“Murder mystery!”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

Stayed here for a murder mystery night in April.

Room clean and comfortable, which is all you need for a one night stopover. Dinner was ok - breakfast exceptional as was the breakfast staff.

All in all, for the price, very good value.

On arrival the Hotel looked old from the outside. Reseption staff were friendly & our room was clean.
Used the hotel as a base to visit attractions in the area.
Sky bar/restaurant was not very welcoming but the food was nice.
Maid service - our bed was made and towels changed after our first night which was nice.
Rooms are little stuffy due to no opening Windows. Air con worked well but was noisy.
Would use this hotel again as a have if in the area.

Saturday evening, a time for good food and good company, so we arranged a dinner at the Ramada Cannock, upon arrival to the loosely termed brasserie, so termed as at the very whisper of the word brasserie suggests a special style of eatery, decorated and considerate of fresh white linen cloths, smartly prepared tables, a welcoming relaxed atmosphere, with an attentive yet relaxed service… unfortunately not present in Cannock that night.

After waiting patiently for 15 minutes for a receptionist or manager who seemed non-existent, we ventured to what looked like a bar area across the hallway, the bar looked fairly standard in décor by modern hotel standards, the room seemed half busy with guests dressed for a wedding occasion, drinking and jostling. The bar service was slow, however this was the only member of staff to be seen so far, she seemed pleasant yet well paced. After a brief communication we discovered this was not in fact the bar but the brasserie…..

Some time passed whilst we waiting in reception drinking for the guests who were occupying the tables in the bar, we were then positioned in an awkward location next to the kitchen entrance and breakfast buffet area, on two different styled tables which were joined to accommodate the 6 people in our group, whilst we chatting and ordered the one waitress/bar staff took about transforming (sort of) the bar into to the brasserie, which sadly remained somewhat empty for the duration of our meal.

The menu was standard, the food was good, however I was pretty speechless after ordering the FULL RACK OF RIBS only to discover a small cage of around four ribs, which was extremely disappointing and somewhat misleading... The service was adequate and pleasant for the young solitary lady.

If you are looking for something special or something different, I would give this wanna-be Brasserie a big miss… which is at best at present a breakfast room/bar/waiting room,

I'm also now aware that the hotel is popular for events at the weekends, no doubt due to its fortunate location at a busy junction and neighboring events facilities. However when I stop to think, I can’t get over the wasted potential, which is a huge shame for the sky bar and brasserie. think Product, Service, Experience… simple!

We stopped on the 3rd floor and had 2 rooms for our stay. The staff were helpful and accommodating.

It's a bit confusing parking-wise, but you can park 'anywhere'

Great price and helpful staff made our stay really good

Give 'em a go and you won't be disappointed

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Birmingham. got the rooms for £20 with the independent offer. Friendly staff when checking in who advised us that our cheap room deal also included breakfast (can't complain at that price) rooms nice and clean and comfortable. The staff were quick to deal with any requests we had and made the stay enjoyable. I would certainly stay here again if I needed a base in the west midlands for a couple of nights

Recently we had our wedding at the hotel. Where do I start, during the course of the 6 meetings we had with Jason and Emma all seemed to go really well and the hotel were very accommodating with our requests. However when we actually turned up on the day before our wedding, we found that neither Jason or Emma was on duty. Instead we were met by anther gentleman who had only started there 3 weeks prior (of which we had never met or had any meetings with to discuss our day) however he did 'try' to do his best. He was on his own for most of the day with no staff assistance. When we went in to set up our reception room the staff in there had automatically set all table for 10 guests. Even though I had given them a hand written and typed up seating / table plan 4 weeks prior. To which me, my mother in law and bridesmaids had to reset all of the tables. The table cloths were stained and had to be changed. They had not followed instructions to put our sweet buffet table out or cake table. This was all done by us. Anyway, eventually we went to bed. I got up the next day and to me everything was prefect from the minute we got up to the minute we went to bed however unbeknown to me. My mom and family had to rush around putting everything right. If it weren't for them our day would have been a shambles. I would like to mention Demi, she was brilliant. Attended to all our needs. A lot more went on but been as the day went smoothly due to the help oft family we did have a perfect day. All in all the bride and groom we're happy with their wedding day. Shame our actually wedding coordinator couldn't have been on shift. Things would have been a lot easier.

On booking our room we weren't told the sky bar lounge was closed all weekend, on arrival the receptionist with glasses was miserable and abrupt and not one bit apologetic that our room wasn't ready and just told us to sit in the coffee area and they would bring a complimentary coffee, to which we had to wait 20 mins for them to bring it then a further 5 mins after the coffee arrived for them to bring the sweeteners that I had asked for. The room itself was lovely and had everything we needed.
