilities: its a "budget" hotel, and in this, they excel, but they should review their pricing policy here.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the river and save your feet: ask for the ground floor.

I have stayed at this Premier Inn a few times with my daughter and grandchildren...we usually use it as a base for a short stay on the island.....can't fault it, the rooms are always clean and the staff are always welcoming.....and the restaurant next door is ideal for breakfasts and evening meals..though it may be useful to book a table for your evening meal, because it is a popular place for the islanders to eat too!!

We went there for a weekend, sort of last minute plan. The hotel is just 10 mins away from the ferry port. Like most PI branches it has most of things you will need, our three year old stayed for free on a single bed. Only qualm was that we were given the room with the windows towards the parking lot and it was a little noisy at times. Otherwise, overall a good stay.

It's a little tricky to get to the hotel if you use a sat nav, that's because there are two roads that lead to it and one has a locked barrier and that's the one the sat nav will guide you through.

The breakfast is served at a restaurant attached to the hotel which was pretty decent.

I myst also say that the reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed here on a Sunday night while on a short break on the Isle of Wight. The check in staff were very friendly and quickly found our reservation along with our car park ticket for the duration of our stay - make sure you get this otherwise you have to pay and display.
We were rather concerned about the amount of flies flying around in reception with the staff taking no notice, there were lots of flies, too many not to notice but as they were present in reception each time we passed through this must be a regular occurance! Thankfully we were not put off by this and were pleased to find our room lived up to the usual Premier Inn high standard. The room was at the front of the hotel and overlooked the Bus Museum and was clean and well maintained. We did find our room warm although the windows were open but I had noticed a sign in reception stating that there were now fans in the rooms, they have clearly listened to guests opinions which is excellent. I would stay here again, by far the best choice of hotel on the IOW...

Good location, friendly, ace bed (huge!), fair value, nice food and ale in the associated pub. Would definitely stay again if I were in the area. We even had a view out of the window with boats and swans to look at, unexpected surprise.

I thought the staff was really amazing at the hotel. They were very friendly and helpful. We had a family room and the bed was a bit lumpy, could feel the springs, and really telegraphed any of my partners movements. The other issue was without a/c in the room, it was a bit hotter than I would have liked. Shouldn't have been a problem, but the windows have a lock to prevent opening very far, so couldn't get the cold night air into the room. Had a fan, which made it acceptable. Very clean bathroom.
There is a coin only vending machine in the lobby, to get cold drinks. Would have liked ice making or a refrigerator in the room, as I couldn't get my drinks cold. Had pump dispenser of shampoo/soap in shower. No other tolietries provided.
I liked the location as it was about a .7 mile walk to the city center, so it was nice and quiet, but not too far to get to restaurants, etc. We needed to go to a laundry and the closest we found was about a mile walk.
The #5 bus from E. Cowes was 3.50 or so and dropped us off at the road for a 2 minute walk to the hotel.
Our room #52 was on the quay side which was fairly quiet and pretty to look out on.
