“Another good nights sleep”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2013 via mobile

From the location on a busy junction you would expect it to be noisy however I had a very good nights sleep without any noise. As i was travelling by train and there are no taxis at the station, I had a 20 minute walk. The lady in reception told me that they would happily have arranged for a taxi to pick me up if I had called. The reception staff were very friendly and more than happy to book me a taxi in the morning. Breakfast was standard fare but i have no complaints. It what you would expect from a Premier Inn and why I choose that brand if one is available.

Stayed for 3 nights, Room was comfortable clean and good air con although no lift and by busy roundabout room but room was not noisy. Reception staff very friendly and so helpful Kerry in particular as I was travelling on day trips on my own I was given the tel no in case I was lost or had a problem. Good suggestions for bus trips.
Breakfast was always enjoyable and staff friendly. Evening meal was hit and miss. Good Indian around corner under bridge.
Arrange a taxi if arriving by train as we walked all the way into Cannock but were actually walking away from it.

Room Tip: If you have any joint/knee problems or breathing difficulties ask for rooms on lower floor as there...

Overnight stay on a Friday night to break up a long journey south. Arrived after 9pm to a busy car park and restaurant, so was worried about noise, but you couldn't hear anything from our room. Had a family room for the four of us. Room was clean, comfortable and spacious.

Had breakfast next morning and the Brewers Fayre. Went early so restaurant quiet. Good food selection and efficient service.

Stayed here for an overnight stay and could not fault the rooms which, as requested, were on the ground floor. But the restaurant was awful. We had reserved a table because, being a Saturday night, we thought they may be busy, but first of all we were put on a table next to a screaming child - and I mean screaming. We asked to be moved. My husband's beer was completely flat and stale, but upon complaining was given another. We do not eat red meat and the other choices were pretty poor. We wanted haddock and chips, but they were out of stock and we were told that the "fish" in the "fish and chips" was like cod so we ordered that, but it was nothing like cod - was soft and soggy, and completely tasteless. We were offered another meal but just took our money back. Shame on Whitbread but we have so enjoyed our meals in their "Thyme" restaurants before and we thought this would be similar. Breakfast was the normal high quality we have come to expect.

Booked four twin rooms for a golf weekend and found the whole experience, from start to finish totally hassle free. Booking via the internet was a breeze with lots of e-mail follow-ups to confirm the booking and reminders up to the day of travel which all adds to the comfort factor that this is a hotel chain that cards about its customers.
Arrival and check-in was quick and simple and, although a simple thing, with having automatic doors to the entrance and lobby made getting the luggage in a simple affair.
The rooms were very clean, tidy, modern looking with a high standard of fittings. The beds where also very comfortable and offered and excellent nights sleep.
Being directly attached to the pub/restaurant meant no need to endure the unpredictable weather come breakfast time which was nice.
All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful to ensure our stay was nothing less than perfect and will happily use the hotel again in the future.

Room Tip: One of our party was on crutches so the lack of a lift should be noted if you are similarly affected...

We stayed here for one night to break up a long journey from Edinburgh to Brighton.
We arrived after 11 pm and were greeted warmly and checked in very quickly.
The room was clean and the beds were comfy. We stay at a few Premier Inns when we travel in the UK and yes they all have the same decor. But you know exactly what you are getting and clean and comfy is important. Great value for money all round. The breakfast next morning was delicious and the waitress made us feel very welcome.

I have been in many hotels and guest houses around the world , some have been fab others grotty, The prices varied from the cheap to the extortionate . All had their good points , all had theor bad points but when everything is taken into consideration i.e. value for money none can beat this premier inn, I really could not fault it, Clean , Comfortable , Friendly. easily accessible and an ability to make one feel at home. I wiull deffinately book Premier Inn again
