A wonderful hotel , every staff member I met were very friendly and most helpful. Kirsty on reception was outstanding and very approachable. Clean and every modern place . The restaurant was value for money, again staff were outstanding , must mention , Eileen, Emma , and Joe the manager those staff really made the holiday . Fantastic , and very reasonably priced , will return again soon

Room Tip: River view , outstanding

Four of us spent three nights at the Premier Inn ,Newport. Its position is perfect for the Southampton Red Funnel Ferry, which as an aside was an excellent service, and for touring the island. The rooms were an excellent size and perfectly adequate and spotlessly serviced. The hotel staff were very efficient and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast and evening meals were in the adjoining TableTable restaurant. The food and service again was first class.

Room Tip: Floor two overlooking the river. If you don't mind seagulls first thing.

I don't usually bother reviewing chain hotels like Premier Inns because they are what they are, and mainly all the same. This one was rather nice mainly because of the location. Rather than being on a busy road junction slightly out of town, this one is down a quiet road, on the quayside, and you can walk to the centre of Newport along the traffic-free quay lined with small boats in about ten minutes. The room, which overlooked the estuary was large and the lighting not as poor as one often finds in Premier Inns. It was hot weather when we were there and there is no air conditioning. A fan was provided however and there was a slight breeze from the estuary. Because of the location the only noise we heard was from the gulls. There was the usual Table Table restaurant attached. We didn't eat breakfast there but the one dinner we had was god pub food. We found the staff at the hotel and the restaurant pleasant and helpful.

Room Tip: Even number rooms look out over the estuary. Odd number look out over the car park.

Good place to stay when on a business trip as close to ferry terminal (Newport) nice quiet location which is a plus if you have to work out of normal office hours. Stay here once a month and staff are always friendly and helpful. The pub next to hotel is a table 2 table which is okay but some portions are a bit small off the evening menu, but cannot fault the breakfast.

Being the naturally sceptic person that I am, I didn't think much of the hotel. Especially when I saw that it was much smaller than other Premier Inn Hotels I've stayed in. Turned out alright!

The good:
- Room was clean and tidy, as always.
- There was a fan supplied as the hotel didn't have central AC. I thought this was a nice touch.
- The facilities, including bed, bathroom, linen, etc were all good and up to the general standard.
- Staff were polite.
- Parking included in cost. You get your parking ticket when you check in.
- Restaurant next door was very nice. Not much choice in terms of menu, but what you get is generally good. THe dinner was average but the breakfast is highly recommended.

The bad: The reception area is such a let-down. It was not tidy and the staff weren't particularly 'warm' when it comes to checking in. This area does not do the hotel justice, as they were doing everything else right.

Bottomline: Very pleasant stay.

This must be the one hundredth time I have stayed here !!. Still a good hotel and one best on the island. Just for added excitement the field next door is the site for the IOW festival and the hotel gets taken over for it. Soooo.. if you are thinking of booking it don't do it until next week as its sort of closed .

Room Tip: Ask for a 2nd floor room on the river side. There is a lift.
